Originally published in 2009, ImagiNAILtion was the world’s first dedicated nail art magazine. Created by Iryna and Bob Giblett the magazine has the following objectives: • to “Educate and Inspire” nail technicians to develop high-quality nail art skills • to give knowledge from some of Europe’s leading nail art schools • to promote the best nail artists and help them achieve recognition Each 32-page magazine contains 10 step-by-step tutorials together with articles from industry leaders. The tutorials are grade from beginner to advanced, so that you can re-visit the magazine as your skills develop. ImagiNAILtion has been sold to 16 countries and is supplied free to VIP Club customers.

About Iryna Originally a microbiologist working in a health laboratory, Iryna discovered her passion for nail enhancements and nail art in 1998. She qualified as a nail technician during the same year, became an Educator in 1999 and was invited to judge at the first Ukrainian National competitions in 2002. Since moving to Sweden in 2006, Iryna has developed an international reputation as a nail artist, magazine editor, competitor, international educator and international competition judge. Her work has been published in professional nail magazines in seven countries, including 10 magazine front covers and more than 30 articles. Iryna introduced Russian nail art to Sweden in 2007 through a series of tutorials in the Naglar i Norden magazine. The same year she established the first school in Scandinavia to specialise in advanced nail art education. During 2007 and 2008 her articles in international nail magazines led to a wider recognition and an invitation to be an Educator on the 2009 Vicki Peters “Nail Those Profits At Sea” cruise in the USA, where she impressed some of the top nail technicians in the USA with her skills. In 2009 Iryna became the European nail artist to tour several cities in the USA where her nail art classses in Orlando, Las Vegas, Portland and New York were sold out. As an invited Educator at Premier Orlando her nail art class attracted more than 90 nail technicians making it one of the most attended classes of the show. In 2010 she was the first Ukrainian to be invited to judge at the prestigious International Nail Competition in Düsseldorf (“World Championships”), Nailympics (London) and the World Nail Art Competition (Munich). Apart from creating beautiful nails, Iryna’s other passion is to pass her knowledge on to other nail technicians and see their surprise at their new skills.

Competition White Gel

The Kudos Top Gel is a long-lasting, high shine gel that is self-leveling and can be used with all gel systems. It has a low heat reaction, doesn’t yellow, has a low odor and produces a hard glass-like finish. Kudos No-Wipe Top Gel This is a UV finishing gel that creates a beautiful shiny look to the nails. Unlike other top gels, Kudos No-Wipe does not create a dispersion layer and doesn’t need to be wiped. When applied on top of nail art, it gives depth to the design.

Gentle™ Gels

Soak-off gels for nail strengthening Soak-off gels are said to be ‘soft’ gels in comparison to the traditional ‘hard’ gels. Soft gels are not as durable, but have the advantage that they can be easily removed by soaking the nails in a remover solution, rather than being filed. The Gentle gels are used to strengthen and protect weak natural nails. We also offer a range of 10 colored gels that are designed to be a more permanent and chip-free nail polish.

A clear soak-off gel that is suitable for nail strengthening or to build the nail shape.

Gentle Arctic White Gel

For tip overlays and free-form sculpting, this is a bright white soak-off gel for creating perfect smile lines and that has some self leveling.

For customers who have thin natural nail plates and feel an uncomfortable heat when curing in the UV lamp using traditional gels; we have developed a new low-heat gels called Kudos Cool.

Cool Clear Gel

A clear gel that can be used with tips or for sculpting. Easy to apply, self leveling and flexible. Remains cool while curing.

Cool Cover Peach Gel

This is a camoflage gel with a warm peach color that is used for nail bed extension or hiding imperfections in the natural nail.

Kudos™ Acrylics

Created from experience The Kudos Liquid & Powder products use the finest grain powers and modern chemical formulations to produce strong acrylic nails that are lift-free, don’t yellow, are easy to apply and produce a beautiful glassy-look nail that is bubble-free. We offer two different Acrylic product ranges: Kudos Salon and Kudos Master. Kudos Salon Acrylics

The Salon acrylic powders have a medium setting speed (polymerization) and are recommended for nail schools or nail technicians that prefer to have more time to work with the material. Five colors are available: Alpine White, Natural Pink, Clear Pink, Cover Pink and Clear.

Kudos Odorless Monomer

Developed specifically for nail technicians who work in beauty or hair salons where monomer odors are not appreciated, this Odorless Liquid is compatible with both the Master and Salon Powders and produces glossy, light and reliable nails. A residual sticky layer is deliberately produced that reduces the amount of dust while filing. Choose a #7 flat brush when using the Odorless Monomer otherwise the ball will be too wet. Kudos No-Wipe Top Gel This is a UV finishing gel that is used to seal acrylic nails and protect them from staining (for example if the customer is a hairdresser). To soak-off the nails you will need to file away the No-Wipe Gel first.

Kudos Master Acrylics

The Master acrylic powders have a fast  setting speed (fast polymerization) and are recommended for use in competitions or by experienced nail technicians that have the ability to work quickly. Five colors are available: Alpine White, Natural, Clear Pink, Darker Pink and Clear. Cover Pink is available in the Salon Acrylic System.

InspirationZâ&#x201E;˘ Liquids Create your own acrylic colors!

The InspirationZ Liquids are available in the primary color concentrates of Red, Blue and Yellow. Simply add a one or more drops of Liquid Color to the monomer to create new translucent acrylic colors. You will need to experiment with the number of drops you use as this determines the depth of the color. Adding different Liquid Colors or using colored acrylic can also create new colors! InspirationZ Liquids are supplied in a 15 ml bottle and come with a dropper for easy application.

Did You Know?

• Like any natural material, there is a big difference in the available quality of Kolinsky hair. The quality depends on the climate and the available diet for the Red Sable. The best quality hair is taken from the animals tail. • The quality of hair from the male Red Sable is much better than the quality of the female hair. • A highly experienced brush maker is able to make a brush with different hair widths, so that it performs perfectly. • Low-cost brushes are often cut to shape. With top-quality brushes, the shape is made from the position of the un-cut hair. • In low-cost brushes, the hair stops just inside the ferrule to save money. In high quality brushes, the hair continues for at least 1cm to 2 cm inside the ferrule because this extra length helps the brush keep it shape for a longer time. • The Red Sable is nearly extinct in Siberia and this makes the best Kolinsky hair even more expensive.

Nail Preparation

X2 Primer and X7 Preparation Both X2 and X7 have been specially formulated to give the best possible results together with the Kudos gels and acrylics, and the Gellini gel polishes. Using other primers and nail preparations can give unpredictable results which may cause the nail material to yellow or lift. X7 Nail Preparation

X7 has been specially formulated to dehydrate and sanitize the nail bed.

X2 OneBond non-acid Primer

X2 is a modern formulation that gives excellent adhesion between the nail plate and the material. It is a nonacid primer so it will not damage the natural nail. X2 is compatible with all Kudos gels and acrylics, and also the Gellini gel polishes. It’s very important to apply X2 correctly. Use very little of the product and “stipple” the brush on the nail plate. Watch one of the video’s on our website to see how to apply this correctly.

Top Coats and Cuticle Oils

Top Coats X10 has been developed to add strength to natural nails. It is applied like a nail polish on top of the natural nail, with one or two layers.

X5 Diamond Coat

Apply a layer of X5 on top of nail polish to create a beautiful glossy finish that is scratch and chip resistent.

It is also a very good base for nail polish, because the nail will look smoother and the nail polish will last longer without damage.

Cuticle Oils It has been scientifically proven that massaging cuticle oil into the cuticle area every day, increases blood flow to the area and promotes nail growth. It is also essential that customers who wear soak-off gels, gel polishes or foils (such as Minx) apply cuticle oil every day because otherwise there is a risk that the natural nail plate will dehydrate.

Fantasy Forms The Arabella soft plastic forms are used to practise your design skills, develop Mixed-Media and Fantasy nails or to create individual nail art design details such as a 3D rose that you then apply to the nails. Each form measures 10 cm long and is shaped like a nail in 10 different sizes. Each packet contains 20 forms. The fantasy forms can be pinched, drawn on and are also reusable.

The Digital UV Lamp

The Digital UV Lamp is a top of the range model that contains four Philips 9W UV-A bulbs. It has 5-step keypad timer that has increments of 30, 90, 120, 180 seconds and continuous. This “Made in Germany” lamp has reflectors inside and comes with bulbs and a 24 month warranty.

Low-Cost LED UV Lamp

This UV Lamp uses the latest technology electronic UV-A LED lights to deliver an environmentally friendly and cost-effective solution. Each LED lamp has a lifetime of over 50,000 hours - which means it’s highly unlikely that you will ever need to change these. Traditional UV bulbs contain mercury, that is dangerous to the environment. So the LED lamp is a greener way to cure gel nails. Apart from saving money on replacing bulbs, the LED lamp has one other main advantage. Unlike UV bulbs that produce less UV-A over time and can cause under curing, the LED UV-A lights produce a nearly constant output. The LED lamp can only be used with the Gentle gels and Gellini gel polishes. The cure time depends on the color of the gel, but is between 30 to 60 seconds.

Trainer Hand Trainer Hand The Training Hand is an excellent tool for students to practice making gel or acrylic nails. It is always with you, never complains and does not answer the phone: -) The kit includes the special removable nail-tips that are mounted on the fingers. The fingers can be moved and the hand can be rotated. The fingers of the Training Hand can be put into a UV lamp to cure the gel nails.
