R EIGN OF T ERROR As tens of thousands of “traders” are being executed, things are starting to get out of hand. There is no real leader; everyone is running wild with no control. If you are even suspected of being against this Revolution than you will automatically be beheaded or imprisoned. The good side to this is Royalty is no more in France, but the bad part is the Terror in the streets of Paris where people are being killed by the Revolutionists and guards are being beheaded and slaughtered. It isn’t the answer. Revolutionist leaders report that now an estimated 60,000 people have been beheaded. It is terrifying for anyone and everyone, even if you are a strong supporter of the Revolution, someone could say you’re a trader and you would still be punished in some type of fashion. Monarchy has been taken down, the next step is order. To be successful we have to have order. This Reign of Terror is far from order, its mayhem. Unnecessary killings will not help the

Revolution in any way. The only beheadings that will help are Royal beheadings. France will have their freedom, but the terror in the streets must stop before everyone turns completely against one another. If this happens France will be a country of Anarchy

T HE STORMING OF THE BASTILLE By: Marissa Elder
This picture was taken on the day of the battle with our victory.
The storming of the Bastille was something to go down in History. Nobody is the third estate is treated like they should be, and that isn’t fair. Us people felt like something needed to be changed and it was about to happen. After getting all the guns, it was decided that the guns were in need of more gunpowder then they had. The Bastille was the only place that had as much gunpowder, and so it was planned that on July 14th, the attack would take place, and so it did. The people
went on a rage of madness, entering the Bastille with nothing holding them back. Once they ran off, they demanded the bridge be lowered. Launay refused, and the crowd was enraged with fury. Eventually, Launay gave in and him, as well as all his men were captured. As soon as this occurred, Launay was beheaded and his head was put on a stick and ran around town to show what accomplishment was made. 100’s of men were killed on this horrific day, but without the men who fought for their rights,
none of this would’ve ever happened. 20,000 pounds of gunpowder was taken from the Bastille that day. Word on the street is that this is the start of something wonderful, something that is going to change the French for the better. Even though the people may have only got gunpowder, they still attacked something very important to the King. I think the King should watch out, because these people won’t stop until they get what they deserve.
