Local Organizations Receive Operation Round Up Grants Apply For A Grant

Dubois REC is pleased to announce $8,500 was awarded to three local organizations in the most recent round of Operation Round Up grants.

The Dubois County Humane Society received a $5,000 grant to upgrade kennels.

Young Women Lead received a $2,500 grant to fund their Summer 2023 Women’s Conference.

Widows Barrel Food Pantry received a $1,000 grant to purchase hygiene products to restock inventory.

We appreciate the generosity of the Dubois REC members who allow us to round up their electric bill a few cents each month to support this important program. Those extra nickels, dimes and quarters go into a community fund that allows us to give back to local organizations and groups like the ones in this article.

If you are not currently participating in Operation Round Up, please visit www.duboisrec.com and look under the “Community” tab. You can find an “opt-in” form in the Operation Round Up section. The next meeting of trustees to consider grant applications will be held on March 13. The deadline to submit an application for a grant is 4 p.m. on Feb. 28.

If you are part of a non-profit group, volunteer fire department, youth program, food pantry or similar organization, please consider applying for a grant. Go to www.duboisrec.com and look under the “Community” tab for Operation Round Up information and a downloadable application.

The easy way to access your electric account

We know our members are busy, so Dubois REC offers SmartHub as a quick and easy way to access your account, get questions answered, pay your electric bill and more.

Members can get valuable information by using SmartHub to monitor electric use. The daily, monthly and yearly energy use analysis tools show how electric bills are affected by the weather and can give insight into varying bill amounts. The SmartHub app also allows members to contact the co-op and customize the automated notifications they’d like to receive by text or email. Visit www.duboisrec.com and create a SmartHub account, or download the app for your mobile device.

While you’re on our website, be sure to take some time to look around. You’ll find information about rebate and incentive programs to help you purchase energy-efficient HVAC and water heating equipment, information about student programs and our Operation Round Up program that helps support local organizations.
