NECA Show Review, EA Begins it’s 34th Year & 2017 Hurricanes Mitch Pope and I recently attended the Annual National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA) meeting and Trade Show. This year’s convention was held at the Seattle Convention Center on October 7-10. The NECA show featured 250 exhibitors with products and services specifically designed and manufactured for electrical contractors. This conference is for NECA members and the industry to learn and discuss the newest innovations and electrical code changes. This was our 32nd year attending as an exhibitor and it’s always a pleasure working with the NECA staff. We were again impressed with the number of new exhibitors and products at the show. For example, we were next to Granite Industries’ booth. They have a new motorized utility work platform that looks like scaffolding. Once you are on it, you can raise and lower it and drive it around. The fact you can easily transport it using a small SUV or pickup has a big advantage as well. I saw electrical contractors stop to watch their demonstration in amazement. Although I don’t work in the field, I could see an advantage of having one of these. One of the things I like to do at the show is talk with Contractors that walk by our booth. I first ask if they are receiving the magazine. I’d say 90% already do. If they don’t, we make sure to get them on our mail list.
