01 The Malt Factory Adaptive reuse The design studio was dealing with future of abandoned buildings. So in group of twos we had the task to find abandoned building in Europe and redesign it. So we picked abandoned Malt factory in Dresden in Germany. The idea was to turn the building into a local brewery and to become a social hub in the area. As local can have the good taste of a local beer made on site with this experience of the authenticity of the place. So we had to learn more on beer production and we did a research. We knew the requirements for beer production. Also we even designed a beer brand called “MAX UND MORITZ”. Hundreds of local micro-breweries have arisen in the past decade. The interest in local tastes and handcrafted beer goes in hand with the turn towards microbreweries. Small brewery directly in the pub is the ground to attract people not only from the close neighborhood but also tourists. The process of brewing is divided in several steps and slightly differs according to the type of the beer. But the basic ingredients stay the same: malt, yeast, hops and water. The whole production will take part in our brewery to be truly local.

The Inner structure of the factory; major parts is Collapsed or in danger of collapsing. Except the back part which has the two chimneys. So the idea was to introduce a steel structure which easily to be assembled inside the old shell of the building and partitions and floor panels to be installed within this structure. Also designing a new roof which increases the natural light inside the building to give a pleasant experience.

02 All Star Hotel Zero to six star hotel The task of the design studio is to design an All Star hotel. A hotel that ranges from zero to six stars. Dealing with the social spectrum of people from different groups staying together in one place. This study examines the possibility to create kind of instant utopia maybe for a brief period of a stay in the hotel. Were social, finical and cultural differences are abolished so people can interact not based on how money, what language they speak or there position in the community but based on equality of human beings. This study digs and research some of the abandoned and unwanted topics that offered alternative solutions for our modern capitalist societies. These ideas are like communism and socialism. This study reflect some of these Utopian ideas to physical building. A trial to materializes these moral ideas and research the possibility of it coexistence at least for a very short brief of time.
In all star hotel every dweller contributes equally to the hotel. The aim is to create a min organic community, an Instant utopia where you gain your status based on your contribution to the hotel. This Contribution come in form of jobs\ Tasks that runs the Hotel. These tasks start form cleaning rooms, cooking, catering, entertaining the hotel dwellers (singing, performing, dancing ...etc), fixing and maintaining the hotel. Basically The dweller don’t pay for there room by money; they provide service to keep the hotel running. On The ground floor were all the public areas of the hotel and services are located, while the sleeping spaces is in the upper part accessed by four vertical towers that works as structure element also.
The sleeping spaces. It is located above the services on the ground floor, It is accessed by four vertical towers. There are no rooms it all open space, the sleeping areas are double height. The beds are above the bathrooms and storages areas. The design of the sleeping space tries to give an equal sleeping spot without giving advantage to a person above the other.

In this process of evaluating and reforming our social and cultural identities, we always dream of Utopias, make an alternative visions and seek remedies for our illnesses. Thus this doesn’t mean that what always offered as alternative is better than current situation but it is crucial for opening the debate for more prosperous future. We as society always seeks this bright distant future, were all financial, social and cultural differences does not divide us so that the gaps become more and more unreachable. That why this project aims to remove the factor money from the equation just for a brief stay in the hotel. Money has been the essential factor in dividing people into groups/ stars.
03 Dorms Adaptive reuse The design studio was to design a student dormitory in the suburb of Madrid called Villaviciosa. There was a given site which had an abandoned building. My approach was to design within the existing building without adding any new buildings in the site. Alterations will be made to make it suit the new function for it, which is the doors for twenty student. The twenty student will be distributed as in 10 single rooms & 5 double rooms. The ground will have the most important part which is the Kitchen, living rooms, Tennis table & pool table. It is designed as an open living space so it can enhance the social life for the student which they are looking for to find. The existing building & the new intervention trying to create this dialogue between the old and new. This dialogue will be represented with the interaction between the different materials. Brick as the old existing walls, Plain white for the new walls, wooden for the new roofs and glass when is needed to have openness to the view and to insure to have good lighting in specific places in the dorms.

The Building materials: The existing building / the new intervention trying to create this dialogue between the old and new. This dialogue will be represented with the interaction between the different materials. Brick as the old existing walls, Plain white for the new walls, wooden for the new roofs and glass when is needed to have openness to the view or to insure to have good lighting in specific places in the dorms The existing wall will remove the plaster which is covering under the red brownish bricks underneath. The new walls will be compeletly white plaster which will be easly to distinguish between the old & new walls The Wood will be used mainly for the new roof structure.wood is lighter than other material to not endanger the old building.
Living room
Allotment garden per student Each room will have a green space in front of it planted with vegetables, fruits, herbs...Etc. Were any student can use it and even can plant his own plant and can eat the outcome before he goes back home, as for example some vegetables can grow in just 48 days and almost all the student stay more than that. It can help create emotional attachment to the place, so it can be recommend to others student in the following semester. Also try to have varieties in the rooms and varieties in the spaces and the views and locations, were rooms offer different prices/ experience. The rooms in the upper floor will have each room the acceptability to a terrace which some of them will have external views and some will have internal ones. The ground rooms which almost all of them are in looking towards the inner court. Planting Timeline: The Timeline is made to clarify how it is doable for a Erasmus student who probably his stay at the dorms could last from just three month up to six month or even more. So the Timeline downward is for just two plant types which are Onion and tomato. This timeline clarify the income of student and if they planted tomato how many time it is possible for the to harvest what they planted & show the income of new students which will contribute in this lasting process.
04 The Future of Lusatia Janschwalde power plant post mining The design studio was about transformation of a region long dominated by the mining, processing and combustion of coal is the focus. The project is staged in the fascinating region of Lusatia between Berlin and the Polish border, where brown coal is being quarried in vast open cut fields swallowing up villages, burnt day and night, heating the atmosphere, turning our oceans into acid – and us all into climate refugees. Bold and rapid action is needed to cease and reverse environmental, social and cultural destruction. The design studio was also focusing on the Jänschwalde Power Station and it’s surrounding areas. In 2007, the Power station was ranked by the environmental group World Wide Fund “WWF” as the fourth most dirty power plant in Europe. With the closure of the plant by 2024, the communities of the region are now facing the challenge of restoring scarred landscapes, rebuilding towns lost to mining activities, regenerating regional economies that are no longer fossil fuel based, and rehonouring regional cultures fragmented by rapid territorial change. So the challenge was to deal with the issue of lacks craftsmanship where most labor in the region are working in the mining industry and post mining it will become an issue. Another challenge is to deal with the flipped demographic pyramid; most of young and the bright leave the region heading to Berlin or to south of Germany “Bavaria” seeking better jobs opportunity.
Demographic pyramid of germany which shows the average age is 45.9. The red bars represent the age of the refugees. Which there presence can help fix the demographic pyramids.
Aging population is a major problem in Europe. Where according to statistics Europe is the most content which suffer from this issue. Germany is one of the main countries that have that problem which the demographic pyramid need to be balanced. In the mean while there is a big income of Refugees with ages average is between 20-35. Where the refuges could stimulate the economy in Germany, which has 600,00 job vacancies. The idea is to implement them in the cities and villages in the area of Lusatia to help enrich the region with their experiences in different field after the Coal mining. So start building settlement which will be distributed accordingly to the size of the city and place an Cultural center where the refugee and the local could share their different knowledge or services.
The map shows the region surrounding Jaenschwalde power plant. The map illustrate poteinal plots with red and yellow for development (housing & cultural centers) for refugees.
prototype of the new settlements for the refuges, where it was designed as mixed used house as in the ground floor is commercial and the upper is residential

Janschwalde power plant Janschwalde what’s next?; a question for the unknown future for the power plant. Janschwalde is a symbol of the coal industry which has been exploiting the region for a longtime and destroying the landscapes because of energy hunger. The idea was to make the people change this perspective of Janschwalde and make it recreational and entertainment park in this industrial theme. where people can experience the facility in different way. parks has always been the tangible reflection of the quality of the life a community, where they provides identity to communities & cities - a place where people of ages and background come together. The Term Industrial heritage and industrial culture was introduced before such in Emscher park which creates a new identity referencing to roots in the past. So the aim is to turn Janschwalde power station in to a recreational park with maintaining the industrial elements. The park will be divided to main five main section which are: 1-Cultural “music halls, museum for art, community meeting rooms and cinemas halls “ which all of these things will take place in the existing cooling tower and buildings 2-Enterinment “roller coaster, bungy jump, freefall, go kart, entrainment wheel which most of these things will take place in the existing cooling tower and buildings. 3-sport centre “Indoor swimming pool, gymnastic hall, all kind of sportive fields” 4- recreational park with open green spaces, meadows and lawn areas 5-Energy park where it will produce the park energy to run on renewable energy “solar & wind” and if their excess of energy it will be put to the grid to feed Peitz or Cottbus with a clean source of energy.

01 Marakez - District 5 - New Cairo Club house My Role in the project was to develop the building concept and the renders. The building was a club house for the residence of District 5 compound. The club house design was acting as a gateway for the sport facilities behind it . The design strength comes from, it’s linearity and the use of three materials (concrete, glass & wooden louvers). The front part of the building “entrance” is tucked into the landscape to increase the sense of linearity and welcoming.

02 NEW GIZA Terrace building This area in New Giza is overlooking the pyramids of Giza . The site contour gaves the possibility of designing a terrace building dealing with two levels for each building block. In this area we used two building blocks. This block was designed by me. The Idea was to have overlapping duplex with entrances of different levels without a need for a core and staircase for the 4 units, where the gross area for each unit was the net area. The design offers a big terrace for each unit to harness the view.
03 NEW GIZA Apartment building The task was to have a luxurious apartment building block with variety of areas. I was tasked with this building design. This building was designed with luxurious double height entrance. The block has lofts and one bedroom up to four bedroom apartments.
04 M2 Developments - El Masyaf - North Coast Santorini Due to the steep site; the design for these summer houses was inspired by Santorini. I was tasked to design the urban fabric of this plot. The challenge was to break the rhythm of unit repetition as I was using just five building type. Also taking in consideration the different entrances for each building type and integrating it in the design.

The task was to translate architectural ambitions, ideas or a quote into forms of illustrated atmospheres. The quote movement, people getting ready and people giving up, the sound of hope and the sound of hanging on, and behin deadly ticking of a thousand hungry clocks...” Hunter S. Thompson. The idea was the relation between space and tim on how we perceive them.

villaviciosa house - Personal home As designing my Personal home, it have to reflect my identity, personality, needs and expectations, and to be reflected upon the site. I appreciate the water and I would like to have the water running beneath the house as reason of that the house is split to two parts and connected by bridge between them. Thus the location of the house either at the top of the hills or very close to the water. Placing the house way up the hill makes it way far from the water but when placed quite near to the water
the house loses its privacy as it is located in the pedestrian level. Therefore the house is located in the middle where it is sheltered by the interlaced trees branches which it gives the house it’s privacy and still close from the stream. The house is divided in to two parts the Studio and the living space. The design is a bit minimal to have this delicate impact on the site without being dominant.
Scan me The first two are 360 renders (Virtual Reality). The last one is projection of animated lines on a physical model.
