REDESIGN: JUMPING ROPE My first ever ‘product’ using the tools in the workshop. This project is mainly about how to create an object consisting of three major parts, that marry one another and result in a visually pleasing shape. I used the bandsaw at the most. Refined this using a many many hours of sanding the material (modulan), and topping it off with spraypaint and gloss.

CO LO R S M AT T E R . This is a colorboard for my jump rope. I wanted monocrhomatic colors with a splash of light color to brighten up the prodcut.

CO M FO R T I S K E Y. My focus was for people who needed to exercise daily, but wanted a jump rope that endured for a while. Therefore, I chose materials that were more on the lightweight side but could withstand many surfaces.

TELEPRESENCE, FO R YO U. During my Spring Semester, I joined a Materials and Processes class and we had to redesign a telepresence robot. Programs I had used were Adobe InDesign, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Solidworks, SketchPro, and Keyshot.

S O L I DWO R K S BIKE. I wanted to design and create a simple and monocrhomatic bike used daily. I used Solidworks, from scratch.

G U I TA R T U N E R CO N C E P T This is my first ever technology redesign. My target persona/stakeholder would be for guitarists who are mostly intermediate to pros at playing guitar. I chose to go for minimalism (only 4 buttons max.) and LED lights (red and green). I amed for simplicity, durability, hand, compact, and user-friendly.

PROCESS MAKING

It was not an easy process; but I did it. After tons of ideation and sketching, I then gathered the things I needed to redesign my guitar tuner. I used modulan and ripped off the screen from a real guitar tuner. Added a handle to this and screwed this together. After adding a couple of buttons and the LED lights, I started sanding them down and then painted them.

MAKE UP HANGER I created this using only one sheet of cardboard. I cut and bent them accordingly, for make up pockets. I wanted an easy, efficient, cheap and light way to store my make up, so that I do not have to pull out my cupboard every time I want to do my make up.

RECTILINEAR My first ever product using tools in the workshop. This project is mainly about how to create an object consisting of three major parts, that marry one another and result in a visually pleasing shape I used the bandsaw to make this and refined this using sanding materials, to fix the modulan. I topped this off with spraypaint and gloss.

C U RV I L I N E A R My curvilinear design is inspired by rivers and how this product flows. Our main project was to learn using the tools in the workshop, mainly the bandsaw. I used wood and finished it by sanding it off. No paint needed, I wanted to have wood texture.

THE S P E E D FO R M This project about speed and how we portray speed. My inspiration for this was a shark and a leopard; blending their features into one speed form. I used clay and resin for this project (process on next page), and then painted it white using spraypaint. It was a challenge because in order to have the paint neat and tidy, I needed to sand it down perfectly.

PROCESS MAKING

In chronological order. I placed my clay model onto a cut out foam, and built a place holder for my model to rest upon. After resin pouring and all was dry, I took my model out and fixed holes using bondo. After a bunch of sanding off, I painted and sanded. The process took 2-3 weeks.
