One Team Across tHe Globe

PAUL MCLAUGHLIN, PRESIDENT OF EDUCATIUS NORTH AMERICA

With 20 years of industry experience, I joined Educatius after serving in senior executive roles in two other leading student exchange organizations. My passion for the study abroad programs is reflected in the almost two decades that I have worked for international organizations focusing on high school programs in the USA. With an international family, I know how important language and cultural understanding is to fully immerse and in a new country.

ERICA MCALLISTER, EDUCATIUS BOARDING PROGRAM MANAGER, USA

I taught English in South Korea for 2 years right after college and have continued from there. As a teacher and advisor for International Students, I will always remember when students meet their goal; Seeing a student get accepted into the college of their dreams after an English immersion program I worked with them through is something I will never forget.

KIMBERLY CARTER, EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF COUNCIL FOR EDUCATIONAL TRAVEL, USA

I was lucky enough to live abroad, and the experience changed my life. Both of my daughters studied abroad, so our family believes in the mission of bridging the world through cultural interaction. I love to see how much the students grow while in the U.S. they become International Citizen and have compassion for other. I love the bond that lasts forever better the students and host families. They really become one big happy family!

MICHELE HARRISON, EDUCATIUS’ COMMERCIAL DIRECTOR UK & IRELAND

I have a love of languages and have been welcoming students to this country for many years for educational and exchange programmes. I joined the Group in 2014 with the task to create exchange programmes across the UK and Ireland. Seeing students grow with confidence and ambition during their programme, with some deciding to stay longer than expected and even going onto university or eventually into employment.

JAMES CRIMP, NATIONAL DIRECTOR AUSTRALIA AND NEW ZEALAND

I started working with international students over 30 years ago in my hometown of Torquay, England teaching English. My parents were a host family as well to many foreign students. Meeting the many international students who choose to embark on exchange programmes and then seeing them develop and mature over the duration of their program. It always amazes me how much they have developed as global citizens whilst on exchange.

EVA GÓMEZ, COUNTRY MANAGER, GET READY SPAIN

We can´t choose where we come from but, we can choose where we go. I have worked with international students for 28 years. I studied journalism and tourism, trying to join my two passions: travel and communication. The possibility of learning new cultures, showing our traditions, creating cross-cultural bridges to understand the world, and to see it through another lens was enriching and stimulating. I dream of a more compassionate world, and I believe that we help our students to achieve their dreams, fostering international understanding through educational and cross-cultural programs.

JEAN-MICHEL ROQUES, DIRECTOR, JEV LANGUES

I have always felt pulled towards foreign languages and as a young teacher I started supervising exchange programs. The organization for which I was working asked me to join them full-time, the year was 1983, and I have grown in the student exchange program field ever since. It is an incredibly gratifying mission, one that unite people from all over the world by fostering human contact and international relations. More importantly, this line of work grant teenagers to become bilingual, gain in maturity and obtain a richer understanding of our world.

MARKUS FIEDLER, COUNTRY MANAGER, DFSR GERMANY

Markus joined DFSR after a decade of working in advertising, looking for ways to make a difference. Helping exchange students experience a life abroad and seeing them become global citizens has been his passion ever since. Every time a student returns home to Germany with stories full of life changing experiences, making new friends and growing up, I know how lucky we are to work nowhere else but in this field.

BEATE LENZBAUER, COUNTRY MANAGER, ASTYDY, ITALY

Working in student exchange programs means to me to enable today’s young people to benefit of study abroad experiences which I enjoyed for my own growth, as a professional and a human being. Grown up in Germany, after high school I was heartly welcome and hosted by families in Rome, later during university years, I gratefully experienced the generosity of Chinese teachers and people, studying then at an American university opened my academic horizons. Learning, travelling, hosting, supporting people, exchanging culture are part of my DNA. Welcome to the world and welcome to Educatius!
