Turn Your Pictures into Amazing Images If you find it difficult to reflect in a picture the magical moments that your eyes perceive, hang on, and read along! There are many ways to capture those special occasions and turn them into amazing images. You don’t need the best camera or visiting exotic places to make that happen. What you need to do is follow five simple steps or what I call, the ILOVE formula. 1. Identify your primary subject. If you love to take portraits and you still believe that your cat looks better in a picture than you do, do not give up. Even not so flattering subjects can turn a picture in an iconic image if you take a different approach, like changing the background, the time and place or adding simple props –take a look at pictures of Frida Kahlo and you’ll get the idea. 2. Lighting. Having adequate lighting is what every passionate photographer wants, however, it rarely happens. For example, in broad daylight is a good idea to use your camera’s built in flash to light your subject. Yes, you read well, use your flash! It will help in getting rid of nasty shadows and have a perfectly illuminated face. 3. Organize. Organizing or moving obstructive elements that appear in your frame is a great idea. It helps avoiding visual distractions and gives your images a cleaner look. 4. Visualize. Think about the result before you press the shutter. Take a deep breath, look at every possible angle, close your eyes and see the final image in your brain. You’ll be surprised how close your visual representation is to the final picture. 5. Execute. Pressing the camera button is waiting for magic to occur in front on your eyes. Do it! One time. As many as possible. Perfection only comes with practice. Remember the ILOVE formula, put it in practice and start taking amazing pictures!
