ACTIVITY 4

This is Guernica, one of the most popular painting of Picasso. It shows the tragic results of the Spanish civil war in 1936-1939. The german air force damaged all the town and kill lots of people and animals. In this painting Picasso wants to show the big destruction of the town and how it influenced all the people, the animals, the flowers, the houses and the objects. In the picture we can see some scared people crying for help or in pain and also very tired. All the designs are the one up to the other and we can’t distinguish them very well. Picasso has make it like this because he want it to show the αναταραχη. Also the colors are dark to show the blues and the sadness. We can see a white head which inserts into the room with a candle to bring the light which symbolizes the hope. I believe that Picasso describes the situation very well without words. All the characteres are symbols and this picture had made lots of people be full of emotions. By Asmani Sofia, A1

Happiness

Happiness is living free Happiness is lying carefree under a tree Happiness is swimming in the calm sea Happiness is flying like a small bee

Think of all the things you have Your friends, your health and your mom Search for the bright side Make your day better with a smile

Don’t let anyone make you feel sad And smile when you lose your luck Happiness is a lonely star Beaming above us!

• Technology at our service…. Lately students are encouraged to type their work and share it uploading it on a wikis page we have created for this reason. This is done at home, at their own time and space. Not all are willing to contribute though, for various reasons…. (laziness to type, too shy, no access to computer or internet). The ideal would have been access to the computer room to type their corrected piece and upload it.

Students made power point presentations and uploaded them on our wiki

HAPPINESS!!! Happiness is very subjective For lots of people happiness means an optimistic smile‌
