C O N T E M P O R A R Y. A R T . M U S E U M milano, via torino - 2011 proff. G. Denti, F. Bocchialini, G.M. Tedeschi work done with G. M. Morigi Due to the proximity of Duomo, via Torino is one of the main commercial axes of the Milanese historical center. Nonetheless, several minor axes contradict its regularity and contribute to a complex network of paths. The museum attests the importance of the main street, while maintaining a public permeability inside its boundaries, and provides connection and integration rather than delimitation. Circulation inside the building allows the indipendent fruition of different permanent collections, as well as several temporary exhibition spaces. The massive stone volumes are kept together as fragments by the integrity of the glass-covered void, core of the composition. Internal spaces are differenciated on the basis of the various art media, such as sculpture and spatial installations, video projections or painting and photography.

N U A G E . P A V I L I O N milano, politecnico di milano - 2012 prof. A. Zanelli, C. Monticelli work done with A. Giacomelli, G.M. Morigi and E. Raimondi In the context of the Building Construction Workshop for Lightweight Temporary Pavilions, the main focus was to design 1:1 details of a tensile structure and to produce and assemble the components on site. The name ‘Nuage’ refers to the inflatable nature of the light roof, made of PVC cushions, suspended over thin cardboard tubes. Most of the materials was being reused after their normal life-cycle, such as the europallets for the floor, up to the cardboard pillars themselves, previously utilised as supports for plotter paper. The design was at first tested with 3D analysis software such as Kangaroo and Grasshopper, and then prototyped at a smaller scale to verify the construction issues, thus adapting the evolving model. Finally, the assemblage of the components enabled us to explore the post-design issues of such an experimental project.

C U L T U R A L . C E N T R E paris, cimitere du père lachaise - 2012 prof. F. Tagliabue Project of a cultural centre in the famous cemetery of Pere Lachaise in Paris. Conception of different spaces and relations between interior and exteriors. The program was about giving a building with a new meaning for the cemetery and for the city. In fact, an important aspect was the fact that the cemetery has different types of fruition: by visitors for the deceased and by tourists for the famous people. It can be seen as a “thematic park”, so it needs a centre that can give different informations to people. I worked with massive volumes to remember the coffin form and to give back a spirituality needed in that place. I also worked with “streets” and paths inside the buildings to give a new importance to the walking through the cemetery.

CONTEMPORARY.FACTORY milano, via privata oslavia - 2013 prof. I. Forino, F. Rapisarda work done with S. Badessi and S. Piana In the interior of abandoned industrial building, I responded to the demand for housing and space for exhibitions. The project is divided between public and private spaces, workspaces and shared spaces. I also designed the housing of “cell” for temporary use. The building is situated in a part of the city of Milan that lived particularly during the Fuori Salone event, so because of temporary exhibitions and installation. I decided to leave the central part of the building totally empty. I put the cafe and bookshop near the private street, more open to people flows. I worked also with the exhisting materials, leaving the structure as it was and inserting white elements, referring the project to the japanese architects’ works like Sejima and Fujimoto architectures.

P A E S A G G I I N F O R M I prof. M. Moreno together with E. Raimondi

“Whenever there is a revolution, or fast change, in architecture professional barriers break down as specialist exchange roles. Architects become sculptors, engineers become designers, artists turn into architects, and all these job descriptions become fuzzy.

Rem Koolhaas

Design inside the contemporary world means dealing daily with the complexity of a changing reality , in which traditional categories of space , design and shape are losing their original definition .Each of them is having to deal with new questions, the same ray environments at different scales , and to be involved in intervention strategies inevitably produced by hybridization of traditional disciplines. An effective response to the urgent needs of contemporary design is the synergy of contributions from multiple fields of study. In this context, we consider the basic example Landscape Urbanism , discipline born of the desire of urban planners and landscape architects to unify their knowledge in a unique approach to urban planning. Environmental work on all scales requires a different way of conducting the discourse around the issue of the formal structure of the architecture. The temporal dimension of the process also requires further analysis and intervention tools more and more synthetic and flexible methods. Therefore consider what are the possible contemporary architectural discipline so if variable responses , it is the goal of our work.
