I am sorrounded by so many type faces in Gold Coast
Rip Curl is a brand recognized around the world, and the typeface used is modern, direct, clean, and looks for me that the italic is very well applied bringing the movement of practicing a sport as are the clothes, acessories and everything that is sold at the shop. In some way the high of the word makes looks a bit relaxed as well, as can be related with wearing confortable and sport clothes.
That is a brand which I particulary don`t like the font, the colours,
the
black shade behind every character, for me is bad example of design.
And I always loved to pay attention on them
I like this view at Cavill Avenue because those three shops are three completely different type of business and is nice to compare the way the various typefaces are really responsible for pass and idea, represent thoughts and bring life for the specific type of customers you want to get the attention. For example starting from the left the shop Sunglass Hut applies a typeface
and someway compare and understand them
the is charming, modern, simple but still classy. The shop Gelatissmo uses a typeface the remembers artesanal, by hand writing, as the ice cream which are sold there are suppose to be. And at the right, the shop Lovisa is light, soft, delicate as the itens sold inside the shop as acessories and jewellery, getting the attention of women .
Even on small things, objects or details
The Hard Rock Brand is recognized around the world, and I like it a lot. The use of italic gives movement to the brand kind of rememebering a song, a rock, singing while reading the lyrics. The word CAFE appears just like an aditional information about the place been simple and direct.
On this case I thought is quite clever have the name of the restaurant in a very simple and clear font with a little “fun� with the A and then exploring different and funny types of font while describing the menu and options for the clients.
while I am having lunch or even arriving at home
Home sweet home, that is my building. But I believe the font and brand in general needs an updte or rebranding. The font is clear and in big and doesn`t transmit the idea of a resort, relax, even using blue colours around. The characters look to be to close of each other.
