GARDEN ADDI+TION Lilly, the client, manages a nursery where she sells exotic plants throughout North America. She has requested a new design for her showcase garden where she can display her plants. A courtyard is needed to house her plants and keep them protected. She has also requested a new green house for cultivation, a garden wall for vines, and a view from the second floor terrace to her display. In addition she has asked for a new facade which facilitates a spatial connection from the entry of her home to the display at the back.

OPERABLE FACADE This project explores the performative aspect of architecture. Several planes rotate to create a rotating facade that shifts into various positions. It is not so much about the aesthetics, as it is about the performace and what it enables. ARCH 2552/ BASIC DESIGN + DRAWING I / SPRING 2009/ PROF. JOHN P. MARUSZCZAK/ - WORK SELECTED FOR EXHIBITION
SYNTHETIC SITES EXERCISE 1 - Construct a photographic map of two sites using digital photography. The sites to be investigated are 1. Marked surface 2. Floatsam & Jetsam- dry river bed. (Marked surface should look at a single material to document the veritable record of use/ abuse over time. Floatsam and Jetsam should discover the hydrological traces and inlays of the absent water. ARCH 2552/ BASIC DESIGN + DRAWING I / SPRING 2009/ PROF. JOHN P. MARUSZCZAK/ -WORK SELECTED FOR EXHIBITION.
EXERCISE 2 - OPEN CARTOGRAPHIES
EXERCISE 3 - OPEN CARTOGRAPHIES The project is structured to examine varied operational structures, performative inlays and methods of translation/ transformation. The project examines mapping across a variety of thematics, mediums, and media while expanding to include alternate programs, infrastructures, and constructional practices.
R1- EXTRACTION This project was developed though a series of elemental extraction that compose in this case, the R-1.
