The former Essex barman had attended The Sylvia Young Theatre School, and had previously been part of a group run by Geri Halliwell, before going solo.

Sam rose to fame during the 2013 series of The X Factor, his handsome features and cheeky Essex charm winning him a string of fans across the UK and elsewhere, allowing him to finish a respectable 6th place. About his single, Sam says:

“Say Something was the first heave into a sound that is reflective of myself as an artist, and expressive of my own messages”.

He has described the track as the anthem to the classic ‘one that got away’ story:

“The essence behind the track stems from a relationship that never fully developed, because neither party had the guts to truly express how they felt. Subsequently, if two people were brave enough to speak out and ‘say something’, there could have been a different outcome”, Sam said.

In an epic return to the music world, Sam’s track represents a new direction for the British singer-songwriter. Already huge in the UK, Sam Callahan has given us a new insight into his character.

Sam has joined forces with Mean Recordings to deliver a searing new track, produced by hit-maker, Jamie Sellers, and mastered at the iconic Abbey Road Studios in London. Say Something is an emotionally-charged pop banger, which packs a punch, with iridescent vocals, energetic character and spirited disposition.

Say Something was premiered by BBC Introducing earlier this March. In support of the song’s release, Sam toured in Birmingham, London, and Glasgow.

Biting back hard into the British Music Scene, Sam is on a mission to express his passion for music to all of his fans. His single aims to give his audience an insight into the ‘real Sam’; urging his “love for music to exist as the soul centre of his career”.

After working on the production of Say Something, Sam explains his latest release to be the product of defining his own musical style; a sweet spot in forging the sound of the artist he is today.

Speaking of the release, Sam says:

“after spending years creating and nurturing your true sound as an artist, there comes a time where it begins to just come naturally to you, something from the heart that works for you and your own personality. ‘Say Something’ was the first heave into a sound that is reflective of myself as an artist, and expressive of my own messages”.

In the next big leap in his musical career, Sam gives us a taste of things to come. Heralding a new wave of music, Say Something is a deep reflection of something more individual,

developing from life's experiences and love affairs. In a recent interview, he described his track as the anthem to the classic ‘one that got away’ story.

Through it all, Sam Callahan remains the cheeky Essex boy, who won the hearts of fans from all corners of the globe, now exposing his fans to the honest, but he hopes fair character that is the real Sam Callahan.

Say Something is available now on ITunes, along with an attractive new music video, shot in the iconic Koreatown in Toronto, Canada.
