Summer Solstice This Sunday, June 21 is the summer solstice for 2020. This is the day that the Sun reaches its northernmost peak from the Equator. It is actually directly above the Tropic of Capricorn. The northern hemisphere experiences the longest day (most daylight) of the year. Unfortunately, the days get shorter from here on in. Within the Arctic Circle, they experience 24 hours of sunlight on this day while in the Southern Hemisphere everything is the opposite. This year it matches with Father’s Day so we get to celebrate our dads all day long.
