وزٌر الطٌران :احتماالت عودة السٌاحة الروسٌة أكتوبر المقبل كتبت ــ تهانى عبد الرحٌم وهشام عبد العزٌز أعلن شرٌؾ فتحى وزٌر الطٌران المدنً ،أن مسألة عودة السٌاحة الروسٌة لٌس أزمة سٌاسٌة كما أشٌع فى الفترة الماضٌة ،وأضاؾ وزٌر الطٌران خالل مؤتمر صحفى امس أنه تم االتفاق مع الجانب الروسى على خارطة طرٌق من خالل وصول عدة وفود لتفقد المنتجعات السٌاحٌة والفنادق فى آكتوبر المقبل ،وكذلك عرض آخر ما توصلت إلٌه لجان التحقٌق ،مؤكدا أنه ال ٌوجد أى إجراء روسى ٌقوم بالمساس بالسٌادة المصرٌة. وقال أنه ٌتم حالٌا تالفى كافة المالحظات التى ابداها الجانب الروسى ، والتعاقد على نظام امنى خاص على البوابات لدخول العاملٌن بالمطارات الى الصاالت ،عن طرٌق بصمة الٌد وذلك احد المطالب الروسٌة قال وزٌر الطٌران إنه تم التواصل مع البنك المركزى على حل أزمة المستحقات المتأخرة لشركات الطٌران األجنبٌة العاملة فى مصر ،وسٌتم ذلك من خالل سداد مستحقات هذه الشركات بالنقد األجنبى من خالل برامج سداد خالل الفترة المقبلة ،وذلك لتجاوز هذه األزمة فى إطار التسهٌالت التى تقدمها الوزارة لشركات الطٌران األجنبٌة العاملة فى مصر وتذلٌل كافة العقبات لتنشٌط حركة السٌاحة والسفر الوافدة من وإلى مصر.
http://www.gomhuriaonline.com/ راشد :الطٌران عصب السٌاحة وندعم الناقل الوطنً كتبت-أسماء سمٌر التقى وزٌر السٌاحة ٌحٌى راشد ممثلً لجنة السٌاحة والتسوٌق بغرفة الشركات السٌاحٌة باألقصر وذلك ضمن الزٌارة التً قام بها الوزٌر لألقصر وبدء األعمال التحضٌرٌة للقمة الخامسة لمؤتمر سٌاحة المدن المزمع إقامته باألقصر نهاٌة أكتوبر القادم ،واستضافة الجلسة 104للمجلس التنفٌذي لمنظمة السٌاحة العالمٌة فً مستهل نوفمبر القادم ،وذلك بالتنسٌق مع محمد بدر محافظ األقصر. أكد راشد علً أهمٌة الوضع فً االعتبار أن إستراتٌجٌة الوزارة الستعادة الحركة السٌاحٌة لن تختلف عن المحاور التً تم اإلعالن عنها مسبقا ً والتً ترتكز بالدرجة األولى على استعادة الحركة السٌاحٌة لمعدالتها الطبٌعٌة وزٌادتها ،من خالل االعتماد على األسواق البدٌلة والواعدة وذلك من خالل الشركاء السٌاحٌٌن. وأشار الوزٌر إلى حرصه على التواصل والتنسٌق مع ممثلً القطاع السٌاحً الخاص ،الفتا ً إلى أنه التقى ممثلً القطاع السٌاحً الخاص بشرم الشٌخ األسبوع الماضً. وأكد راشد على أن الطٌران عصب السٌاحة وأن الوزارة تقوم بتدعٌم الناقل الوطنً والتنسٌق التكاملً مع قطاع الطٌران لتعزٌز الحركة السٌاحٌة ،الفتا إلى أن شركات الطٌران العارض األخرى بدأت فً استئناف االتصال مع وزارة السٌاحة وانه بالفعل تم توقٌع بعض العقود فً األٌام الماضٌة. وأوضح الوزٌر حرص الوزارة على التزامها فً أن تضع استعادة الحركة السٌاحٌة لألقصر على رأس أولوٌاتها ،وأن الوزارة تعمل جاهدة إلعادة األقصر ألزهى عصورها سواء بالنسبة للتنسٌق الحضري أو البعد االجتماعً.
http://www.gomhuriaonline.com/ وأضاؾ راشد أنه تم تحمٌل 280بندا من واقع 550بند فٌما ٌتعلق بالموقع االلكترونً الذي تم تدشٌنه للتروٌج للسٌاحة المصرٌة ،الفتا إلى أن الموقع ٌُعد من أهم المواقع العالمٌة الحدٌثة حالٌا ً وٌتم تحدٌثه باستمرار من خالل تحمٌل محركات الحجز والطٌران على الموقع. وأستعرض الوزٌر أهمٌة التوجه التكنولوجً فً التروٌج للسٌاحة المصرٌة وتقدٌم فرص إٌجابٌة من شأنها رفع معدالت الطلب على المقصد السٌاحً المصري ،الفتا إلى أن خطة التحرك الحالٌة أٌضا ً تتضمن تنفٌذ بعض الحمالت التروٌجٌة فً العدٌد من األسواق. وأشار الوزٌر إلى أن الحملة الدعائٌة كانت لها تأثٌرات إٌجابٌة لجلب السائحٌن من المنطقة العربٌة ،الفتا إلى أنه سٌتم تقٌٌم الحملة فً الدول األخرى بما سٌكون له مردود إٌجابً فً استعادة الحركة السٌاحٌة. وأوضح الوزٌر أهمٌة التحول األخضر فً قطاع الفنادق واستخدام تطبٌقات الطاقة الشمسٌة وانه ٌتم دراسة استخدام الطاقة الشمسٌة فً بعض فنادق األقصر أسوة بفنادق شرم الشٌخ والؽردقة ،مشدداً على أهمٌة االستعداد لتقدٌم خدمات أفضل ورفع معدالت الجودة عندما تعود السٌاحة لمعدالتها. ومن جانبه أعرب محمد بدر محافظ األقصر عن تفاؤله فً استعادة حركة السٌاحة إلى األقصر والمضً قدما ً نحو تقدٌم أفضل الخدمات للسائحٌن. وأستعرض المحافظ من خالل عرض تقدٌمً ما تم تطوٌره بالمناطق األثرٌة والسٌاحٌة باألقصر ،مشٌراً إلى أن األقصر تضم 4900ؼرفة سٌاحٌة و 36مطعم و 72ذهبٌة و220 مركب شراعً ،مؤكدا أن التنسٌق مع وزارة السٌاحة كان مثمرا فً إعادة إنارة البر الؽربً وتطوٌر طرٌق الكباش. وأكد أعضاء الؽرفة أنه جارى إعادة تأهٌل 10000من العاملٌن بالقطاع السٌاحً والفندقً باألقصر وذلك لرفع كفاءة الموارد البشرٌة العاملة فً القطاع السٌاحً وتحقٌق طفرة على مستوى الخدمة الفندقٌة وفى مجال التدرٌب طالب أعضاء الؽرفة االهتمام ببرامج التدرٌب للعاملٌن وأقترح الوزٌر االستعانة بالعاملٌن بفنادق الخمس نجوم لتدرٌب العاملٌن بالفنادق ذات المستوى األقل. وطالب أعضاء الؽرفة تشكٌل مجموعات عمل تسوٌقٌة لألقصر وأسوان والمراكب العائمة الستهداؾ مجموعة من األسواق األوروبٌة ومجموعة أخرى من األسواق األسٌوٌة، وتطرقت المناقشات إلى أحوال المراسً والفنادق العائمة التً كانت تجذب قرابة 1,5إلى 2 ملٌون سائح سنوٌا من عدد السائحٌن الوافدٌن لألقصر وأسوان.
http://www.vetogate.com/ أسعار تذاكر طٌران «أسوان -القاهرة» خٌالٌة «تقرٌر» دعاء إبراهٌم محمود أمرا فً ؼاٌة الصعوبة سواء على أبناء المحافظة أو أصبح السفر إلى محافظة أسوان ً القادمٌن إلٌها فً رحالت السٌاحة الداخلٌة ،حٌث تعانى المحافظة من طرق ؼٌر ممهدة،ومحطات سكة حدٌد متهالكة وؼٌر مرصوفة وتذاكر القطارات دائ ًما ؼٌر موجودة، ً فضال عن النقل الجوى الذي أصبحت التذكرة بٌن أسوان والقاهرة بأسعار تعجٌزٌة،تبدأ من نحو 500جنٌه وتصل إلى 1300جنٌه. تقدم العاملٌن بالقطاع السٌاحى فً محافظتى أسوان واألقصر منذ عدة سنوات ،بمقترحات لوزٌرى الطٌران والسٌاحة بتخفٌض األسعار لجذبب السٌاحة الداخلٌة ،وخاصة مع الركود التً تواجهه معظم محافظات مصر السٌاحٌة وؼٌاب السٌاحة الخارجٌة،لكن دون جدوى وظلت األسعار ترتفع وتشكل عبئا على المواطنٌن. ومن ناحٌته ،قال الخبٌر السٌاحى بأسوان عبد الناصر صابر ،إن وسائل المواصالت من أهم مقومات التنمٌة وهو ماتفتقده محافظة أسوان حٌث الطرق البرٌة ؼٌر ممهدة والسكة الحدٌد دائما ال توجد تذاكر لبٌعها فً السوق السوداء وعدم وجود رقابة والنقل الجوى أسعاره موضحا أن النقل الجوى أصبح من األساسٌات بالنسبة ألبناء محافظة أسوان أو باهظة، ً القادمٌن إلٌها فً رحالت السٌاحة الداخلٌة أو ألى سبب آخر. أضاؾ لـ"فٌتو " أن أسعار تذاكر الطٌران بٌن أسوان والقاهرة مبالػ فٌها مبالػ فٌها حٌث ونادرا عندما ٌتم الحصول علٌها وتصل إلى 1300جنٌه للدرجة تبدأ من 450جنٌها تقرٌ ًبا ً األولى ،بجانب أن هناك تكلفة أخرى على المسافر لألنتقال إلى مطار أسوان أو مطار القاهرة. وأشار إلى أن أسوان بها عدد كبٌر من السكان وفٌها مشارٌع عمالقة والمترددٌن علٌها عددهم كبٌر لذلك ٌجب أن ٌكون النقل الجوى مرٌح ألنه إحدى حقوق المواطن،وارتفاع األسعار ٌحرم العدٌد من األشخاص من السفر أو قضاء اإلجازة حتى ال ٌتحملوا عبئا مادٌا آخر بجانب متطلبات الحٌاة. أوضح صابر" أن ارتفاع أسعار تذاكر الطٌران بٌن القاهرة وأسوان لها تأثٌر سلبى على حركة السٌاحة الداخلٌة وتراجعها حٌث ٌتحمل الشخص الواحد تكلفة ذهاب وعودة تتراوح مابٌن ألؾ أو ألفٌن جنٌ ًها باإلضافة إلى تكلفة اإلقامة بالمحافظة والتنزه مما ٌعدل العدٌد عن فكرة قضاء اإلجازة فً أسوان.
http://www.vetogate.com/ أشار إلى أن سعر تذكرة الطٌران بٌن أسوان القاهرة تعادل سعرها بٌن أسوان جدة عبر ً فضال عن أنخفاض أسعار تذاكر الطٌران الشارتر التً تأتى من دول أوروبا إلى شركة ناسا، األقصر أو أسوان والتً ٌتراوح سعرها مابٌن 100أو ٌ 150ورو ،وٌجب تدعٌم طرق النقل فً أسوان سواء البرى أوالجوى أوالسكة الحدٌد ،وخاصة الجوى ألنه مهم لدى شرائح عدٌدة فً المجتمع ،ومن الضرورة أن تكون أسعاره مناسبة. وفى ذات السٌاق قال الخبٌر السٌاحى أشرؾ فرج إن أسعار تذاكر الطٌران أصبحت مرتفعة جدًا ومن الصعب أن تأتى عائلة بأكملها إلى األقصر أو أسوان بتلك األسعار التً تكلفهم آالؾ الجنٌهات ،لعمل سٌاحة وخاصة أن أسعار التذاكر أصبحت أؼلى من تكلفة الرحلة التً موضحا أن أسعار التذاكر فً السنوات الماضٌة كانت موحدة ،وكان بها تستؽرق بعض األٌام، ً مٌزة استرداد قٌمة التذكرة فً حالة عدم السفر ألى ظرؾ ٌتعرض له المسافر. أضاؾ لـ"فٌتو" أن تذاكر الطٌران حالٌا أصبحت شرائح أي درجات أقل شرٌحة 400جنٌه من القاهرة إلى األقصر وأكبر شرٌحة 950والدرجة األولى سعرها ٌصل إلى 1200جنٌه، وشرٌحة 400جنٌه وهى أقل سعر ال ٌحصل علٌها سوى من لدٌه واسطة ،أما المواطن مشٌرا إلى أن فً حالة تؽٌٌر مٌعاد رحلة العادى ٌحجز تذكرته بنحو 700أو 800أو أكثر، ً ٌدفع فرق نحو 103جنٌهات ثمن التؽٌر ،وفى حالة اختالؾ الدرجة ٌتم دفع رسوم أخرى كفرق سعر للدرجة التً تم الحجز علٌها،بسبب تلك القٌود واألسعار التعجٌزٌة معظم رحالت السٌاحة الداخلٌة بالقطارات أو السوبر جٌت.
http://www.vetogate.com/ «مصر للطٌران» تضع خطة لتعوٌض خسائر توقؾ السٌاحة مؤمن التهامً_محروس هنداوي شهدت الخدمات األرضٌة لشركة مصر للطٌران ،خسائر كبٌرة نتٌجة لالضطرابات العدٌدة التً شهدتها خالل الفترة الماضٌة وتأثر حركة الطٌران بحادث الطائرة الروسٌة باإلضافة إلى األحداث التً أعقبت الثورة. من جانبه قال أحمد شاهٌن ،رئٌس شركة مصر للطٌران للخدمات األرضٌة" :إن خسائر الشركة بلؽت 150ملٌون جنٌه بسبب انخفاض عدد الرحالت والذي وصل إلى %40 مقارنة بنسبة الرحالت قبل الثورة وحادث سقوط طائرة بارٌس". وأضاؾ رئٌس شركة مصر للطٌران للخدمات األرضٌة ،أنه تم وضع خطة للشركة وسٌتم عرضها على الجمعٌة العمومٌة للشركة القابضة ،وهً تتضمن إمكانٌات كبٌرة حٌث تم إنشاء موضحا أنه تم التعاقد مع مصنع معدنً إلنتاج بعض المعدات التً تعتمد علٌها الشركة، ً الخطوط اإلٌطالٌة لشراء عدد من المعدات التً ٌقوم بإنتاجها المصنع. وأشار "شاهٌن" إلى أن الشركة تعمل حال ًٌا على تسوٌق منتجاتها بالخارج ،وفتح السوق لعرض العدٌد من المنتجات التً ٌقوم المصنع بإنتاجها ،باإلضافة إلى إنتاج الكونترات لتصدٌره للدول المجاورة.

تأخر إقالع رحلة «مصر للطٌران» إلى بروكسل بسبب عطل فنً مؤمن التهامً_محروس هنداوي_محمد سٌد شهد مطار القاهرة الدولً ،الٌوم االثنٌن ،تأخر إقالع رحلة «مصر للطٌران» المتجهة إلى بروكسٌل لمدة ساعتٌن؛ بسبب وجود عطل فنً بالطائرة. وأفاد مصدر بمطار القاهرة ،أن رحلة «مصر للطٌران» المتجهة إلى بروكسٌل ،تأخرت مشٌرا إلى أنه تم استدعاء خبراء الصٌانة إلصالح العطل. ساعتٌن بسبب عطل فنً، ً ضا إلى تأخر إقالع رحلة الخطوط الٌمنٌة ساعة ونصؾ الساعة؛ نتٌجة وأشار المصدر أٌ ً لظروؾ التشؽٌل.

مشاجرة حامٌة بٌن ركاب طائرة الؽردقة وموظفى مصر للطٌران محمد عبدالناصر شهدت صالة السفر الداخلٌة بمطار القاهرة ،الٌوم اإلثنٌن ،مشاجرة حامٌة بٌن بعض ركاب رحلة مصر للطٌران المتجهة إلى الغردقة وموظفى الشركة بعد تأخر إقالع الطائرة حوالى أربع ساعات بسبب عملٌات صٌانة. قالت مصادر مطلعة بمطار القاهرة ،إنه بعد إنهاء إجراءات سفر ركاب رحلة مصر للطٌران رقم 331إلى الغردقة فوجىء الركاب بعدم صعودهم إلى الطائرة وعندما طال األمر حدثت مشادات بٌن عدد من الركاب وموظفى مصر للطٌران تطورت إلى تشابك باألٌدى وتدخل رجال الشرطة لإلصالح بٌنهما. وأوضح مسئول الشركة بأن عملٌات صٌانة للطائرة تسببت فى تأخرها وجارى اإلنتهاء من عملٌات الصٌانة وتم تحرٌرمذكرة صلح بٌن الطرفٌن.

وصرحت مصادر مطلعة بوزارة الطٌران بأن الوزٌر سٌعرض أٌضا آخر نتائج التحقٌقات التى تجرى فى كشف مالبسات سقوط الطائرتٌن الروسٌة 31أكتوبر الماضى بوسط سٌناء ومصر للطٌران القادمة من بارٌس 29ماٌو الماضى ونتائج الزٌارات واإلتصاالت التى تمت بٌن مصر وروسٌا بشأن استئناف حركة الطٌران والسٌاحة الروسٌة لمصر وماتم إتخاذه من خطوات لزٌادة التأمٌن بمطارات مصر إلى جانب عرض عملٌات التطوٌر التى تتم فى المطارات والشركات التابعة للوزارة لرفع كفاءتها وطاقتها اإلستٌعابٌة.

What are the results of your visit to Russia? Our bilateral relations with Russia are more expansive than cooperation in just one sector. We deal with it comprehensively. We are working hard to increase security at airports to resume flights with Russia. Investigations on the fall of the Russian aeroplane are in the hands of the general prosecutors. What were the requirements from Russia in terms of security? The Russian side requested that wall cameras and biometric devices be installed to regulate entry and exit of airport employees. The Ministry of Civil Aviation began processing the Russian requests. All the devices that arrived at Egyptian airports in the first phase were not due to demands from any country, but rather a previous plan penned by the ministry and airport authorities. We had several meetings with Russian officials and discussed a security cooperation protocol in Egyptian airports. Is it true that a special hall will be dedicated to Russian tourists or that Russian security will be allowed to escort groups? No, all these rumours are false. However, it is ordinary for a country to request a special hall for its nationals, but this would first require a great number of that country‘s tourists coming to Egypt. This is not a matter of Egyptian sovereignty over its territory. In some countries, EgyptAir requires an Egyptian escort for its passengers.

A Russian delegation is scheduled to visit Egypt end of August. What are the details about the visit? The delegation will discuss strengthening security capacities at airports with Egyptian security teams. Egypt has received two Russian delegations in the past 40 days to inspect security at hotels and resorts in Sharm El-Sheikh and Hurghada, as well as to look into the latest developments of the investigations on the Russian airliner fall. How was EgyptAir affected by the halt in Russian flights? There were several incidents that took place in a short time—the fall of the Russian plane, hijacking of another, and finally the MS804 flight that crashed into the Mediterranean. Thus, EgyptAir has suffered a great deal in the past period. If any other company had these incidents, it would have announced bankruptcy. But EgyptAir is based on a solid foundation and has leaders with expertise in both the financial and the technical aspects. Ground services at EgyptAir suffered losses of more than EGP 300m since the fall of the Russian plane. What are EgyptAir’s expansion plans? The growth of EgyptAir over the past years was very moderate, in comparison with other airlines operating in the region. EgyptAir is now seeking to pay off debts owed to the Ministry of Petroleum, including a portion from current consumption as well as accumulated debts. We have a plan to add 70 new aircrafts to the fleet over the next five years. This is a long-term plan that is based on flexibility in order to cope with changing circumstances.

Did the Egyptian pound depreciation against the US dollar impact EgyptAir? The company witnessed greater losses after the devaluation of the Egyptian pound. About 84% of the company‘s costs are in dollars, which also increased financial burdens. EgyptAir has a national duty. Hence, it operates in all conditions without aiming for profit, but to maintain the interests of the state. The company was one of the most important communication channels with the world after the 25 January Revolution. Did EgyptAir raise its tickets prices to cope with the increasing costs? EgyptAir did not raise prices of domestic flights. International flight tickets were raised by 10%—which is still insufficient to offset the impact of the dollar exchange rate against the pound. What are the details of the deal with Dubai Aerospace Enterprise for nine Boeing aircrafts? The Chinese bank that was supposed to finance the deal backed out after EgyptAir had already ordered the new aircrafts. The company could not give the deal away, as this would have hindered our expansion plans, so the deal will be an ordinary sell and leaseback deal. This will save on the monthly rental of the planes, and EgyptAir will not bear any additional financial burdens, as the new planes will replace older ones that we were aiming to dispose of anyway. The deal between EgyptAir and Boeing for nine 737-800 Boeing aircrafts was worth $864m. Egypt currently has 20 NG737-800 aircrafts. How is EgyptAir cooperating with General Electric? The cooperation with General Electric is to develop the engines workshop at EgyptAir.

There is a good market for maintenance, as 38% of the company‘s business is maintenance of other companies‘ engines. About 60% of EgyptAir‘s fleet has General Electric engines and CFM International engines or turbines. You announced that EgyptAir intends to sell a number of dilapidated aircrafts. What is new in this regard? EgyptAir has been facing difficulties disposing of its older aircrafts— mainly due to laws and procedures related to the sale of assets. The period for evaluating and pricing old planes is very long. The long period depreciates the prices, but we should not stress the committee conducting the evaluation. This law is binding for everyone. We are, however, waiting for proposals to lease these aeroplanes as we wait for the evaluation process to be completed. EgyptAir is currently renting out nine of its planes, which generates revenue of $350m per year. What are the latest developments with the airport city? The project needs the mind of real estate developers‘ more than just investors. Two plots of land have been selected as part of the project, but we are waiting for the cabinet to amend some laws to be put forward to investors. There is a study being conducted for selling the lands instead of offering them for usufruct. The ministry is considering some proposals for the development of the infrastructure within the project to increase revenue. There are also three alternatives under consideration, including resorting to the help of specialised real estate companies.

The Ministry of Civil Aviation announced earlier an agreement to supply Egyptian airports with Russian radars. Are there any new updates? We have paid advances on the deal, which would cover the entire Egyptian airspace. The Egyptian Airport Company has financed the project. It includes buying 21 radars from Russian companies. In later stages, we will resort to government borrowing to complete the deal. The contract was signed in February between the Egyptian Airport Company and Russian companies to import 21 radar stations in a deal worth $300m—making it the largest deal in the history of civil aviation in Egypt. It is expected to make the Egyptian airspace one of the safest in the world. There have been proposals to increase EgyptAir’s capital. How is this going? The idea of increasing the company‘s capital was proposed by the government. The state, however, has priorities in distributing the budget. This makes the government seek alternatives in order to finance the capital increase. What is the ministry’s stance on Britain suspending its flights to and from Sharm El-Sheikh? The Egyptian aviation sector does not have any new offer to present to the British side. We are currently waiting for their decision. Egypt has fulfilled all the procedures and requirements that Britain put forward to resume flights to Sharm El-Sheikh; it is in their hands now. We do not have any plans to visit the UK—at least for now.

But we cannot build on a subsiding foundation, as it will eventually fail. We must discuss with foreign companies and offer them discounts in exchange for an added-value to the Egyptian economy. The Ministry of Civil Aviation is ready to provide assistance to all companies, so long as they increase tourist inflow to Egypt. There was a project to launch two satellites belonging to Navisat satellite system. What are the latest developments of this project? The Egyptian Armed Forces is coordinating this project with Navisat satellite systems. Navisat satellite systems operates in the Middle East and Africa. It is owned by the Egyptian government and has put forward a proposal to investors to manufacture satellites. The satellites are planned to provide communication services for aviation traffic, airlines, and aero-navigation in the region. They are planned to meet the standards of the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO). Moreover, they would offer internet services and commercial communications. Air China to launch first flights to Poland Air China will continue to expand its presence in Eastern Europe next month with the launch of its first ever direct flights to Poland. Commencing on 21 September 2016, the carrier will operate four weekly flights direct between Beijing and Warsaw. The outbound services will depart Beijing‘s Capital International Airport every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday at 0230 and arrive at the Polish capital‘s Chopin Airport at 0610. The return flights then leave Warsaw at 1410 on the same days and get back to Beijing at 0430 the next morning. Air China will deploy its 301-seat Airbus A330 aircraft on the route, configured with 30 seats in business class, 16 in premium economy and 255 in economy. On the remaining three days of the week, Air China‘s Star Alliance partner, LOT Polish Airlines, operates the Beijing-Warsaw route using its Boeing 787 aircraft. Aside from pointing out that the current system works fairly for all sides, the principal point of concern regarding the newly introduced system is the instant performance reviews. British Airways has introduced a system whereby passengers and colleagues can now provide instant feedback on staff performance. The information is presented via a ‗dashboard‘ which displays staff league tables and red warning lights warning if a cabin crew member‘s performance has been rated as poor. What cabin crew are concerned about is the fact that many passengers may well complain about elements of the service provided that are beyond cabin crew control, such as a faulty entertainment system or malfunctioning air conditioning, without making specific mention. Matt Smith, a regional Unite officer, said: ―Our members have voted overwhelmingly against the introduction of this flawed dashboard scheme. The BA management should note the enormous strength of feeling against this policy with what, we suspect, is a hidden agenda of future job losses. A perfectly adequate performance management policy already exists. ―It is completely unfair to expect them to be placed in a league table, competing against each other, over onboard issues that are clearly out of their control. ―Cabin crew time spent on these wasteful performance schemes is crew time not giving passengers value for money in a highly competitive premium market.‖

Half-year revenue was up to 13.5 billion lira compared to 12.3 billion lira year-over-year (YOY), producing an YOY operating loss of 1.2 million lira compared to a 517-million-lira profit. Earnings before interest and taxes dropped significantly: 13 points from 4.9% to 8.1% YOY. Turkish Airlines CEO Temel Kotil told ATW recently the carrier was feeling pressure on yields as it grows its transfer business to compensate for a drop in local demand caused by political and economic instabilities in Turkey and Europe. For the first half, international-to-international transfer passengers increased by 16.9% YOY at the carrier‘s hub Istanbul Ataturk Airport. The aircraft originally began its life as the HAV304 for the U.S. Army in 2010. In 2012, the HAV was deemed unfit for the Army‘s needs and the ship was bought back by the U.K. After a successful crowdfunding effort, the HAV was reborn as the Airlander and was given a makeover with composite materials. During the flight, the ship flew around Cardington Airfield for about 20 minutes at speeds up to 40 mph before landing. According to Hybrid Air Vehicles, the creator of the blimp/plane/helicopter hybrid aircraft, the flight went smoothly. Back in March, the Airlander left the ground for the first time in its hangar in preparation for last week‘s flight. ―All test objectives were met during the flight,‖ said Hybrid Air Vehicles in a statement. ―These included the safe launch, flight and landing of the Airlander 10 and a series of gentle turns at increasing speed. Some technical tests on its hull pressure were also undertaken.‖ According to HAV, the aircraft is 302 feet long, weighs over 44,000 pounds, and can carry a 22,000 pound payload. The Airlander 10 gets 60 percent of its lift from internal helium gas and 40 percent from its aerodynamic form.
