Kindergarten in Chandigarh Date: 2013-2014. Place: Chandigarh, India. Course: Final Thesis. Tutors: Torres, Jorge_Sanchís, Salvador_Mejía, Clara
This project deals with the contruction of a kindergarten, for children from three to six years old, in Chandigarh, India. This city is characterized by a strict “masterplan”, realized by great architects like Le Corbusier, among others. It is divided in orthogonal sectors which make similarity with the internal function of a human body. The school is located in Sector 10, close to Leisure Valley, in an area with a very green setting and abundant vegetation. I try to resolve the project making some references to the environment, culture and climatology of the place, combined with applied psychological concepts, as increasing work in groups, where children can learn from each other; this is achieved by flexible spaces and visual interconnectivity among them. The main ideas, besides the flexibility, are based on trying to focus all the spaces outside so sunlight and ventilation is gained, separating common areas from classrooms, and on using the section as a source of natural light and air. Local materials for its construction as concrete, brick and wood are used.

Residential building in Valencia Date: 2011-2012. Place: Valencia, Spain. Course: Architectural Desing III. 4th year_ETSAV, UPV. Tutors: Nieto, Francisco
The project consist of the development of a residential building between another two, which is located in the Eixample of Valencia, Spain. The main idea comes from dividing the space into two volumes, creating private areas inside of it. The first volume hosts a height building, which is oriented towards street and it has practically the same height of the adjacent buildings. This one is composed of simple houses in the ground floor, whereas upper levels accommodate duplexs. The second volume consists of seven single apartments moved creating a play of different areas and backyards. All the houses are opened in each facade, taking advantage of natural air and sunlight. All the construction and division is based on the same idea of modulation and it considers the classic surrounding architecture.

Urban Intervention in Valencia Date: 2012. Place: Valencia, Spain. Course: Architectural Desing IV. 5th year_ETSAV, UPV. Tutors: Domingo, Débora
It is intended to do an intervention in “La Punta” district, in the city of Valencia, whose aim is to rehabilitate a suburb area which does not have public buldings or spaces, and it is highly polluted because of the presence of the port, the railway and the highway within its delimitations. As first approach, the restoration of the old lines orchard’s boundaries is intended, combining them with the vertical ones from the nearby district. Dotations such as a school, a high school, a clinic and a market place, will be inserted in differents points, breaking with the current system. This project must be developed as a functional system that must satisfy several goals which have to be followed through out all that distric and it can be expanded or reduced, depending on the system’s needs, such as the location of building following the lines, servant areas, system of contruction, etc.

Town Hall in Mieres Date: 2011-12. Place: Mieres (Asturias), Spain. Course: Architectural Desing III. 4th year_ETSAV, UPV. Tutors: Nieto, Francisco
This building is located in Mieres, a small village in the nothern Spanish province of Asturias. The project consists of design a new Town Hall for this village due to the lack space in the old one to provided all the required services. It is placed in a unique area, with an old church in it, so by that reason I separate from it and create the distinction of both. One of the first inspiring ideas comes from the presence of differents building heights, as imitation the surrounding mountains. This kind of building required the existence of open areas, close areas and private ones, which are differentiated by three different volumes, where the most private one is the tallest, and the most public is on the left. A little cozy public squared serves as entrance to the building.

Residential and study for architects Date: 2011-2012. Place: Valencia, Spain. Course: Architectural Desing III. 4th year_ETSAV, UPV. Tutors: Nieto, Franciso
A multifunctional building located in the Eixample os Valencia is required for built houses and a study for architects. Its particularity dimensions, narrow and long area (4’3m x 34m), makes the design challenging. Guide by the peculiarity of its dimensions, the approach is generating an inner courtyard for private leisure use, so that the area is divided in two different volumes, allowing sunlight floods and natural air circulation. The principal volume has the housing and the public part of the Study, and the second one the working part of this. The Study has an exhibition room in the entrance of the building. In addition, an empty box very permeable is built in such a way that contains both volumes with the objective of avoiding the views inside the blocks.
