materials: psatha, colourful ropes, metallic grid.
This project is about the rebranding of a traditional Greek restaurant. Our intention is to use the most recognizable aspect of a Greek tavern, a material called ¨psatha¨ and try to create a modern restaurant. The result is... hanged from the roof.

Inventor offices The project is about the transformation of a former storage building of 600m2 into the offices of a company. The building has a precise grid of 5x5m which we used to organize the space. It has open space offices categorized into the different departments of the company. the resting area is separated by glasses to keep the eye contact while the meeting rooms are located into two wooden boxes to achieve isolation. The space has double height so we created a loft with a bridge that helps us to divide the space and connects the working areas with the main meeting room and the CEO’s office. ΚΑΤΟΨΗ ΠΑΤΑΡΙΟΥ

360
Degrees Cocktail bar Athens
360 degrees is a well-known cocktail bar in the center of Athens, in Monastiraki square with a view to the Acropolis. The bar was already designed with an industrial character which we intended to maintain during the renovation. The bar was designed with bare concrete and laser cut corten panels with hidden light which will not compete with the amazing view.

The Grand Paris is an project to modernize the existing transport network and create a new automatic metro – the Grand Paris Express for the Paris metropolitan area. The station of Clichy Montfermeil and the above surrounding urban space is a particular case because it has a symbolic public intervention in a suburb area that was forgotten and abandoned during a long time. The project includes the underground station and also the planning of the new square that is to become a central pole in a renewed neighborhood. It will provide an easy access to the inhabitants to a working place all over the Ille de France and in the same time will be a source of Urban renewal and mixed use area. The idea was to give a new identity to this place, with a glance to the origins of many of his inhabitants. We would like to transform this grey and abandoned place into a vivid and colorful square, which inspires joy and optimism. This is why we based the motives of the pavement, the shapes and the colors of the roof on the tissues, decorative motives and colors from Africa

main section Once entering the Metro Station, the circulation of the passengers towards and from the platforms is organized in a single unique space receiving natural light from a skylight. The access becomes a game, where the passengers can see each other but they don’t cross. Two of the escalators go up to the exit, while one goes down from the entrance to the platforms. The circulation has been brought into scene, and the passenger becomes the principal actor. The character of this unique space is given by the panels that cover the organic shape of the void, the same as the panels of the outside pergola, made by metal, coloured glass and fiber.

the ceramic facade The idea is that these thin vertical mulions will crate a metaphorical connection between the trees and the sky. They are also used as the sun protection filter of the facades.
the metallic skin The idea of the dragon skin comes from an old myth of China and the painting presented with the dragon protecting the city. The painting is used as an inspiration both for the curves of the hole construction and the unit of the panel that resembles the actual dragon skin.

MARKET & WORKSHOPS Re-interpreting the identity of Gazi
The subject of our thesis is a market and workshop areas in the region of Gazi, which is located near the center of Athens. It is an area that has been subjected to a numerous changes during the past decades and as a result it has a special character and strong differences among the uses, the citizens, the life during day and night. It began as a folk district for the workers in the gas factory located there. However, the area was abandoned when the gas factory was closed. After a while Gazi became a place for marginal communities. This continued till the beginning of 21st century when the area started flourishing. For the past decade Gazi has been the cultural center of Athens and hosted the nightlife of the city. Now due to the economic crisis, the night clubs shut down and the scenery changes again. All these contracts raised our interest and became the stimulus for our thesis. Our concept is to eliminate these differences by introducing to the area a new kind of uses by taking advantage of the central position of the area while enhancing the local character. We use the free spaces of one single block which is located next to the main square of Gazi.

Sculpture The aim of the project is the creation of a museum- exhibition place, based on a single piece of art. It regards the formation of the interior of a pre-existing shell, which should be inspired by the exhibit. The building belongs to a row of houses so it has a dividing wall on the right and left side, while the front side leads to the road and the back side to a yard. The sculptured used as inspiration is called “the ballet dancer” and the artist is called Froso Eythimiadh Menegaki. It’s made out of brass and it’s 1,5 m height.

line
This project focuses on the creation of a public park on the land of the “Stadium of Panathinaikos” once it changes location. Situated in the heart of Athens, the park is a transitional zone between the Lycabettus hill and the urban network. By being next to one of the main streets of Athens, Alexandra’s avenue, it is easily accessible by both car and public transport. The main concept of the synthesis is based on three “lines”. It is an elevated metallic route and a concrete promenade, which leads to the hill and a green line following them. The green paths have an integrating role in the synthesis, with the height, the color and the density of the leaves creating different paths. They can be used as a horizontal barrier or people can walk among them, they can also create shadow for people to sit under.

project
Intentions _ master plan The objective of the intervention is to redevelop the area of the former Caputcos Project by creating cultural and entertainment spaces. It is supposed not only to improve the conditions of living by creating new public spaces and services but also to attract tourists and other visitors. The main point, which is situated in the hospital, focuses on Art and History and contains the museum, art exhibition spaces, workshops and the library. It is accessible from various directions and creates the distinctive destination in the district. In order to attract new residents – young and creative people – the residential areas are redeveloped. In the surroundings of the hospital there are student residences introduced as well as family houses. The existing habitation is improved by redesigning of the courtyards and opening them to the green spaces. The green pathway connects the development block and creates new communication opportunities.
