AUSTRALIAN NATIONAL ACADEMY OF MUSIC
ANAM EXISTS FOR YOUNG MUSICIANS, EXTREMELY TALENTED YOUNG MUSICIANS FROM ALL CORNERS OF AUSTRALIA. WHAT HAPPENS WHEN THEY COME TOGETHER AND CONFRONT THE CHALLENGES THAT ANAM PLACES BEFORE THEM EXCITES US ALL.
They are the channel between the notes on the page and the exhilaration that we experience; we leave the performance having felt something – and that stays with us. Performance is at the centre of the unique music training delivered at ANAM. The 2014 students will tackle a range of solo, chamber and orchestral projects that provide them with the challenges necessary to take the important final steps in their musical development. ANAM will host a range of outstanding guest faculty and artists in 2014, each bringing immeasurable skills and experience to share with our students. The opportunity to rehearse and perform alongside such artists inspires our musicians to set the bar high. Witnessing them continually meet and exceed our expectations leaves me excited for the future of classical music. I have never left an ANAM concert feeling that they could have given more.
