ECoE orientations

This semester, the college and its departments organized orientation sessions for new and continuing students to familiarize them with the faculty and the programs.

The organizers of these events were Asra Yaqub, Raghad Zarei, and Maryam Alnahdi, Manal Asrar, Haya Binsalem, Jailan ALjizawi. The students participated in several fun and creative activities.

4 skills needed as a student

Hajer Abas from the Computer Science department challenged herself to share her experience in overcoming the obstacles that a student faces in university. Titled “4 skills you have to learn as a student” , the audience was amazed by the courage and wisdom that she was willingly offering to them, therefore, inspired to take up her advice on following the 4 skills. The event received a brilliant response through the feedback form collected by the event organizers.

Introduction to CTF

CS student Habiba Alawlaqi presented a seminar about “Introduction to Catch The Flag (CTF) Competitions ” where she encouraged engineering students to initiate their journey on CTF competitions as well as providing insight on several cyber security topics such as cryptography and digital forensics. It was a successful event with 50 attendees who implemented her examples and learned alongside the speaker.

SCHOOL VISITS

The CS department had 8 school visits during the fall semester. Students from different high schools paid a visit to Effat University in order to learn about the university, the colleges, and the programs. "Technology Leaders " workshops were delivered to the students by invited faculty. A guided tour of the campus was presented to excite the students to potentially join the university.
