Four round, large diameter steel pads are placed on the ground, on which rests a steel chassis of wide flange steel beams. Connecting the two are adjustable supports that allow the pad to be set at different heights to accommodate uneven ground.
Set atop the steel chassis are four pairs of columns constructed of clusters of four logs bolted together supporting four steel trusses.
Walls The spatial boundaries are defined by three log walls. Chinking and sealants between the logs insure environmental closure. The wall does not contain standard types of insulation but according to the U.S. Department of Energy, a 6” thick log wall will provide the equivalent thermal benefit because of its additional thermal mass.
Finishes The roof is constructed of galvanized metal deck, insulation sloped to drain and copper roofing on a wood underlayment. Each bay contains a scupper for rain water. On overhead door provides access and an open “fourth wall” to accommodate a concessionaire or exhibits. Four double hung windows are placed on the rear wall and an additional standard size door may be located here as well if needed.
