Plantable Christmas cards from 'notonthehighstreet'
Linen Wrapping Paper set from Food52
It is estimated that each year 1 billion Christmas cards are sold in the UK only. Just imagine how many of them are thrown away in the next month... That's enough paper to cover Big Ben up to 260,000 times. So why not invest in plantable Christmas cards? They are usually already made from recycled paper and you get beautiful flowers when you plant them... You're really in for a double win when buying these cards!
Fabric gift wrap doesn't only add a sense of fancy to your presents, you could also be helping to reduce the estimated yearly UK waste of 108 million rolls of wrapping paper. On top of that... it's easier to use as you don't get crinkles everywhere and you can get really creative with wrapping in terms of pleating or gathering fabric.
Why not make your own advent calendar using reusable boxes, bags or containers? This way you are guaranteed to buy or receive items you actually want!

Decoration We tend to put a lot of thought and effort into how we decorate our Christmas table. It can be hard to find the right balance and stop yourself from adding decoration. There are many colour schemes you can be inspired by, so we've made a selection.

Table
Christmas Table Decoration by Ajai Guyot
Dark brown tones are perfectly accompanied by beige colours for a strong, mature and rustic looking Christmas table. You can really add any colour accents. We think bright yellow, candles, dried fruits or flowers would look fabulous!
This one is quite unusual, but nonetheless stunning! Hints of coral in the tableware are combined with grey navy blue fabric napkins and runners. The gold cutlery makes this idea really fancy. Any food would love to be served on this table.
For a traditional Christmas table colour palette, stick with greens and deep red tones. Be ready to really feel the holiday spirit and get nostalgic with your friends and family.

Colours A trend we spotted in 2020 was the popular demand for gemstone jewellery. This Christmas, we think the gemstone colour palette should hang on some Christmas trees! The natural stone palette consists of emerald green, peacock blue, and electrifying shades like mustard and fuchsia.

Gemstone
Each gemstone colour has lots of historical and emotional meaning. Take the opportunity this Christmas to add meaning too, and start a conversation about your fir Christmas tree.
Emerald green is the perfect gemstone to represent happy new beginnings, faithful and mature love, and an eternal relationship. Ruby red gemstones are known for being a symbol of protection and passionate love.
