Meet the New Board Members

DUNCAN K. UNDERWOOD SIMMI JAGGI GEORGE O. MCDANIEL III

EHS alumnus, Duncan Underwood ’89, is beginning his fifth term of service on the board of trustees. Majoring in business administration, Duncan received his bachelor’s degree from St. Edward’s University where he continues to serve on the board of trustees. Duncan is a third year Vice President of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo and has been involved there for more than 20 years. Duncan currently serves on several task force committees for Houston Methodist Hospital and sits on the Board of Governors for the Fondren Foundation. He has also served on the Board of Trustees of Trees for Houston and the Children’s Museum. He was one of two alumni to help create the EHS Alumni Association where he serves as the first president.

Duncan is President and CEO of a private investment company, Underwood Ventures, LLC, which he started in 2001. Its holdings primarily consist of oil and gas ventures and real estate. He also runs the hay, cattle, and wildlife operations at his family’s ranch in Sealy, TX.

Duncan and his wife, Sarah, are the proud parents of two current EHS students. Simmi Jaggi leads the Houston division of the National Land Advisory Services division and recognizes that land is an integral piece of the equation that affects all businesses. Her ability to visualize the full potential of a tract of land and how it impacts a transaction has been her career focus.

Well known throughout the industry as a top performer and accomplished broker, Jaggi brings a wealth of knowledge to each partnership. An expert in site and trade area analysis, Jaggi specializes in suburban master plan communities, redevelopment, and creative, strategic thinking.

In addition to work, Jaggi and her husband Bobby and two children, Maya (18) and Cameron (15) spend time in Galveston where they have a vacation home. She loves to fish, and her happiest place is on the water or taking long walks on the beach. George McDaniel is an experienced Chairman with a demonstrated history of working in the oil and energy industry. McDaniel has served numerous roles in petroleum, management, energy, due diligence, and mergers and acquisitions. McDaniel is an entrepreneurship professional with a Doctor of Law (JD) from University of Mississippi School of Law.

McDaniel and his wife Ann have three children who are all EHS alum. George O. McDaniel IV ’00, Mary K. O’Black ’01, and William W. McDaniel ’04.

JOEL MOORE

Joel Moore is a life-long Houstonian with a passion for his hometown. He grew up in Memorial and attended Texas A&M University. There he met his wife, Jennifer Andrews Moore, and together they have raised three wonderful daughters. Two of his daughters currently attend EHS while his youngest attends St. Francis Episcopal School.

Moore has enjoyed a successful career in Houston as an investor and entrepreneur. He has owned and sold several companies and still enjoys investing in real estate and other ventures. He is involved with multiple philanthropic organizations including Texas A&M University, Methodist Hospital System, Chapelwood United Methodist Church, St. Francis Episcopal School, The Children’s Fund, The Arbor School, Episcopal High School, and more. His belief is that to whom much is given, much is expected.

Moore’s proudest accomplishment is his family. He enjoys spending time with his girls and getting outdoors with them whenever he can. His hobbies are mostly enjoyed with his family and include golf, fly fishing, hunting, and hiking.

CHARLES H. PRIOLEAU

Charlie Prioleau has over 30 years of corporate finance and investment banking experience in New York and Houston.

Prior to his retirement from banking in 2008, he served as Vice Chairman as well as Executive Managing Director and Group Head of BMO Capital Markets’ US Energy & Power Group. Before BMO, he was Managing Director at UBS/PaineWebber and Head of its Investment Banking Office in Houston. Charlie started his investment banking career in New York City at J.P. Morgan & Co. and spent two years at Kidder, Peabody & Co. in its Houston-based Energy Investment Banking Group.

In 2008, he co-founded a private oil and gas company, served as CFO and board member. As part of this endeavor, he launched and helped raise $100 million of equity funding from a private equity firm. Charlie continues to be active in finance, managing a family office, various partnerships, and a small family foundation.

Charlie and his wife, Mimi, live in Houston and have two children: a daughter in New York City and a son, Wilson ’12, in Houston.

JAMES E. TAUSSIG

Jamie Taussig is a Managing Director at GF Capital Management & Advisors in New York. Before joining the EHS Board of Trustees, he led the campaign to raise the funds for the new baseball field. His wife Eloise is also an active supporter of the School.

He and his family attend St. Martin’s Episcopal Church and have two sons. James graduated from EHS in the Class of 2021 and Walter is in the Class of 2023.

Taussig enjoys bird hunting, fishing, travel, and baseball.
