Computer Room Floor Grille Type CFG/AFG Floor grille types CFG and AFG are specifically developed for mounting in Raised Access Floors in such areas as Computer Rooms, where load and damage resistance are of the utmost importance. Having a heavy duty construction, they can replace 600mm square floor tiles. Grille border depth can be specified to suit the type of floor system used. A range of surface finishes is available. The type CFG is a fan assisted computer room floor grille that eliminates hotspots and reduces risk of equipment failure by providing up to 5kW of cooling per cabinet.
Floor Grilles
The type AFG is a static grille assembly which can handle supply air or alternatively extract air and be fitted with rear opposed blade damper assembly for air volume flow control. For full details see publication PI/1/9/B/...

Sound power level for one CFG 76dB(A) In an area with several units the noise level will increase due to multiple sources. To allow for this and room attenuation an assessment should be made by an acoustic engineer to ensure required room noise levels are achieved.

The floor grille should be located at the front of the I.T./Comms cabinet experiencing hot spot conditions the cabinet should incorporate a perforated door. The floor void static pressure must be considered in the selection process (see Potential cooling below). Sufficient void air (cooled by others) must be available to be drawn by the grille at the specific point of need.

Floor Grille Type FB Floor Swirl Diffusers available in either aluminium or plastic construction in a range of finishes/colours. Diffusers may be installed into a floor with either a pressurised void (no plenum box) or duct connection to optional side entry plenum box. Air discharge pattern may be adjusted to provide either horizontal or vertical by adjustment of optional control element (not type VF).

Linear Grilles
Type AF Supply or return air grilles for lay in floor mounting with fixed horizontal profiled blades, blades with either 0° or 15° deflection. Type AF-0 and AF-15 respectively. The grille core is removable. The grille can be fitted into masonry. Standard finish: Powder coated RAL 9006 25% gloss.

Slot Diffusers
Perimeter throw pattern for VSD diffusers to a maximum terminal velocity of 0.75 m/s with average room velocities of 0.25 m/s. Blade configuration as detailed below to be set up on site, by others. Diffuser recommended active length between 75% and 80% of facade length. Maximum air change rates up to 25 per hour using special perimeter blade configuration as detailed below. Max NC35 assuming 8dB room attenuation, 1200mm long plenum, recommended max spigot velocity 3.5 m/s.

Type ADT Square louvred face, removable core, ceiling diffusers type ADT giving horizontal air discharge, are suitable for use in rooms with ceiling heights between 2.60 and 4.00m. The recommended supply air temperature differential is Âą10K. The ADT diffuser can be used for supply or extract air applications.

Disc Valve Type LVS · Z-LVS The disc valves consist of a valve ring, central disc and installation subframe. To guarantee a perfect seal, the valve ring is fitted with a peripheral sealing strip. A bayonet fitting is used to mount the unit in the installation subframe.
Disc Valves
The air volume flow is adjusted by rotating the central disc which alters the gap between the disc and the valve ring. The central disc is held in position with a locknut.

Swirl diffusers offer a high induction air distribution method that enables the highest comfort criteria to be achieved. The following range of diffusers each discharge an air stream horizontally across the ceiling. The entrainment and expansion takes place rapidly, and the velocity decay of the air-stream occurs in direct proportion with the distance from the device. High turbulence occurs immediately within the proximity of the diffuser, which allows high air change rates to be successfully supplied into the room. With careful selection swirl diffusers can handle up to 30 air changes per hour while still satisfying relevant comfort criteria.

Occupied Zone
The layout and centres of the swirl diffusers must be carefully considered to ensure maximum comfort is achieved. We have provided three alternative arrangements for positioning diffusers, selection methods 1, 2 and 3. Each of the selections will ensure that the maximum terminal velocity in the occupied zone (VH1) will not exceed 0.25m/s, 1.0m below ceiling.

Type FD Type FD swirl diffusers are available in various sizes. Depending on the architectural requirements, the face plate can be circular or square. The fixed air control blades on the diffuser face are arranged radially. The diffuser face can be attached or removed via a centre fix screw into the plenum box. The screw head is covered with a decorative cap. The plenum box can be supplied with either top or side entry spigots and on request, with spigot lip seals and volume control damper.

If a circular diffuser face is ordered, the plenum box with side entry spigot has a 35mm extension piece fitted to the plenum.

Type DCS Type DCS-P air diffusers consist of the perforated face plate with a thin acoustic fleece lining on the rear. In type DCS-N, the face plate is made of plain sheet steel with perimeter returned edge with central perforated plate insert. The rear swirl diffuser includes a discharge nozzle ring and radially arranged fixed air control blades and connection collar. If required, can be supplied with top entry spigot piece or side entry plenum box with circular spigot. Plenum box can have internal acoustic insulation if specified.

Type TDV The diffuser face of the type SilentAIR offers a high volume flow rate at low sound power levels. The horizontal swirl-type discharge of the supply air ensures high induction and hence rapid reduction in jet velocity and temperature differential. Suitable for supply air temperature differentials up to ±10°K. Depending on requirements, the diffuser can be supplied with a circular or square face and with either white or black air control blades. For the air connection a plenum box is used. The connection can be top or side entry. Face fixing with centre screw and cover cap.

Jet Nozzles

Jet nozzles type DUK are suitable for almost all situations because of the wide range of variants available. Fixed construction type DUK-F consists of a nozzle with fixing holes. Adjustable construction type DUK-V consists of a spherical discharge nozzle mounted flange and circular spigot for direct connection to a circular duct. The nozzle can be adjusted manually up to max. 30° in any direction. The adjustment can be motorised with an electric or pneumatic actuator. With an actuator the nozzle can only be rotated in one plane up to 30° upwards (cooling) and up to 30° downwards (heating).

Type AJA - Standard Supply Comprises of a Spun Jet Nozzle section mounted in a square face plate with angle flanged border for mounting onto clients duct or plenum. Border supplied undrilled as standard, type CF comes without the square face plate. Jet Nozzle can be adjustable 30ツー upwards to 30ツー downwards. The Nozzle mounting plate can also be rotated through 360ツー which enables the air jets to be fully directional. One, two, three or four elements are available and there are four sizes to choose from. TROX jet nozzle can be installed singularly or in banks.
