Philharmonie
Academic Project Studio Perancangan Arsitektur 5 - 2018 Function Concert Hall Location Kota Baru Parahyangan, Jawa Barat
Like a piece of music, life also has dynamics, atmosphere, tempo, to create harmony. However, we, as humans, tend to rarely think about balance and harmony in life that results in high levels of stress in big cities, one of which is Bandung. In fact, like music that must sound pleasing to the listener, life must also be harmonious to be pleasant to be lived every day. This concert hall is designed with the main theme of harmony, shown by the concept of shape and space. The main form is using non-geometric shape configuration as a reflection of human movement and also the dynamics of music that is not 'formal.' The usage of solid-void form, small-large scale, dark-light color also refers to the main concept of harmony that demands balance.

Harmonious Balance
The site is located in Kota Baru Parahyangan, a new satellite city, to reduce the density of Kota Bandung. Representing the rebirth of the old Kota Bandung, Kota Baru Parahyangan was planned to have art deco-themed buildings. Building design strategy should not remain silent about it but responds to the use of the urban concept. The concept of art deco itself is a modern architectural concept that regards buildings as machines with their functionality. Therefore, the building is designed to 'borrow' one of the 'machines' in the world of music, namely the piano, to become the main form of a musical performance building, with other organic forms supporting it.

From the sound data gathered, the site’s southwest is the most proper area to place the auditorium. 03. Piano-shaped abstraction, placing the blunt side towards the roundabout and creating shield with the other mass, giving a harmonious expression between the building and its site. 04. Creating a ‘green belt’ to reduce traffic noise and giving a live ambiance towards the roundabout.

Many Dutch heritage buildings in the form of houses were built in the northern Bandung area because of the cold air and the nature that made the Dutch people in the colonial era wanted to settle. Unfortunately, the community's ignorance of heritage buildings nowadays is pretty high. Many of the heritage buildings are destroyed and replaced with new, high-density buildings, regardless of the quality of space. As a result, most of the people aged 20-34 have never experienced or lived in a house with Dutch house typology in Sunda. The apartment units seem to have 'eliminated' the essence of the housing environment. Each occupant lives in their unit without knowing their neighbor, because of apartments nowadays are designed with narrow, dark corridors, without any effort to create a comfortable residential atmosphere for people to interact with each other in communal space. Therefore, this building exists as a rebirth to the soul of 'house' in Bandung by enhancing the character of parks and communal roads before entering the boundary of private space, bringing the soul of fair housing and community living to the building, with a modern context that is appropriate to the conditions of young people and the surrounding environment, to create a harmonious dwelling between human-environment and human-human. gardens

Sky garden functions as a 'terrace' for the apartment units. A terrace that exposes one unit to another to increase the possibility of neighbors to meet each other face-to-face, to improve the quality of the residents' community. The number of 'terraces' and parks available in the buildings is expected to raise the awareness that humans are meant to live with nature to reduce stress and other psychological and physical problems. This design action needs to be done to improve the quality of life of the residents even though the impact will not be felt instantly, but periodically. Therefore, the building is also designed to use as much sunlight and natural ventilation as possible on building parts that are rarely used, such as circulation paths.

The image and typology of traditional markets in Indonesia that tend to be enclosed, smelly, dirty, lack of lighting, and air circulation are considered less attractive to visitors nowadays. Indonesia is an archipelago country and has many fish market points scattered among the nation. Fish markets should be more open, clean, and inviting for the people to come rather than just waiting for them. Efforts to change the image of the traditional market must be made to deal with times and technology. Because of this issue, the existence of the contemporary fish market is considered appropriate to answer the problem. A market that not only means a matter of buying and selling but also being able to meet the needs of the society for recreation and making memories. Thus, market and regional activities are also boosted by the combination of tourism factors, particularly Cilincing region, which is still attached to its bad stigma.

Tourism
Cilincing has long been known for its fisherman's settlement. The potential in the maritime sector is significant enough to say that Cilincing requires a place for its people to develop and introduce their 'selling-point' to a broader urban community. Therefore, the existence of Contemporary Fish Market could be the answer to the needs of the people of Cilincing region itself.

01. Program Needs - The contemporary fish market requires nine types of programs, including primary and secondary functions and support. The figure represents the estimated size of each program. 02. Basic Programs - The arrangement of market zones is based on the effectiveness of circulation and consideration of the site's form, which tends to be linear. All of the market halls cannot be combined into one level, but instead vertically stacked with broad stairs and elevators access. 03. Additional Programs - The gallery and restaurant are arranged at the top as a function that doesn't require too much loading-unloading activity, as well as consideration of functions with the most prolonged usage hours. Therefore, the building looks 'alive' throughout the day, even from afar. 04. Borderless - 'Borderless' is the main concept of the building, becoming part of the area by enabling the people to access it visually and physically. The shape also adjusts the existence of the heritage building next to it, made as if it overshadows the building, despite the significant height difference.

Humans are supposed to live along with nature. On the other hand, technology improvement and industrialization create a city with a dense society. Deforestation continues considering the human need for new land while excessive urbanization led us to further problems. Today, Jakarta is one of the most crowded cities in the world. The existence of 158 skyscrapers in Jakarta is a reflection of the economic growth success rate in Indonesia. Even though Jakarta’s natural environment is considerably bad, but economical demand is forcing the community to stay and work in Jakarta. Unfortunately, people tend not to realize that city’s main problem is the degradation of human life itself. Sick building syndrome is one of the side effects of humans trapped in artificial spaces. Live and work in a skyscraper now is seen as a lifestyle rather than an activity. The accumulation time of events made in a building could affects the unaware users and decrease their productivity and increase the chance of depression. Made intentionally ambiguous, 'walkway' or 'walkaway' was named before the emotion of the community that wants to run away from urban chaotic ambiance, going back to nature. Connecting between Taman Anggrek Mall and Central Park, this walkway is designed to create a whole new ambiance in the transition. It acts as a runaway space for the urban community to restore the connection between humans and nature through senses. The main goal of this project is to create human, humane.

01. The existing site condition is elevated 2 metres below the road surface. Noise disruption could be reduced significantly because of this elevation difference. 02. There is an existing 2-way pedestrian circulation from Taman Anggrek - Central Park and otherwise. The walkway serves both ways at the same time. The mass is created lengthwise to respond to the current circulation. 03. Each entrance is ‘pulled up’ to show the building form up, creating a welcoming impression and ease at visual reach. 04. The entrance side is widened with a smooth transition to create a transitive, unique space experience.

Architecture | Walk(a)way The concept is to make a space with sensation trigger collaboration between touch and visual senses to create a perception from the materials used. For example, concrete by itself is hard and cold, as we know, but when it’s curved, it creates an organic effect. Hard and natural material properties in nature could represent rock and cave inside the mind. By just seeing, people could ‘feel’ the temperature and even the properties of the material. People could experience another dimension of place, other than space itself. “Architecture is the art of reconciliation between ourselves and the world, and this mediation takes place through the senses.” — Juhani Pallasmaa

A familiar experience, inside a typical modern building. As people walk towards inside, space is getting narrower gradually, creating a ‘squeezing’ effect. The visual sense is getting more limited by the reduction of glass window transparency. In this phase, people are expected to realize that they were locked up living in artificial spaces.
02.
The journey through the walkway is a transitive space experience. In this phase, people were introduced to feel the sun from the perforated ceiling, as being under tree shades. The existence of light acts as a lead to the transitional space experience. At this point, people are guided to feel architecture without thinking. (Zumthor, Peter)
03.
The end of the aisle isn’t shaded by any light source, to create a short, dark space experience. By making a dark, cold, cave-like ambiance, the visual sense turned low to make the other sense, such as hearing and touch more sensitive.
04.
Artificial waterfall acts as a semi-transparent partition and a stimulus to understand nature more. The waterfall makes people relax with its sound. Occasionally, the water could be sensed by the touch in this phase, while smelling the relaxing scent of thunbergia flower that covered the side walls at the same time.
05.
Public space acts as a place for people to express their feelings with others and socialize. Besides the nuance of the forest presented by the green walls and thunbergia flower, a column that resembles a twisted tree acts as a space maker to create a warm atmosphere.
06
Stone is the most honest natural element, and its existence is timeless. In this place, rock is a figure that helps humans to feel freedom in nature. A media that delivers people to reflect themself, reflecting their life and social life. Reconnecting the connection between humans and nature.

O Baileo Masigaro ngomi, manyawa lo Baileo lahyo masari yalelefoka umamune. The beauty of the Morotai Islands is inseparable from the naturality of the region, which is maintained by the wisdom of the local community. The need for the construction of a Tourism Information Center in the area is needed to boost the local tourism industry. Plus, the government also supports the holding of events such as the Morotai Island Maritime, Morotai Art Week, and Morotai Olympic Week. The series of Morotai Festivals will grow the tourism sector of the Morotai Islands region to the international scene. For reasons of maintaining the naturality of the area, vernacular architecture is the most suitable architecture to be placed in that location. Baileo traditional vernacular house is generally used as a conventional event hall in North Maluku Province. By taking inspiration from the Baileo traditional house combined with a touch of contemporary architecture, it is hoped that the architecture of this building can be in harmony with the local architecture. Leave a deep impression on tourists, and stick to it as the identity of the local community. The building is designed to elevate the beauty of the Morotai sea as a focal point for tourists, to raise the value of the Morotai sea itself, not against it.

01. The mass took the form of the roof of the Baileo traditional house as an inspiration for the design. The philosophy of building traditional houses is still maintained to contribute to preserving the existing vernacular architecture, as well as introducing it to tourists. 02. The resulting space is in the form of an open plan following the characteristics of the Baileo house that respects the traditional beliefs about ancestral spirits in each building, while maximizing cross ventilation and daylight. 03. The pavilion is a small building that acts as the focal point of the building entrance. The sea is the main destination with the pavilion as the 'intermediary' between them. The path is made with denial and reward theory to create a more memorable experience. 04. The pavilion implies that the building is not the main attraction for tourists when arriving at the Morotai Islands, but the beauty of the sea panorama, which is represented by the existence of a pond. Pavilions can be used for tourists to sit and enjoy the sea, while 'sunken' into it.

'Invisible' Furniture Furniture is chosen with the same concept, which is invisible and simple, does not interfere with the primary purpose of making the art and the user themselves as the main object. Bright-Colored Materials Bright-colored materials are chosen to upgrade the visuals of an artwork or exhibition that tend to be more colorful. Make works and the community as the main focal points of the building. Inner Court Reflective glass material is used as the room enclosure, obscuring the presence of space by reflecting the surrounding environment, especially the parks surrounds.

Barkpack Branding Set Barkpack branding set is a result of my branding practice for my business project as a stakeholder. The goal is to create the same brand value across all media and entities. This practice was done in graphic, visual, and packaging design areas. The branding itself started in 2019. Barkpack is a fashion brand that has a primary value of animal-friendly with a simple, yet fun concept. The brand also put eco-friendly materials forward as an additional value to create an animal-friendly ecosystem. The brand entities and visual graphics have to represent the brand value, theme, and features accurately to engage the market sales and perception. The logo takes a grid-type of logo with sans-serif geometric typeface to create a simple impression for the viewer.
