THE EXCHANGE
UCF CENTER FOR INNOVATION IN THE ARTS A project located right on the threshold of campus and the community, the Performing Arts and Music Department of UCF collaborated with Baker Barrios Architects to produce a new Performing Arts Center, but one that dared to keep up with the future and progression of the art industry and technology. Through multiple workshops, a recurring theme of DUALITY and DIALOGUE kept appearing., which would in turn begin to shape the development of the project - from the interior workings of the program with the inclusion of a flexible space called “The Lab, to the very form and function of the architecture as a unifier of different entities. The Exchange houses within itself the flexibility and functionality of past methods of theater, music and etc. but leaves space within it to receive what the future has in store.

LIFE ON DISPLAY KISSIMMEE PERFORMING ARTS CENTER
Located near the existing Civic Center in Downtown Kissimmee, this project aims to reinvigorate the area and it’s surrounding context. Taking cues from the existing murals and the nature of the project, two components began to form the basis for the overall concept: “The Box”, an element that aims to drag attention to itself by framing; and this element of “Change Over Time” that is a symbolic representation of Kissimmee’s history and aim to progress into the future, as well as a physical observation for the context of the site that receives and projects inhabitants. Along this trajectory of “Change”, “boxes” are placed that serve to showcase Kissimmee’s story through it’s art/music. At the apex of this trajectory, the lobby for KPAC is framed as the final and greatest showing of Kissimme’s story - a story shown ultimately in it’s people.

CONNECTIVITY
The Domain Tower 2 features an Amenity Layout on Level 14. The amenities include a gym space, conference areas and an exterior terrace. The adjacency of the main confer-
ence and flex spaces for level 14 emphasize connectivity. Connectivity between spaces is achieved with the utilization of both the conference space and flex space as one syn-
chonized room. Connectivity between interior and exterior is achieved with the 2 operable doors that blur the division between indoor and outdoor.

TIMELINES
LIVE/WORK MAKER SPACE IN ORLANDO Journey to the Pure Space This project is located in Jay Blanchard Park, in Orlando, FL. Indepth research and site analysis was first conducted, resulting in a diagram of the pre-existing structures, population clusters, and landscape typology. This inspired the six-word story - “Attracting life. Clusters connected by movement”, which became a guide in the historical research of the natives of Florida. From there, the concept took inspiration from the primitive fish trap known as the weir and the historical timeline of the Natives and Europeans. The project’s program consisted of creating a space for: storing/ displaying kayaks, living, making and a bait shop.

THE SHOWREEL A COLLECTION OF ANIMATIONS*
In addition to the typical plans, sections, and renders used to present to a client, one of the most useful tools in immersing people into a space has been the power of an animation. Donning the hat of a cinematographer, an animation has the power to convey not only the experience of a project but also the atmosphere and life that the space can provide. This sections contains the animations created in the past couple of years on numerous projects. Through these scenes, every project has another stage by which it can stand and tell its story.
