Messer Construction’s former Bond Hill headquarters is bustling with new life this week. Chicago-based Regeneration Schools has transformed the former office at 5158 Fishwick Drive into an educational campus. The school will house kindergarten and first grade this year and progressively expand to students in grades K-4. The 26,000-square-foot building has been completely gutted to create nine general education classrooms; dedicated rooms for art, music and special education; offices and collaboration spaces for teachers and staff; a cafeteria, and a flex space for physical education as well as other activities. Regeneration plans to build an 8,000-square-foot expansion including a half-court gym, cafeteria performance stages and additional classrooms by the end of summer 2022. Cincinnati-based Elevar Design Group was the architect on the project, while Fishers, Ind.-based Meyer Najem Construction LLC. was the general contractor. Regeneration CEO Stacey Shells and Ohio region COO Andres Tolentino grew up in Kennedy Heights. After opening two schools in Rochester and six schools in Chicago, they were ready to return to Cincinnati for their next building. Messer announced in January 2015 that it was searching for a new headquarters after outgrowing its Bond Hill space. It moved into its West End headquarters just outside the Central Business District in September 2017. Regeneration Schools purchased the Bond Hill building on April 12 for $1,550,000, according to Cushman & Wakefield. Digger Daley, director of Cushman & Wakefield, represented Messer in the sale. Tori Stefanou, senior director of Cushman & Wakefield, represented Regeneration Schools. Erin Caproni Digital Producer Cincinnati Business Courier
