Center For Enriched Living

Center for Enriched Living is a non-profit organization located in Riverwood, Illinois. Their mission is to enrich the lives of teens and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities by maximizing their opportunities for personal success, fun & friendship, employment, and community involvement. In an effort to increase employment readiness and community involvement, Elawa Farm Foundation and Center for Enriched Living partnered last summer to provide participants with volunteer opportunities on the farm and at our Garden Market. Volunteers greeted customers, harvested produce, and kept pesky weeds at bay on the farm.

This Old Farm

This Old Farm is a woman-led livestock farm and meat processing facility located in Central Indiana. We partnered with this operation to convene a group of stakeholders, including other livestock farms and processors, to explore opportunities to sustainably expand small to medium sized meat processing facilities across the Midwest. This project was generously supported by Food:Land:Opportunity, funded by the Searle Funds at The Chicago Community Trust. Local meat from This Old Farm was also featured in our 2022 Garden Market and Farm Dinner series. We will continue to feature their meat and support local livestock farmers in 2023.
