The city of San Fernando is part of the Bay of Cadiz has a population of about 100,000. Among its features we can highlight synergies. .- Cadiz City is an island coupled through an isthmus, composed of a marsh rich in flora and fauna associated to Sancti Petri pipe belonging to the Natural Park of the Bay of Cadiz. .- Its economic model is based primarily on military activity, the shipbuilding industry and the service sector. .- San Fernando is therefore a major Spanish military city, with a high percentage of total military ground of the municipality. The presence of the Army and Navy have inhibited the capacity of urban growth. .- Presence of large infrastructure of communication have created an urban split between central city and the northern periphery, precluding proper urban integration of this sector. .- Today there is still a matter pending resolution of border areas with the natural park. Areas without a clear definition of use and occupied in some cases.

Like a new economic engine, the bet has to tilt towards the realization of tourist activities that permit the high potential offered by the coast of the municipality and the imposing presence of the natural park surrounding the Bay of Cadiz.

The urban model Alcala de Guadaira is framed within the Plan of Urban Agglomeration of Seville along with Dos Hermanas and the capital account for 75% of the population today.The main features of this city are: .- It is inserted into the Motorway A-92, the largest broker of economic activity of Andalusia.
