It uses the Echosens patented technology Vibration Controlled Transient Elastography (VCTEtm) at 50Hz to diagnose and monitor liver diseases. FibroScan® allows exploring a volume at least 100 times larger than a liver biopsy in a rapid, safe, repeatable, and non-operator- dependent way. It quantifies liver stiffness (E) in kPa and ultrasound attenuation (CAP) in dB/m, which are effective markers of the quality of the hepatic parenchyma correlated to fibrosis and steatosis, respectively.
