We chose the name ‘elevar’, the Spanish word for elevate, because we believe it encompasses our core values of: Ability, Experience, Teamwork, Creativity,

Elevar has grown from humble beginnings into a staff of more than 80 employees. This growth occurred organically as Elevar continued to design in new markets and build relationships with new clients. Tom Fernandez CEO

As the CEO of Elevar Design Group, Tom Fernandez is responsible for the overall vision and innovation of the firm. He facilitates design direction and ensures that his staff is equipped to provide the best solutions to clients. Since assuming executive leadership of the firm in the late 1980s, Tom has been instrumental in growing the staff into the multi-disciplined team of specialized designers it is today.

Kim Patton President

Kim Patton serves as President of Elevar Design Group, guiding the design staff in daily operations and profitability. Kim’s energy and innovation have been the key to his successful career which has spanned nearly 30 years in many different markets. An Architect by trade, his vast experience has influenced his ability to grow Elevar’s staff and to provide clients with costeffective and creative solutions.

Tony Lozier

Senior Vice President, Engineering Tony Lozier has more than 43 years of experience in MEP Engineering. As Principal of Elevar’s MEP team, he directs all engineering services and ensures the highest quality results for clients. His widespread experience has served as an asset to many of Elevar’s projects, as Tony has the ability to lead the engineering team toward the best solutions for all client projects.

Mark Browning has been recognized for his work by local and national organizations including the AIA/ Design for Aging Knowledge Community. Mark is a Certified Eden Associate and has been an advocate for advancing the senior housing industry through innovative design, research and participation in national and international conferences. With 40 years of experience, Mark has been involved in both the for-profit and notfor-profit industries, and he has a large portfolio of projects focusing senior living clients.

Ms. Klein has years of experience working with Senior Living clients, focusing her efforts on performing studies, programming, space planning, specifications, client consultations, ordering and project management. In addition, she is responsible for material selection and testing, color selection, FF&E design/layout and development of project specifications/documentation for same. Ms. Klein has worked with numerous public and institutional facilities. Project Team | 7

Elevar has focused on designing supportive environments which recognize how design can help to maximize the capabilities of residents. Sanctuary Pointe Cincinnati, OH

This Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation facility was designed to provide patients and long term care occupants with the feeling of being at home, while having access to a fully functional rehabilitation program. The holistic healing environment is complete with an array of rehabilitative and nursing services. The campus is comprised of an 89,000 SF, 124-bed recovery facility for rehabilitation and physically challenged patients, providing short term rehabilitation, memory care, and long term care.

All residents’ rooms are private and are equipped with private baths including roll-in showers. There is a 30-bed Alzheimer’s / Dementia wing for memory care patients. The rehabilitation services include physical, occupation and speech therapy. The rehabilitation services utilize an on-site state-of-the-art rehabilitation gym with the intention of returning residents to an active and healthy lifestyle.

Twin Towers North Expansion Cincinnati, OH

Established in 1899, Twin Towers has been known throughout its history for quality retirement living and nursing care in the atmosphere of a Christian community. Continuing to meet the changing needs of an increasingly active senior population, the Northern Expansion provided 54 large, fully-equipped independent apartments, a 400-seat multi-purpose facility, contemporary deli, and expanded administrative areas. Apartments range in size from 721 to 1,738 SF and include 1 and 2 bedroom units, featuring full kitchens and laundry.

Hunan Loudi Hospital and Senior Living Community Dalian, China

This senior living community consists of 82 buildings. Designed for China’s aging population as a continuing care retirement community, the project includes facilities for independent and assisted living, skilled nursing and rehabilitative care, and dementia care. Located in a major city and seaport in Northeast China, our approach was to design several distinct Senior Communities within the overall zone which provides

smaller scale, walkable neighborhoods, each with a unique identity. Organized around a linear park, the buildings are situated in a way that connects the residents to nature and natural light. This project is intended for independent seniors that choose to locate to a place that will provide carefree living and be able to support them as their needs increase with their age.

Mother Margaret Hall Cincinnati, OH

This major renovation and addition project consisted of the upgrading an existing 7-story Skilled Care Nursing facility of Mother Margaret Hall and a 7-story addition. The scope included demolition of the existing interior non-structural partitions, replacement of the existing HVAC and plumbing

and electrical systems and upgrades to the emergency system. The finished project boasts a new Porte-Cochere entry, renovated administrative areas and new resident rooms and support spaces to provide quality of care and life for the Sisters of Charity.

Marlowe Court College Hill, OH

Located in the Central Business District of College Hill, this development provides 53 affordable senior apartments and 4,000 SF of street level retail space. 22 one-bedroom apartments and 31 two-bedroom apartments offer modern amenities and interior finishes which are sensitive to senior needs such as non-slip surfaces, extra lighting, high visibility,

and ease of movement throughout the units. On site laundry, parking, storage and fitness facilities are also available to residents. Working with multiple partners in this pursuit, our team was instrumental in helping to secure a portion of the project financing from low income housing tax credits.

Kensington Preserve Senior Apartments Grand Rapids, MI

Elevar provided design services for the public spaces of the Kensington Preserve Senior Living Apartments in Grand Rapids, Michigan. This 3-story, 63 unit independent living complex is for individuals 55 and older and offers spaces and opportunities for its residents to socialize and participate in planned activities. Kensington boasts numerous amenities and community spaces to facilitate their programs including a large community event space with a bar, adjacent kitchen for

hospitality and classes, a day room, theater, patio and fitness room. The entry has a large fireplace as the focal point that spans the first two floors with adjacent gathering spaces. Our scope consisted of architectural consulting and interior design including finish selections, lighting selection and millwork design of the community spaces. The design encompasses the warmth and architectural sophistication of a craftsman style home.
