Poem

by Eleonora Zlotnikova “He said…, she said…” Her husband decided it for her He said he was right He thought it was her privilege She thought it was her plight There was a dog in the house To keep an eye on what was going on She was also supposed to be around While he was working alone She got tired and lazy Staying at home But he said it was her privilege Not a boredom She cleaned the garbage cans After the tenants He said it was right First she had to compromise Then she decided to fight It was in early spring On a sunny and beautiful day That she dared to tell him What she would never say She said it was unfair She said it was wrong He said he doesn’t care It was brewing in her too long She did not want to convince him Too hard work to do She began changing her ways A good example for you

Devoted to Lisa, my landlord’s wife
