Self-Confidence Equals Success

I’m often asked why I changed from Family Medicine to Aesthetics. Though I was always procedural, it was certainly not a direct path. Being Board Certified in Geriatrics, I loved caring for those 65 years and older. Over the past fifteen years of practicing medicine, it became striking to me how differently people age, so I began studying functional medicine, which included bio-identical hormones and medical assisted weight loss. After years of seeing patients who were not too excited about medication management, lab review or wound debridement, I began seeing patients who were thrilled that they felt better and had more energy following hormone treatment. Often patients were moved to tears when they experienced dramatic results with their weight loss. I wanted more of this!

While it is true that I initially told my husband Doug, “Aesthetic Medicine is not

real medicine, and I will never do Botox or fillers,” I quickly came to realize that for many Botox was better than Prozac and completely changed my mind. Each new treatment offered led to more smiles, and I was hooked! Nothing is more gratifying than a truly happy patient – the ones that can’t stop looking at themselves in the mirror as they leave the office. Their happiness and newfound confidence fuel my passion to continue learning.

Aesthetics is an ever expanding and constantly changing industry regarding both techniques and technology innovation. I’m honored to be a panelist and trainer for several world-renowned laser companies. Serving as a speaker at Aesthetic conferences around the U.S. has allowed me the opportunity to meet and learn from thousands of my Aesthetic physician colleagues, and to try out all the latest devices, so I can bring only the best to the Golden Isles! St. Simons Island has provided the perfect backdrop for Imber, our boutique Aesthetic and Anti-Aging clinic. Doug and I are so thankful to be able to raise our family in this wonderful community, his hometown! We focus on offering a tiered menu so clients of any age, budget, or skin type can obtain preventative, corrective or maintenance treatments to fit their individual needs. As we expand, I will continue to prioritize treatment options that provide natural, long lasting, maximal results with minimal discomfort. I love what I do and there is no greater joy than to help build someone’s confidence. Yes, it’s about confidence…not vanity! No apologizing, no excuses, no guilt. And there’s the patient who had a procedure in preparation for a cruise and beamed while relaying how attentive and complimentary her husband was the entire trip.
