أقلعت من مطار القاهرة الدولى خالل 24ساعة الماضٌة 98 رحلة دولٌة وداخلٌة تابعة لشركة مصر للطٌران ،وعلى متنها 9 آالف و 110ركاب من مختلف الجنسٌات. وأفاد مصدر مالحى أن معظم رحالت مصر للطٌران شهدت انتظاما فى مواعٌد اإلقالع حسب جدول التشغٌل المقرر ،موضحا أن طائرات الشركة نقلت ركابها للعدٌد من العواصم العربٌة والعالمٌة والمدن الداخلٌة المصرٌة ،حٌث أقلعت من المطار 27 رحلة داخلٌة.

أعلنت سلطات مطار القاهرة الٌوم "األربعاء" حالة الطوارئ إلنهاء إجراءات ركاب رحلة مصر للطٌران القادمة من نٌوٌورك بعد انقطاع التٌار الكهربائى عن صالة الوصول فى إطار تجربة الختبار المولدات االحتٌاطٌة خالل وصول الطائرة خاصة مع وجود 40راكبا على مقاعد متحركة. وقالت مصادر مطلعة بمطار القاهرة إنه فى إطار إجراء تجارب اختبار أنظمة الكهرباء بمطار القاهرة والتعرف على قدرة المولدات االحتٌاطٌة قامت سلطات المطار بقطع الكهرباء عن مبنى رقم 3وتصادف وصول رحلة مصر للطٌران رقم 986والقادمة من نٌوٌورك وعلٌها 40راكبا على مقاعد متحركة. وقامت "حسناء معوض" مسئولة العالقات بمصر للطٌران ،على الفور ،بتشكٌل فرٌق عمل من أكفأ الموظفٌن بشركة المٌناء ومصر للطٌران واإلتصال بالعملٌات إلعادة الكهرباء خاصة وأن عدد كبٌر من الركاب ٌستخدمون المصاعد الكهربائٌة حٌث تم إعادة الكهرباء بسرعة وخدمة الركاب. وضم فرٌق العمل الكابتن "محمد فتحى" من إدراة اإلرشاد بشركة المٌناء ومعاونى الخدمة "محمود عبدالرحمن " و"عبدالهادى" حٌث بذلوا جهدا كبٌرا لخدمة الركاب والذٌن عبروا عن سعادتهم بما بذلوه ومواجهة انقطاع الكهرباء. ٌذكر أن سلطات مطار القاهرة بدأت فى إجراء تجارب الختبار أنظمة الكهرباء التى تغذى األجهزة والمعدات داخل كل المبانى والصاالت والمواقع الحٌوٌة بإشراف لجنة رفٌعة المستوى لمنع تكرار ظاهرة انقطاع التٌار الكهربائى عن المطار.

شهد مطار القاهرة الدولى ،الٌوم األربعاء ،إلغاء شركة المصرٌة العالمٌة للطٌران "إحدى شركات الطٌران الخاصة منخفضة التكالٌف" 5 ،رحالت لها من مطار القاهرة لظروف التشغٌل الخاصة بتشغٌل الشركة. وتلقت سلطات المطار إخطارا من الشركة ٌفٌد إلغاء رحلة رقم 330 المتجهة إلى شرم الشٌخ ،ورحلة رقم 320المتجهة للغردقة ،ورحلة رقم 930المتجهة إلى مٌالن ،ورحلة رقم 486المتجهة إلى القصٌم، ورحلة رقم 112المتجهة إلى ٌنبع. وقامت سلطات المطار بتنسٌق سفر ركاب تلك الرحالت على متن طائرات أخرى بعد التنسٌق مع إدارة الشركة.

أعلن مسؤول سودانً ،الٌوم الثالثاء ،نجاة 103من ركاب طائرة كانت متجهة من مطار الخرطوم الدولً ،إلى مطار الشارقة ،إثر حرٌق اندلع بقمرة القٌادة بعد دقائق من اإلقالع ،وف ًقا لما ذكرته وكالة األناضول التركٌة. وقال المتحدث باسم مطار الخرطوم ،محمد المهدي عبدون ،لوكالة أنباء السودان الرسمٌة" ،تعرضت طائرة الخطوط الجوٌة العربٌة (الخطو السودانٌة /حكومٌة) المتجهة إلى مطار الشارقة بدولة اإلمارات ،لحرٌق داخل الكابٌنة بعد مرور دقائق من إقالعها من مطار الخرطوم". وأضاف أن قائد الطائرة "أبلغ سلطات مطار الخرطوم بنشوب حرٌق".وتابع، "تمت السٌطرة على الحرٌق بواسطة طاقم الطائرة فى الجو ،وبعدها هبطت الطائرة بسالم بمطار الخرطوم ،وتم إنزال جمٌع الركاب البالغ عددهم 103 راكب". وزاد عبدون "قامت الوحدات المختصة بالمطار (إدارات التحقٌقات واألدلة الجنائٌة ،وأمن الطٌران والدفاع المدنى) بمباشرة إجراءاتها لمعرفة أسباب الحرٌق ،ومن ثم عاودت الطائرة رحلتها إلى مطار الشارقة".ولم ٌعلن المسوؤل السودانً سبب اندالع الحرٌق بقمرة القٌادة- .

www.flightglobal.com Autonomous subs to make 90-day search for MH370 Undersea mapping firm Ocean Infinity will use autonomous underwater vehicles to search for the lost Malaysia Airlinesflight MH370. In a statement, the company says that its ship Ocean Constructor will deploy eight autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs) that can operate at depths up to 6000m. The AUVs' sensor suite includes a sidescan sonar, multi-beam echosounder, sub-bottom profiler, high-definition camera, and other sensors. The company, commissioned by the Malaysian government, will receive no fee unless it finds the missing Boeing 777-200ER. Media reports indicate that it will receive up to $70 million in the event the search finds the aircraft. News that Ocean Infinity would be employed in the effort first emerged in October 2017, in a statement from Australia's then-transport minister Darren Chester. The search will focus on an area of the Indian Ocean identified by the Australian Transport Safety Bureau north of the previously searched area. The search is likely to last for 90 days, and Ocean Infinity says it is due to "commence imminently." Vessel Ocean Constructor is reportedly steaming east from South Africa. A two-year long underwater search funded jointly by the Australian, Malaysian and Chinese governments for the aircraft formally ended in January 2017. In October 2017, the ATSB's final report on MH370 stated that the possibility of finding the aircraft is "better now than it has ever been." "The underwater search has eliminated most of the high probability areas yielded by reconstructing the aircraft’s flight path and the debris drift studies conducted in the past 12 months have identified the most likely area with increasing precision. Re-analysis of satellite imagery taken on 23 March 2014 in an area close to the 7th arc has identified a range of objects which may be MH370 debris." This suggests an area of less than 25,000km² that has the "highest likelihood of containing MH370." The 777-200ER was operating a flight from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing on 8 March 2014 when it mysteriously turned back over the Gulf of Thailand, and made its way to the southern reaches of the Indian Ocean, via the Straits of Malacca. There were 239 passengers and crew aboard.

www.flightglobal.com China set to order over 180 Airbus jets China is set to finalise orders for 184 Airbus A320-family aircraft, say media reports citing French president Emmanuel Macron, after talks with his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping in Beijing. The orders will mainly be for A320neo jets with deliveries to 13 airlines scheduled in 2019 and 2020. It is unclear whether these are new orders, or were previously undisclosed. A joint statement released by France and China says that both countries' presidents encourage Airbus and its Chinese partners to explore new co-operation around the A330, A350 and A380. "China is willing to continue purchasing Airbus aircraft through the mutually beneficial and friendly consultations with France regarding the development needs of China's air transport market," it adds. "Both parties are happy about the prospect of signing new contracts in the future." The statement follows a framework agreement to ramp up A320 output at the Tianjin plant to six aircraft monthly by early 2020. The plant currently produces four aircraft per month. Airbus is also reportedly offering China a role in its A380 production, in hopes of winning more orders for the slowselling jet. The airframer would only say that it attaches great importance to the Chinese market and is committed to enhancing cooperation with China. "We believe it's in the interests of both sides," it says. "And China is one of the largest aviation markets and we're proud to support its growth with our comprehensive product portfolio from 100 to 600 seats."

The agreement targets a ramp-up in production to five aircraft per month by early 2019 and six per month by early 2020. FALA opened in 2008; as of the end of 2017, 354 A320 family aircraft have rolled off the Tianjin line for delivery to Airbus customers in China and the Asia-Pacific region. In October 2017, FALA completed assembly of its first A320neo, which was subsequently delivered to AirAsia. FALA is one of three Airbus single-aisle assembly lines worldwide, in addition to facilities in Toulouse and Hamburg. Also on Jan. 9, Airbus COO and president Commercial Aircraft Fabrice Brégier and China’s National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) chairman He Lifeng signed an MOU to further develop industrial cooperation in Tianjin, aiming to strengthen cooperation on technical innovation, engineering capabilities and supply chain extension. Effective Jan. 8, George Xu—former FALA board chairman from 2011 to 2014—was appointed Airbus China CEO, succeeding Eric Chen. Xu will be responsible for all Airbus commercial aircraft, defense and space business in China, Airbus said.

The cabinet decision was announced on 10 January. New Delhi says its intention is "to liberalise and simplify the FDI policy so as to improve ease of doing business in the country." "This will lead to larger FDI inflows, contributing to growth of investment, income and employment." Meanwhile, substantial ownership and effective control of Air India shall continue to remain with Indian nationals. This format is followed by both Tata Sons' joint venture airlines, where Singapore Airlines has a 49% stake in Vistara and AirAsia a 49% stake in AirAsia India. The move could increase Air India's attractiveness to foreign airlines, as New Delhi undergoes a process to divest the Star Alliance carrier. Low-cost carrier IndiGo has stated its intention to acquire Air India's international operations, while Vistara's interest has been widely reported. In 2015, Qatar Airways said that it was in talks IndiGo, but did not state the scope of the discussions and also quashed reports of a move to acquire a stake in SpiceJet. IndiGo, however, confirmed that it was in preliminary discussions with Qatar ―to explore potential marketing arrangements based on mutual interests‖.

www.ch-aviation.com Cabinet allows foreign airlines to acquire Air India equity The Cabinet of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has approved changes to local legislation which had previously barred foreign investment in stateowned national carrier, Air India (AI, Mumbai Int'l). Minutes of the latest Cabinet meeting state that foreign airlines will now be allowed to control up to 49% of Air India's paid up share capital. However, substantial ownership and effective control of the airline must remain in the hands of an Indian National. The shift in policy follows Modi's decision to press on with the privatization of Air India despite a recent Parliamentary Standing Committee on Transport, Tourism & Culture recommendation that government should defer the process in favour of absorbing the airline's INR488.77 billion rupee (USD7.67 billion) debt overhang following which, it should be given a five-year grace period to turn profitable. An interim report published by The Business Standard said the committee had noted that Air India was making progress with its ten-year Turnaround Plan (TAP), set to run from 2012 to 2022, and has shown "an overall improvement in various parameters and every indication is that it is coming out of the red". The committee, therefore, concluded that government should review its decision to privatise or disinvest Air India and explore the possibility of "an alternative to disinvestment of our national carrier which is our national pride". "At the end of TAP period, the government may evaluate the financial and performance status of Air India and take a decision accordingly," it said. Narendra Modi's government has committed itself to divesting itself of Air India, long a millstone around the national fiscus's neck. A provisional June 2018 deadline for the privatization process's completion has been set. Thus far, IndiGo Airlines (6E, Delhi Int'l) parent firm Interglobe Aviation has openly expressed its interest in acquiring Air India's longhaul business despite government's reaffirmation that it would prefer to dispose of Air India and Air India Express (IX, Mumbai Int'l) together. Other potential bidders include India’s Tata Group and Singapore Airlines (SQ, Singapore Changi) both of which are shareholders in Vistara (UK, Delhi Int'l).

Ethiopian Aviation Holding Group has announced that its Ethiopian Cargo and Logistics Services unit has committed to lease two B737-800(SF)s from GECAS. The aircraft, which will undergo conversion with Aeronautical Engineers, Inc. (AEI), will deliver in June 2018 and January 2019 respectively. Ethiopian's last B737 freighter, B737-400(F) ET-AQV (msn 28493), was written off in January 2015 following a landing incident at Accra, Ghana. Ethiopian Cargo currently operates a fleet of six B777Fs and five B757-200(PF)s on flights to 39 destinations in Africa, the Middle East, Asia, the Americas, and Europe. It also has orders with Boeing(BOE, Chicago O'Hare) for four more B777(F)s.

http://atwonline.com Ethiopian to lease Boeing 737 freighters from GECAS Ethiopian Cargo and Logistics Services has signed an agreement with lessor GECAS to take the first two Boeing 737-800SF freighters to be converted by Miami, Florida-based Aeronautical Engineers Inc. (AEI). First delivery is expected in June 2018, with the second to follow in January 2019. Ethiopian Cargo and Logistics Services is a division of the Ethiopian Airlines Group. ―The aircraft will be a great complement to our existing fleet of 777 and 757 freighters,‖ Ethiopian Airlines Group CEO Tewolde Gebremariam said. The AEI-converted cargo aircraft accommodates 11 full-height containers plus one AEP/AEH, a main deck payload of up to 52,000 lb. (23,587 kg( and uses AEI’s hydraulically operated cargo door. ―In line with our Vision 2025 Ethiopian Cargo and Logistics strategic roadmap, we are expanding our cargo fleet and network to support trade within Africa and with the rest of the world by facilitating the export of perishables and the import of high-value goods into the continent,‖ Gebremariam said. ―We have been working with AEI on this program since 2015 and look forward to delivering the first AEI converted 737-800SF to Ethiopian Airlines,‖ GECAS SVP & manager-cargo aircraft group Richard Greener said. ―The airline is joining a growing number of combination carriers planning to operate this aircraft either for replacement of aging freighters or for growth.‖ Ethiopian Cargo and Logistics operates a network of more than 90 destinations on both freighter and belly hold services. It is also the largest network cargo operator in Africa. It has a fleet of six Boeing 777 and two 757 freighters and ordered four more 777Fs at the November 2017 Dubai Air Show. Ethiopian’s cargo terminal in Addis Ababa has an annual capacity of one million tons.

The Iranian government has said it expects delays in the delivery of its first Boeing jets. Iran Air (IR, Tehran Mehrabad) ordered fifty B737 MAX 8s, fifteen B777-300(ER)s, and fifteen B777-9s from the US manufacturer in December 2016 with deliveries of its first jets B777-300(ER)s - having been scheduled for April this year. However, according to the ISNA news agency, Deputy Minister of Roads and Urban Development, Fakhriya Kashan, said last week that Tehran now expects the first B777s to arrive during the final quarter of this year. Kashan also said that despite US President Donald Trump's sabre-rattling, the export licences granted to Boeing, Airbus, and Avions de Transport Régional by the US Office of Foreign Asset Control (OFAC) were still valid and that no changes had been made. Last week, Vali Azarvash, the managing director of the Atieh Saba Investment Company, one of the main shareholders of Iran Aseman Airlines (EP, Tehran Mehrabad), told the Fars news agency that the carrier would likely firm up its options for thirty B737 MAX 8s should Washington maintain its current trade stance with Tehran.

Garuda Indonesia has achieved its aim of deferring the arrival of its remaining Boeing 737 MAX orders, with the next deliveries now scheduled for 2020. The carrier has already received its first 737-8 delivery, but under its revised plan the rest will arrive between 2020 and 2024, an airline spokesman told ATW’s sister publication Aviation Daily. Geneva – The International Air Transport Association (IATA) released data for global air freight markets showing that demand, measured in freight tonne kilometers (FTKs), climbed 8.8% in November 2017 compared to the year-earlier period. This was an increase from the 5.8% annual growth recorded in October 2017. Despite indicators pointing to air cargo having passed a cyclical growth peak, demand remains strong. Freight capacity, measured in available freight tonne kilometers (AFTKs), rose by 4.0% year-on-year in November. This was the 16th consecutive month in which demand growth outstripped capacity growth, which is positive for industry load factors, yields, and financial performance. The uptick in freight growth coincides with the traditional period of strong demand seen in the fourth quarter. November's robust performance puts the air cargo industry on track to achieve its strongest operational and financial performance since the post-global financial crisis rebound in 2010. The Purchasing Managers Index (PMI) for manufacturing and export orders, which has tracked sideways for much of 2017, reached a seven-year high in the fourth quarter signifying that growth is carrying momentum into 2018. "Air freight demand remains robust. November showed 8.8% year-onyear growth, keeping up the momentum that will make 2017 the strongest year for air cargo since 2010. And there are several indicators that 2018 will be a good year as well. In particular, buoyant consumer confidence, the growth of international e-commerce and the broadbased global economic upturn are cause for optimism as we head into the New Year," said Alexandre de Juniac, IATA's Director General and CEO.

Regional Performance Airlines in all regions reported an increase in total year-on-year demand in November. Asia-Pacific airlines saw freight volumes increase by 8.1% and capacity expand by 1.2% in November, compared to the same period last year. The region's manufacturers continue to enjoy buoyant export order books. And the major exporters in China and Japan are reporting rising demand supported in part by a pick-up in economic activity in Europe and a continued solid performance from the US. This is expected to support demand into the New Year. North American carriers posted an increase in freight volumes of 9.6% for November. Capacity increased 3.9%. The strength of the US economy and the US dollar have improved the inbound freight market in recent years. Data from the US Census Bureau shows an 11.6% year-on-year increase in air imports to the US in the first ten months of 2017, compared to a slower rise in exports of 6.7%. The recently agreed US tax reform bill may also help to support freight volumes in the period ahead. European airlines posted a 9.9% increase in freight demand in November and a capacity increase of 4.7%. Concerns that the recent strengthening of the euro might have affected the region's exporters have not materialized. Europe's manufacturers' export orders are growing at their fastest pace on record. This is expected to support demand into the New Year.

During the same period carriers in the region posted 6.6% growth in international freight volumes - the slowest regional year-on-year growth for the second time in three months. However, seasonally-adjusted international freight volumes have continued to trend upwards at a rate of 8-10% over the past six months. Notably, freight load factors have increased substantially on routes to and from the Middle East to North America, indicating a fall in capacity flown on the route. Latin American airlines experienced a growth in demand of 9.4% in November and a capacity increase of 11.1% compared to the same period in 2016. International freight volumes rose by 9.6% over the same period. This is well ahead of the fiveyear average growth rate of 0.9%. The pick-up in demand comes alongside signs of economic recovery in the region's largest economy, Brazil. Seasonally-adjusted international freight volumes are now back to the levels seen at the end of 2014. African carriers posted the largest year-on-year increase in demand of all regions in November, with freight volumes rising 17.5%. Capacity increased 24%. During the same period international freight volumes grew by 17.8%, a deceleration from 27.2% in October. However, this still was the 13th month of double-digit increases. Demand has been boosted by very strong growth in Africa-Asia trade which increased by more than 67% in the first ten months of the year.
