PERSONAL BRANDING Eye made out of a flipped “e”. Its tail emphasize and visualize the iconic eyebags I have in real life. Nose, chin, and hair strands made out of “j”s.

Ear and mouth made out of a separated “e”, the upper part for the ear and the tail for the mouth. A simple sideview portrait illustration of me made out of the lowercase letters of “e”s and “j”s. The letters are used to visualize my nickname “E.J” into a part of my branding.

VISUAL IDENTITY

V I S U A L E L E M E N TS

B RA N D I N G When first designing my personal branding, I wanted it to convey who I am visually. Every decisions were made around myself, from my logo which consisted of a nickname my close friend would call me, E.J, to the colors I chose which all are connected to me and my background. I wanted my brand to be welcoming, friendly, and personal this is why I chose a second font type, Pacifico a bubbly cursive font similar to a handwriting to represent this side. The words “Hello” and “Hi” are used to convey the playfulness of my branding.

Visual elements consisted of doodle drawings of my hobbies and interests. They can be used separately as a decoration or combined together to form a pattern. The doodle style was chosen to convey playfulness and raw creativity when someone starts out brainstorming.

TERASI KANCI REBRANDING Aroma, the rich fragrance of spices. Shrimp, the base & main ingredient of shrimp paste.

Mortar & pestle, tools used to traditionally make the shrimp paste.

Awan Mega Mendung, cloud shaped pattern with unique swirls often seen in Cirebon’s batik.

B RA N D I N G I D EA Terasi Kanci is an organic terasi (shrimp paste) made by a group of housewives from Kanci Kulon Village in Cirebon. It contained fermented prawns pounded traditionally with pestle and mortar and spiced up with a recipe passed down from generation to generation. To visually convey them to the consumers, a top down illustration of a hand grinding the shrimp paste is used on the packaging.

CO LO R PA L E T T E The main color palatte centers around colors with earthy tones. They were chosen to convey that the ingredients used come from Cirebon’s nature and to give off the impression of a classic, old, and warm brand.

Each designs were made according to each series visual style and genre but they share an emphasis on the views milestone and the main cast.

HOLLYWOOD HYPE MINI AD CAMPAIGN Logo and key visual designed for a mini Instagram campaign to promote one of the genre available to watch on Vidio. The design took inspiration from the aesthetics of old cinema and theater. The logo used the font Impact edited to look like a marquee sign outside the theater and the key visual was made to match a movie poster displayed in a cinema.

Storyboard for the animated Instagram post began with curtains drawn and lights flashing. Each word from the tagline “Ikuti H-ype Setiap Bulan” were shown one by one on Now Showing Movie Posters from left to right mimicking someone walking by while looking at the posters. Followed by categories from the Hollywood genre on Vidio inside a frame that lights up and flickers.

Menu table tents, name table tents, and stickers for menu boxes for the collaboration event between Vidio Original Series Dapur Napi and the restaurant Social Affair to promote the series. The dark and faded colors were chosen to match with the series’ old and nostalgic visual concept. 23

FLYER HAPPY GO JENNY & MY ICE GIRL

The first draft flyers made to promote Vidio Original Series Happy Go Jenny and My Ice Girl. For Happy Go Jenny, clouds and window was inspired from the series’ visual concept, while the colors and glitch effect were from the series’ romance genre and android main character. For My Ice Girl, the notebook, red marker, and sticky notes visuals were from the series’ mystery genre.

The visuals were made to convey a sense of fun, fresh, and fruity drink through the bright colors, fruits, and leaves. To entice the audience more, one of the feeds visualized the deliciousness of the drink with the bright lips slurping it up.

INSTAGRAM FEED OEMIK IKA The feeds incorporated the brand signature colors of red and yellow. The colors are also useful in increasing the appetite of the audience. Typography were used in some of the feeds to emphasize the taste, texture, and promotion of the food. While white dotted lines outlined the food and divide the composition of the designs.

The new packaging aims to emphasize the refreshing feeling after you quench your thirst on a hot sunny day with Cool Time Coconut Water. Shades of blues taken from the logo backdrop illustrated into water are utilized as the dominant colors of the packaging to convey that feeling. The freshness of the coconut is visualized through light green and the coconut being submerged underwater. White is used to highlight the movement of the splashes and the coconut. 32

TEH VILLA PACKAGING REDESIGN The packaging puts emphasis on brand name and background by translating it directly into its shape. This design was chosen to visualize the brand’s name, background which is a family business, and the warm atmosphere of drinking tea at home. The packaging was inspired by the shape of the Joglo house which is the traditional house from various regions in East Java, one of which is Surabaya, the original location of Teh Villa.

BUKU INI ADA UNTUK KAMU A book designed to support sexual abuse survivors in the process of healing from trauma and PTSD. The title of the book “Buku Ini Ada Untuk Kamu” or “This Book Is Here For You” was decided as a way to convey to the survivors that they’re never alone and this book is also here to listen. The illustration for the cover helps to reinforce the title through the visual of a hand giving the book and another receiving it in the point of view of the person holding the book in real life. The illustrations used color, contrast, and composition to visualize the abstraction of thoughts, emotions, and journey to healing.

A DEER IN THE FOREST The illustration was made with the concept of directing and framing the audience’s eyes through values. From the darker side of the painting in the foreground to the brighter side in the background directed by the flow and shape of the river. The shape and position of two tree barks and the ray of sunshine from above also help framed the audience’s attention to the center and back of the painting where you can found the lush greenery of the forest and a deer quenching its thirst on the river.

SCIPAPROCK: IZAKAYA The photo shoot is centered around the Las Vegas hand bag made by the brand Scipaprock. The brand is well known for its Japanese and androgynous aesthetics. The concept is “defying the feminine beauty standards” through the cool bar-like atmosphere from Izakaya, the tiger design on the hand bag, and the color black dominating the wardrobe, contrasting with the soft pink hair of the model and the sakura patterns from the kimono.

AFTERNOON TEA & CAKE TIME The photo shoot of Dapur Cokelat’s chocolate layered cake and Teh Sosro’s tea. The concept of this food and beverage photo is “eating cake and drinking a tea in the afternoon”. Both photos have different vibes to convey each of their brands’ concept. Dapur Cokelat’s cake was set in a homey settings with powder scattered across and cooking utensils in the background while Teh Sosro’s tea was set in a more traditional settings with the tea powder and dried chamomile set around a teapot and cups to convey the feeling of homebrewed tea.
