Mercy Health is leasing the 2,500square-foot space, which will provide primary care. Mercy Health–West Clermont Family Medicine is to open Oct. 2. Dr. James O’Dea is the physician leader for the practice, which will include three doctors and three nurse practitioners who see patients on a rotating schedule. The providers also practice at Forest Hills Family Medicine. Four staff members will support the practice. The cost of building the HealthPlex and medical office was included in the budget for the high school, which is at the intersection of Clough Pike and Bach-Buxton Road in Union Township. The high school is about 350,000 square feet, exclusive of the HealthPlex and medical office. It can accommodate 2,500 students. The district owns the HealthPlex and will keep any profits generated by the facility. It encompasses 25,000 square feet, not counting basketball courts and a swimming pool that are shared with the school and open to HealthPlex members after school hours. The fitness center at 4104 Bach-Buxton Road is operated by Chicago-based Midtown Health, which also manages 1/2

the four other Mercy HealthPlexes in Greater Cincinnati. “This is the first known partnership between a school district, medical system and club management company to offer a state-of-the-art health and wellness club for the community, Mercy Health spokeswoman Nanette Bentley said. The West Clermont HealthPlex has 10 full-time employees and 25 part-time workers. The club is still hiring, so the number is expected to go up as the club adds more fitness classes, programming and trainers. The Fitness Floor features brand-new Matrix cardio equipment with personal viewing screens that provide access to Direct TV, Facebook and Twitter. They also connect via wireless Bluetooth technology with personal fitness trackers.
