Introduction Welcome to Belfast Waterfront Conference, Arts and Entertainment Centre Whether it’s for international conferences, national business events, famous name concerts or exciting sporting attractions, Belfast Waterfront has the facilities to stage them all. Owned and managed by Belfast City Council, the Waterfront is an architecturally stunning, purpose-built venue. It has played a pivotal role in Belfast’s socio-economic regeneration and has elevated the city as a major European destination for conferencing, culture and business investment. This award-winning venue opened in 1997 and is firmly established among the top tier of European conference destinations. The Centre’s ultra-modern facilities accommodate business functions of any size, from small meetings with around ten participants, to large scale events with over 2000 people.

Belfast...

...so much to see and do

The perfect conference city Nestled between high hills, lough waters and picturesque river valleys, Belfast’s beautiful setting is an integral part of its appeal as the perfect conference destination. Belfast is Northern Ireland’s capital city and is the birthplace of many literary and musical greats, including CS Lewis, Louis MacNeice, James Galway and Van Morrison. It is a city with its eyes on the future and has transformed itself dramatically in recent years. Today it is a vibrant, dynamic and exciting European city, with plenty to offer business and leisure visitors alike.

6

A warm welcome always tops the agenda in Belfast

There’s never been a better time to visit

Rich in history and buzzing with life, Belfast has a great cultural heritage and a wealth of Victorian and Edwardian architecture, not to mention superb hotels, world-class visitor attractions, theatres and award-winning restaurants.

Northern Ireland was tipped as a ‘must see’ destination in the 2007 Lonely Planet Guide and many of its beautiful, unspoiled landscapes are less than 30 minutes drive from the city centre. There are numerous excursions on offer, including breathtaking tours of the Antrim Coast and Giant’s Causeway, Titanic boat tours, off-road driving and some of the world’s top links golf courses.

7

Belfast Hotels

Within easy reach Belfast is a wonderfully compact city and it has never been more easily reached by air, both nationally and internationally.

Whether you’re looking for five star excellence or a boutique experience, Northern Ireland’s quality hotels cater for every taste and budget.

It is served by two airports: the George Best Belfast City Airport, just five minutes from the Waterfront; and, Belfast International, just 20 miles from the city centre. Together these airports cater for direct flights from over 60 destinations in Europe, the United Kingdom, Canada and the USA.

Auditorium Any size, any shape, anyhow The main Auditorium is capable of meeting the demands of national and international conferences, entertainment, arts and sporting events, and can accommodate from 380 up to 2223 people for seated events. An impressive and multifunctional space, the Auditorium is undeniably the jewel in the crown of the Waterfront’s superb event facilities. Its distinctive tiered seating design is arranged in a circular format. This allows optimum contact between participants and event proceedings and gives uninterrupted views of the stage. A wide variety of configurations can be arranged, thanks to ground floor seating that can be removed entirely, and central floor and stage areas that can be raised and extended at the touch of a button. Suitable for annual general meetings and formal presentations, the Auditorium also provides the perfect platform on which to host award ceremonies, gala dinners, public exhibitions and fashion shows. Acoustics can be adjusted to achieve optimum sound for any event, while our highly experienced stage, lighting and audio visual technicians can deliver the perfect presentation solution.
