A.1. Conceptualisation Week 1 01 Setup Loops
02 Setup Loops
Increasing the number of points on ‘Populate 3D’ and number of repeats on ‘Loop Start’ for a denser and more opaque structure.
Increased the data to duplicate in ‘Duplicate Data’ to achieve this bulbous
Increasing the the number of repeat and reducing the number of points on ‘Populate 3D’ to ‘1’ for one continuous line composed of shorter lines that are perpendicular to each other.
Increased the Script Variable Res in ‘VB Script’ for a closed surface with larger triangulations and harder form.
Reducing the the number of repeats to ‘1’ on the number slider, and increasing the number of points on ‘Populate 3D’ for disconnected lines floating in a 3D grid.
Increased the Script Variable Iso in ‘VB Script’ for a completely different form from the first one. The sufaces are sharper and no rounded corners.
4 CONCEPTUALISATION
03 Voronoi Mapping
04 Twisted Beso Tower
The twist beso tower can be un-twisted by changing the rotation of the plane around the z-axis.
Changing the height and form of the tower.
Several different surfaces were ‘Baked’ after changing the number slider of the number of points in ‘Populate 2D’. I observed that the height/width of the tower could also be changed using the number slider of the multiplication component.
Further experimentation with the form of the tower by changing the ‘Step size’ and ‘Count’ value.
CONCEPTUALISATION 5
05 Multi Agent Mesh Structure
Lofting and State Capture
Experimenting with changing the size of the hexagrid.
Lofting a surface with three curves on Grasshoppers.
Increasing the number of ‘Loopstarts’.
We can vary the thickness of the frame structure by changing the distance in ‘Weaverbird’s Mesh Thicken’ component.

CONCEPTUALISATION
Triangular Algorithims
Week 1 summary Turn on ‘Preview’ and ‘Enable’ components to load scripts. Experimented with changing slider values of scripts. Started constructing some basic geometry using loft and octree functions.
Applying the ‘Octree’ function to a sphere...
...and deleting some of the blocks to create light/dark or hiddens spaces.
CONCEPTUALISATION 7
Week 2 01 Initial Structure
02 Kangaroo
The ‘Kangaroo’ script creates a curved surface as well as a frame structure.
Interesting plane-and-infill structures are modelled by changing the ‘Step Size’ and ‘Count Value’ of the ‘Series’.
More interesting forms were modelled by changing the parameters of ‘Concatenate’.
8 CONCEPTUALISATION
Adjusted the ‘Domain’ of the ‘Reference Surface’ to get a more dramatically curved surface.
03 Karamba
04 Cocoon
Toggling with the parameters of ‘Curve Charge’.
Changing the ‘Cell Size’ and ‘Iso’ of the cocoon.
CONCEPTUALISATION 9
Mesh Geometry
Curve Menu
Mesh Brep + Mesh Weld Vertices + Face Boundariers to create a mesh from a number of joined spheres.
Divided two curves, then used ‘ARC’ and ‘Interp Crv’.
Used ‘Polyline’ instead of ‘Interp Crv’ for sharper, straighter lines.
Changing the control points of the object, curves update to changed form.
