Before writing an e-mail, there are things you should remember:


First thing you need to consider is the person you’re writing to, It’s good practice to be formal at all times since e-mail is used by people all around the world.


An email is meant for proper and quick communication through the internet. When you send an email, try summarizing it in the shortest possible way, since most people want to know why did you send them an email.


Is one of the most important factors in writing an e-mail. When you incorrectly spell words, you will make your reader confused and misled.


By using correct punctuation like spaces, apostrophes and other characters, the reader can identify the main subject and other additional information in the e-mail.


E-mails aren’t only read in the PC, but also in portable devices such as phones and PDAs. Some fonts maybe readable in the PC but not in those devices!


When you’re expecting a reply from the e-mail you sent, attaching contact details and other info will be most helpful so the recipient can reply more quickly.


A good e-mail program like Microsoft Outlook Express provides the basic functions that a proper e-mail needs. It looks more professional and formal.


Ending it with a polite greeting at the end like “Sincerely yours” or “Yours truly” will make the reader feel more comfortable with his/her reply.
