GET WILD A culinary weekend like no other, Whiskey, Wine & Wildlife (W3) on Jekyll Island artfully combines renowned beverage tastings and inspired cuisine from some of the South’s best chefs and local culinary superstars, with a chance to experience coastal wildlife up-close. Sip and savor great whiskey, spirits, wine, beer and culinary tastings in an oceanfront setting with music and a relaxed island vibe. The September 9-12 events begin Thursday with a Wine Dinner & Launch Party, continue with Friday’s Master Classes, Wine Cruise, a Whiskey Inspired tasting event, and Saturday’s W3 main event in Beach Village, and close with Sunday Brunch. W3 raises funds and awareness for programs of the Jekyll Island Foundation, with the island’s research and education experts on-hand Friday and Saturday, showcasing some fun, interactive programs with coastal wildlife, from sea turtles to alligators. For detailed information and tickets for each event, visit whiskeywineandwildlife.com. FESTIVAL TURNS FIFTY This September, Glynn Visual Arts will celebrate its 50th year hosting their popular Fall Arts Festival. True to tradition, this free community event under the oaks of Postell Park in the Village on St. Simons Island will showcase artists from around the region representing a wide range of mediums. Up to 70 artists and craftspeople are expected to present a variety of original two and three-dimensional art, sculpture, photography, jewelry, textiles, ceramics, wood, metal and glass, all available for purchase. This fun festival features unique offerings with something for everyone, art, food, music, a parade, and a free kid’s arts/crafts area known as the “Kid’s Creation Station.” The festival will run from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Saturday, September 25, and Sunday, September 26. Don’t miss this entertaining weekend for all! For details, follow Glynn Visual Arts on Facebook or visit glynnvisualarts.org.

YARDI-GRAS IS COMING Forget Christmas in July; Brunswick’s PorchFest 2021 committee is making Mardi Gras in November a thing! Get your beads out, because the saints, and maybe a few sinners, will come marching in on November 14 in the form of local and regional musicians and performers to play on porches and in a variety of venues downtown. The committee is currently accepting applications for porch hosts and performers for this Yardi-Gras celebration until October 15. Sponsors and volunteers are also needed for this neighborhood music celebration that showcases our community’s hospitality. Get involved or just mark your calendars to come out at noon to enjoy a day of music and merriment, rain or shine. Follow Brunswick PorchFest on Facebook for more details and updates. For additional information about performing, hosting, volunteering, and sponsoring, and application forms, visit hbrunswicknpa.org/porch-fest.
