LIVE TO SERVE LOVE TO SERVE UBC CKI.

A Letter from Flora Zhu, President of UBC CKI Poopaye! Hello Everyone! (for those who don’t speak Minion) I can’t believe that the year has come to an end! Time really flies by when you’re in university, unless it is exam session, strange eh? In the past several months UBC Circle K International has grown far beyond my expectations, and as much as I would like to jump around and brag that it was all me-I would be lying. This club is nothing without the hardworking executive team and the dedicated members. In all honestly, I am just the minion with the microphone nagging in everyone’s ears. Without your dedication and your love for service, this club would consist of one hectic university student running around in circles striking chaos everywhere she goes. So I would like to thank you (yes, you, the one reading this right now, don’t scroll past this letter) for everything you have done for the club, even if it was just signing up for our newsletter or coming out to one event. Each individual contribution really means a lot to me and to UBC Circle K International. This year consisted of carols with Merle at Quest food exchange, running after cyclers during the Gastown Grand Prix and bringing our A-game serving food faster than I can say “banana” at Union Gospel Soup kitchen. We played cupid at the start of the year with an epic beginning by hooking couples up at our Speed-dating event, dominated other UBC and UoT clubs by winning the Zip-car event, and ended the year impersonating our favourite fat elf for Operation Christmas Child. We were extremely lucky to have International Convention located in our beautiful Vancouver this year and District Convention in Oregon (did I mention that we won seven awards?). Of course we weren’t able to resist the urge to stay downtown for a small shopping spree, and we look forward to our DCON 2014 in Spokane Washington. I have faith that this club will grow and prosper, unlike my GPA so thank you for such a wonderful and exciting year. It has been a pleasure working with every single one of you. Tank Yu (Thank you), Tulaliloo ti amo (we love you) and never forget to “live to serve love to serve. “ Sincerely, Flora Zhu President 2013-2014
