2. What’s the relationship between Don and Sylvia like? How does it change from the beginning to the end of this story? What do you think it will be like in the future? I think they never stopped loving each other although Sylvia tried to rebuild her life with another man. After one year without seeing each other they were faroff but their daughter joined them and that was why they met again. The famous phrase that goes: “you don’t appreciate what you have until you lose it” could be used to explain what happened here.Don realized that his family was very important when he divorced and he had to part from them. Sylvia realized too when she heard that the plane on which her ex husband and her daughter were flying had an accident. In the future I think they will be a happy couple if they pay attention each other, from mistakes you learn. 3. Who has been your favourite character in this story? Give reason for your answer, including a description of that character. My favourite character was Judy. She is a teenager, 14 years old, she has long dark wavy hair, and the same pretty face as her mother, she looks brown and well from her outdoor life in the country. She showed a great courage and she was very clever. She put her knowledge acquired at school and in her life in the country into practice. I think that many people aren’t able to do the same as she did, especially if they are 14 years old, for example, to ride wild horses to travel more quickly, to go alone in unknown places to find help when her father injured his leg, to keep calm in the presence of people with weapons ready to kill you at any time... 6. Write a different ending to the story. First imagine that Carl Petersen’s boss isn’t Patrick Forsha, but another business man. Sylvia reported Judy and Don’s disappearance and they were rescued two days later. The authorities and government agents heard about the uranium business and they arrested all the people connected with the case. Sylvia got angry with Don once and for all because of letting their daughter go with him on such a dangerous journey. Sylvia got married to Patrick because she thought that he would be a great father for her daughter. Judy refused to accept that and she went to live with Don, her true father. Don and Judy lived together in a small house in the country and all nights Don told her stories about famous planes.
