تستهدف شركة مصر للطٌران للشحن الجوي ،تحدٌث وتطوٌر إحالل أسطول الشركة وذلك بإضافة 3طائرات من طراز إٌرباصٌ ،تم تحوٌلهم من طائرة ركاب إلى طائرات شحن بضائع. وقالت مصادر بالشركة الوطنٌة مصر للطٌران ،إنه من المقرر أن تتسلم الشركة أول طائرة من ضمن الثالث طائرات ،تم تحوٌلها من طائرة ركاب إلى طائرة شحن ٌولٌو المقبل.
وأضافت المصادر أن الطائرة بسعة إجمالٌة 65طنا ،وتمت إجراءات التحوٌل على مدار 10أشهر حتى اآلن فً مصنع تحوٌل طائرات بألمانٌا.

حل مطار دبى فى المرتبة األولى عالمٌا كأكثر مطارات العالم اشغاال من حٌث المسافرٌن الدولٌٌن للعام 2017للسنة الرابعة على التوالى مع استخدامه من قبل 88,2ملٌون مسافر ،وفقا لما أعلنت وكالة األنباء اإلماراتٌة (وام) االثنٌن. وازداد استخدام المسافرٌن الدولٌٌن للمطار اإلماراتى بـ 4,6ملٌون مسافر مقارنة بالعام السابق ،وفقا لوكالة االنباء ،رغم المنع المؤقت لحمل الحواسٌب المحمولة الذى فرض على الرحالت المتوجهة إلى الوالٌات المتحدة. وٌعد مطار دبى الذى ٌشكل مركزا رئٌسٌا للترانزٌت واحدا من بٌن عدة مطارات خلٌجٌة شهدت نموا هائال خالل األعوام األخٌرة ،ومنذ العام ،2014فاق عدد المسافرٌن الدولٌٌن عبر مطار دبى ،الذى ٌعد مركزا لشركة طٌران اإلمارات، مستخدمى مطار "هٌثرو" اللندنى. وفرضت الوالٌات المتحدة فى مارس العام الماضى حظرا على استخدام الحواسٌب المحمولة واألجهزة اللوحٌة األكبر من الهاتف الذكى العادى على متن الرحالت القادمة من عدة دول فى الشرق األوسط وشمال أفرٌقٌا بٌنها اإلمارات. لكن شركة طٌران اإلمارات أعلنت فى ٌولٌو أن طائراتها استثنٌت من الحظر بالنسبة للرحالت القادمة من دبى بعد تطبٌقها اجراءات أمنٌة جدٌدة.

أعلنت األرصاد الجوٌة الروسٌة أن موسكو ومدن روسٌة أخرى تعرضت لعاصفة ثلجٌة هً األقوى من نوعها فً تارٌخ األرصاد الجوٌة. ونقلت وكالة أنباء «إنترفاكس» الروسٌة ،عن مصادر فً األرصاد الجوٌة قولها إن حجم الثلوج التً سقطت فً موسكو خالل الٌومٌن الماضٌٌن بلغ 38سنتٌمترا؛ أي أكثر من الكمٌة المتوقعة شهرٌا فً فصل الشتاء ،وتوقعت المصادر زٌادة تساقط الثلوج لٌصل إلى ما ٌقارب 15سنتٌمترا فً موسكو. وأوضحت الوكالة أن أكثر من 20ألف حافلة شاركت فً عملٌة تنظٌف الشوارع والساحات من الثلوج ،كما نقلت عن مصادر طبٌة قولها إن شخصا قتل وأصٌب عدد آخر بجروح نتٌجة العاصفة التً أدت كذلك إلى سقوط أكثر من ألفً شجرة نتٌجة تراكم الثلوج علٌها وتحطٌم عشرات السٌارات. وذكرت أن تراكم الثلوج تسبب كذلك فً انقطاع التٌار الكهربائً عن 150تجمعا سكانٌا فً ضواحً موسكو ،فٌما ٌعمل الخبراء على مدار الساعة لمعالجة آثار هذه العاصفة الثلجٌة غٌر المسبوقة ،وشارك العسكرٌون الروس المرابطٌن فً ضواحً موسكو كذلك فً إزالة آثار العاصفة الثلجٌة ،و أعلنت سلطات المطارات فً موسكو تأجٌل عشرات الرحالت الجوٌة بسبب كثافة الثلوج المتساقطة فوق العاصمة الروسٌة. وأعلن عمدة العاصمة سٌرجً سوبٌانٌن أن جمٌع أجهزة الدولة تعمل بال انقطاع على معالجة الوضع ،وقرر أن تكون الدراسة فً المدارس طواعٌة حتى انتهاء العاصفة.

أعلن كمال مٌالد مدٌر عام الطٌران المدنى التونسى ،أنه تم االتفاق على استئناف رحالت الخطوط اإلماراتٌة الجوٌة من وإلى تونس ٌوم 25مارس القادم وذلك بعد إجراء العدٌد من االتصاالت المباشرة مع الجانب االماراتى على اعلى مستوى . وأضاف -فى تصرٌح إلذاعة "شمس إف إم" التونسٌة الٌوم االثنٌن -أن هذا التوقٌت تم اعتماده من قبل المنظمة الدولٌة لشركات النقل الجوى التى تفرض على شركات الطٌران ضبط برنامج رحالتها خاصة وأن الموسم الشتوى قد انتهى والموسم الصٌفى سٌنطلق ٌوم 25مارس القادم . وقال إن هذا التأخٌر ٌعتبر أمرا عادٌا ألن شركات الطٌران تبرمج رحالتها حسب المواسم والطائرات ولها التزامات على خطوط أخرى ،مضٌفا أن "االشكالٌات انتهت والخطوط االماراتٌة مستعدة للعودة ونحن كذلك " . وكانت وزارة النقل ،التونسٌة قد اصدرت فى الشهر المنقضى ،بٌانا ،اعلنت فٌه عن استئناف الخطوط اإلماراتٌة لرحالتها الجوٌة من وإلى تونس وذلك اثر رفع السلطات اإلماراتٌة المختصة إلجراءات المنع التى اتخذتها بحق المواطنات التونسٌات.

إخطارا من مكتب تلقت سلطات مطار القاهرة الدولى ،الٌوم اإلثنٌن، ً الخطوط الجوٌة الٌمنٌة ٌفٌد إلغاء إقالع رحالتها والمقررة الٌوم إلى الٌمن لعدم حصولها على التصرٌح الجوى من جانب قوات التحالف العربى الذى ٌشن غارات على عدة مناطق تابعة لسٌطرة المتمردٌن الحوثٌٌن. وأفاد مصدر مالحى ،أنه كان مقررا إقالع رحلة إلى مطار سٌؤون صباح الٌوم وتأجل إقالع الرحلة إلى أن تلقت سلطات المطار اإلخطار بااللغاء، وقامت سلطات المطار بتخصٌص فرٌق من العالقات العامة لنقل ركاب الرحلة إلحدى صاالت الترانزٌت لحٌن إجراء االتصاالت الالزمة إلقالع الرحلة مرة أخرى.

UPS expands nonstop to Dubai using 747-8F UPS Airlines is expanding its Boeing 747 Freighter network beyond Asia, announcing it has launched a round-the-world 747-8F operation that includes a new route between Dubai and the company's Louisville hub. The news comes several days after UPS announced it placed a firm order with Boeing for 14 new 747-8Fs. UPS started operating the new Louisville-Dubai route once weekly on 6 January and will transition the service to five-times weekly service starting 27 February, it says. At 6,691nm (12,392km), the route is the furthest regularlyscheduled route UPS has ever operated. The route is possible thanks to the ability of the General Electric GEnx-2B-powered 747-8F to carry "greater payload over long range", says UPS. The aircraft can carry 19% more weight and has 16% more volume than UPS' 747-400Fs, the company says. Volume is particularly valuable to UPS because the company typically carries relatively light express packages and often maxes out the volume of its aircraft before hitting payload limits, UPS says. The 747-8F can carry 46 cargo containers on its main and lower decks, compared to the 747-400F's 39 total containers, according to UPS. After arriving in Dubai, the 747-8F will fly onward to UPS' AsiaPacific hub at Shenzhen in China before continuing to Anchorage and back to Louisville, says UPS.

The new route reflects UPS' plan to expand its presence in Dubai, where the company bases its operations in India, the Middle East and Africa. The new Louisville-Dubai will also free up more capacity on the company's existing flight between Cologne in Germany and Dubai, says UPS. ”Our customers are demanding more capacity,“ says UPS Airlines president Brendan Canavan in a media release. ”UPS has made a strategic investment in 747-8 jumbo jets, the largest aircraft we have ever flown, to offer sustainable lift on longrange international routes like this.“ Etihad Cargo and Emirates SkyCargo already operate flights between the United Arab Emirates and the USA. Etihad operates a freighter from its Abu Dhabi base to Columbus (Ohio) and Washington, DC, while Emirates flies freighters from Dubai to Columbus, Fort Lauderdale, Houston, Los Angeles, New York and Orlando, according to the carriers and to FlightMaps Analytics. Excluding the new Dubai route, UPS nearly exclusively operates 747Fs between Asia and the USA. Based in Louisville, UPS operates 13 747-400Fs and four 7478Fs, and has another 24 747-8Fs on order. It ordered 14 747-8Fs in 2016, and on 1 February converted a remaining 14 options into firm orders. UPS expects all 32 747-8Fs will be delivered by the end of 2022. The company also operates 52 Airbus A300-600RFs, 75 757200Fs, 59 767-300ERFs and 37 MD-11Fs, according to Flight Fleets Analyzer.

A350 marketing director Francois Obe indicated during a briefing at the Singapore air show that the delivery, previously targeted for late-2017, was delayed as a result of the Middle Eastern carrier not being fully satisfied with the aircraft. ”What we want is to deliver an aircraft that really meets the high expectations of Qatar Airways,“ Obe says. He adds that the airline’s senior executive team liked the A350-1000 ”very much“, when the aircraft visited Qatar in late January as part of a demonstrator tour in the Middle East and Asia. Airbus’s objective, however, is to ”satisfy“ the type’s launch operator and deliver the aircraft ”according to its expectations“, says Obe. He adds that it is also customary for the operator, not the manufacturer, to disclose a delivery date. In late January, Airbus said the aircraft will be delivered ”in the coming weeks“.

jetBlue Airways (B6, New York JFK) has invested an undisclosed amount into Joby Aviation, a secretive start-up based in Northern California working on an electric air taxi aircraft. Other investors in the round, valued in total at USD100 million, included Intel and Toyota. Previously, the start-up had raised USD30 million capital from investors. Joby Aviation has not disclosed much about its product publicly. Bloomberg, which was allowed exclusive access to the company's private airfield but was not at liberty to disseminate any photographs or detailed descriptions, revealed that the firm is working on an electric vertical take-off and landing aircraft. The company had earlier provided illustrations of its aircraft, featuring twelve small rotor engines and four passengers seats, but has since announced it has changed the design, The Verge has reported. No timeline for further tests or entry into service has been provided

Pascan Aviation (P6, Montréal St. Hubert) is mulling launching services out of Barrie/Orillia to each of Gatineau (Ottawa) and Montréal St. Hubert, CTV Barrie has reported. The regional specialist would significantly boost the scheduled capacity out of Barrie/Orillia, which currently only sees 5x weekly flights to Toronto City Centre operated by charter specialist FlyGTA Airlines. Pascan is considering launching the flights in spring 2018, pending the outcome of a community survey which it is currently conducting in Barrie. The airline currently operates a sole Jetstream 32.

www.ch-aviation.com Norwegian eyes transatlantic ops with A321LRs in 2019 Norwegian (DY, Oslo Gardermoen) is considering deploying A321LRs on transatlantic routes out of new European gateways, including Berlin Schönefeld, Budapest, Brussels National, and Prague, Chief Commercial Officer Thomas Ramdahl has told FlightGlobal. "You will see more A321LR routes coming in to medium-size airports in the USA, connecting to different capitals in Europe. We will be looking at the Washington area. I think it will be an A321LR destination," Ramdahl has said. The carrier will be considering either Baltimore Thurgood Marshall or Washington Dulles airport in the DC area. He added that thanks to its longer range, the A321LR can serve more markets than the B737 MAX 8, of which Norwegian currently operates six through its Irish subsidiary Norwegian Air International. It also is more flexible than the larger B787-8s. The A321LR, the newest addition to the A320neo Family, completed its maiden flight at the end of January 2018. Norwegian ordered thirty aircraft of the type from Airbus and expects the delivery of the first eight in 2019. Other carriers, including Aer Lingus and Primera Air Scandinavia, are planning to deploy A321LRs on transatlantic routes. jetBlue Airways is also mulling ordering the type for this purpose. According to the ch-aviation capacity module, Norwegian currently operates transatlantic flights out of Barcelona El Prat, Belfast Int'l, Bergen, Copenhagen Kastrup, Cork, Dublin Int'l, Edinburgh, London Gatwick, Oslo Gardermoen, Paris CDG, Rome Fiumicino, Shannon, and Stockholm Arlanda. Later this year, the carrier plans to add Amsterdam, Madrid Barajas, Milan Malpensa, and Paris Orly to its transatlantic network. In a statement, the Irish LCC said its initial service to Amman Queen Alia is to launch in March from Paphos, Cyprus operating four times weekly. Thereafter, nine additional routes to the Jordanian capital will be rolled out from October including Bologna (2x weekly), Brussels National (2x weekly), Bucharest Otopeni (2x weekly), Budapest (2x weekly), Kraków (2x weekly), Milan Bergamo (3x weekly), Prague (2x weekly), Vilnius (2x weekly), and Warsaw Modlin (2x weekly). Service to Aqaba is to start during the winter 2018 season with flights to the Red Sea resort town from each of Athens Int'l (2x weekly), Cologne/Bonn (2x weekly), Rome Ciampino (2x weekly), and Sofia(2x weekly). ”Opening up new routes to the Kingdom from several crucial markets is key in bringing tourists for extended stays in Jordan," the Managing Director of the Jordan Tourism Board, Dr. Abed Al Razzaq Arabiyat said. www.ch-aviation.com Etihad moves to shore up $1.2bn in bonds Etihad Airways (EY, Abu Dhabi Int'l) is looking at all available options to avoid an impending technical default on a total of USD1.2 billion worth of bonds issued in 2015 and 2016 via a pair of Dutch limited liability private companies. The Abu Dhabi-based carrier and several of its equity partners and subsidiaries used EA Partners I BV and EA Partners II BV to help raise funds to settle debt obligations attributed to the seven obligors. At the time, they included Etihad Airways PJSC, Air Berlin PLC, Jet Airways (India) Limited, AlitaliaSocieta Aerea Italiana S.p.A., Air Serbia a.d. Belgrade, Air Seychelles Limited, and Etihad Airport Services LLC. A USD700 million bond is maturing in 2020 while a USD500 million bond is due to be repaid in 2021. However, according to sources who spoke to Reuters on condition of anonymity, the bonds are now quoted at a discount of more than 25 cents on the dollar after Alitalia entered special administration and Air Berlin filed for bankruptcy protection last year. As a result, Etihad may have to foot the bill to the tune of USD400 million in order to keep the bond structure active. According to the report, although Etihad is not legally obligated to finance the repayments as there is no cross-default provision in the bond documentation, it may choose to do so for political as well as reputational reasons. With the possibility of a default in March, Etihad is reportedly holding internal talks to assess if and how to support the bonds, the sources said. Coupon payments, which were due to be paid by the defaulting airlines, have been sourced from a "liquidity pool" until now. However, if this same source of funding is used to pay coupons due in March and June, it will drop below 75% of the original balance, Reuters said. This would then trigger a "remarketing event" in which defaulted debt obligations would be auctioned for cash. Options being considered include Etihad buying Alitalia's mini-bond within EAP or conversely, the Abu Dhabi-based carrier paying directly into the EAP bonds' liquidity pool, to guarantee coupon payments.

AirAsia X (D7, Kuala Lumpur Int'l) is also looking at the B787 from Boeing (BOE, Chicago O'Hare) as part of its fleet expansion plan, Tony Fernandes has said. Speaking on the sidelines of a business forum in Manila last week, the AirAsia Group founder and chief executive told MoneyControl: "AirAsia X will need more planes. We are now looking at A330s, A350s, and [the] B787." The Group's longhaul arm, AirAsia X, and its Indonesia AirAsia X and Thai AirAsia X affiliates operate a total of thirty A330-300s. It also has outstanding orders with Airbus (AIB, Toulouse Blagnac) for sixty-six A330-900s and ten A350-900s. Last year, Fernandes told Bloomberg that AirAsia X could reconfigure the A330neo order to include A350s and/or A321neo. The latter would be used in developing thinner, medium-haul routes that, at present, are not viable for service

Taking into consideration an expression of interest in Air India's longhaul operations from IndiGo Airlines (6E, Delhi Int'l) parent InterGlobe Aviation, Jayant Sinha told CNBC India on February 2 that he expected to have the selection process completed by June of this year. Thereafter, the winning bidder may require an additional 4-5 months to get clearances, and thus bring an end to the process. Under revised legislation, foreign carriers will be allowed to control 49% of Air India's share capital with the remaining 51% to remain in the hands of an Indian national/entity. Concerning interest in other parts of Air India Ltd, Turkey’s Çelebi Aviation Holding, and India’s Bird Group and Livewel Aviation Services Pvt. Ltd have shown interest in its groundhandling and MRO units. As previously reported, Air India Ltd. is being spun off into a set of four separate entities; the first consisting of Air India and its Air India Express (IX, Mumbai Int'l) budget unit, the second entailing Alliance Air (India) while the third and fourth will consist of groundhandling firm Air India Air Transport Services Ltd (AIATSL) and MRO unit Air India Engineering Services Ltd (AIESL) respectively. Fixed assets such as Air India’s Nariman Point headquarters in Mumbai and hotels will be placed in a separate unit which will fall under government supervision. This unit will also house the carrier's legacy debts. Sinha also noted that the privatization of state-owned helicopter firm Pawan Hans Helicopters (Delhi Int'l) is moving along faster than that of Air India (AI, Mumbai Int'l). New Delhi put its entire 51% stake in the rotary-winged specialist up for sale in October last year. The Minister said he expects bids to be submitted shortly.

Star Alliance, the global partnership of airlines ranging from Singapore Airlines Ltd. to United Continental Holdings Inc., is looking to include low-cost units of its members as partners as more and more people flock to budget carriers lured by cheaper fares. ”Many of our members and many airlines around the world are moving a lot to lower-cost platforms,“ Chief Executive Officer Jeffrey Goh said in an interview at the Singapore Airshow. ”We want to find a way of recapturing these markets offering the benefits and privileges that they used to have and enjoy. We want to use this connecting partner model.“ Star Alliance’s move is a recognition that budget carriers have captured a significant chunk of global airline traffic with lower ticket prices and on-time flights. Low-cost airlines are doing much better than expected, and their next frontier would be low-cost, long-haul travel, Alexandre de Juniac, chief executive officer of International Air Transport Association, said earlier on Monday Star Alliance, which connects 1,300 airports with its 28 members isn’t looking to add any new airline at the moment, Goh said. It however provides the flexibility for its existing members to cooperate with others outside the alliance in markets outside its network, Goh said..
