Project Update Corporate Protection Australia awarded $27.5 Million safety contract GEA member Corporate Protection Australia Group (CPA Group) has been awarded a three-year incident response services contract in the Western Downs. Under the A$27.5 million contract, CPA Group will provide a full-time fire and rescue team at each of QGC’s three main operational sites near Dalby, Chinchilla and Wandoan in the Surat Basin. The teams will form one of the largest private fire and rescue services in Australia with capacity to respond across about 4500 square kilometres. About 50 trained personnel will have specialist equipment and vehicles to respond in industrial and field environments. QGC is known to embrace the “One Team Being Safe Together” approach in everything they do. Cockatoo Coal gain Extension of the Keba loan facility Cockatoo Coal Limited (‘Cockatoo’) advises that SK Networks, Co., Ltd (‘SKN’), the ultimate parent entity of SK Networks Resources Australia Pty Ltd, an existing shareholder of the Company, has agreed to extend its guarantee of the KEB Australia Ltd (‘KEBA’) $100 million loan facility to 28 September 2013 in order to enable Cockatoo and SKN to progress their current discussions regarding the refinancing of the Facility and future funding of the Baralaba Expansion. Cockatoo has agreed to issue 50 million options to SKN on 15 October 2013 at an exercise price equal to the 20 day VWAP prior to October 15, 2013 as part consideration for the extension of the guarantee. Each option may be exercised to acquire one fully paid ordinary share in Cockatoo at the

exercise price at any time up to 15 April 2015. Cockatoo, in conjunction with SKN, is now progressing discussions with KEBA to agree the Facility extension to 28 September 2013, to match the guarantee extension. Further, Cockatoo has agreed to reduce the Facility to $95 million, with Cockatoo repaying $5 million from the proceeds to be received from the sale of its 30% interest in the Hume project as announced on 30 May 2013. Cockatoo’s plans to refinance the KEBA debt and fund the development of the Baralaba Expansion are progressing positively with negotiations ongoing with a number of parties including SKN.

1. Do you know if these assets are being inspected and maintained in a safe and serviceable condition?

Whenever we are lifting an object whether using a soft sling, wire rope sling, chain, shackle or other lifting device between the object and the means of lift (e.g. crane, forklift etc) we are creating a dangerous hazard that needs to be controlled. If your organisation uses lifting devices in

Beyond School Beyond School is a free event for schools focusing on science, technology and engineering opportunities and professions in the region. Self Managed Superannuation Fund (SMSF) Trustee rules new law Last year new laws were introduced to formalise the responsibilities of SMSF Trustees. A brief overview of these rules is set out below. SMSF trustees must now: • Regularly review the investment strategy of their SMSF • Consider insurance for members of the SMSF as part of the fund’s investment strategy • Value all SMSF assets at market value for reporting purposes, and; • Keep assets held by the SMSF separate from the assets of trustees, members, employers and associates. Reviewing your Investment Strategy As noted above SMSF Trustees must review the investment strategy of their SMSF to reflect the whole of the fund’s circumstances. The rules state that the investment strategy must consider the following.

• Liquidity • Ability to eliminate liabilities • Consider whether the trustee should hold insurance policies for members. If you haven’t done so already you should ensure your review has been completed by 30 June 2013, if not your fund may not be compliant.

Feature WALZ Group secures multi-million dollar contract with major Chinese company Queensland infrastructure company Walz Group has been awarded a multi-million dollar contract to construct the full mine infrastructure for the $300million Rockland’s copper mine, located near Cloncurry. Chinese company Sinosteel awarded the contract for the three million tonne per annum processing plant, with works to commence in June/July 2013. Walz Group CEO Mark Gregory said the contract represented a major coup for the company, and would involve all site structural, mechanical and piping installation works for the copper mine. “The contract is a significant win for Walz, and is expected to generate 120 jobs on site,” Mr Gregory said. “The installation of the processing plant is expected to take 250,000 man hours, and will be largely resourced from central and north Queensland, including the participation of our Townsville affiliate, J&D Rigging. “The processing plant will require 5,500 tonnes of structural steel, 2,400 tonnes of mechanical equipment and 43kms of piping. ”We are very excited about having established this relationship with Sinosteel, and will be looking to partner with them on other resource projects in the future.”

Sinosteel Equipment & Engineering Deputy General Manager and Chief Engineer Jiang Gongyang said it was a priority that the successful company was a local Queensland company which demonstrated the skill and expertise to deliver on a complex construction project of this nature. “Walz Group’s reputation for its construction and maintenance work on resource projects is very strong,” Mr Gongyang said. “This is a significant project for Sinosteel in Australia, with the three million tonne per annum process plant expected to produce approximately 480,000 tonnes of copper/gold, pyrite/cobalt and magnetite concentrates per year.” Sinosteel is a Fortune 500 company, and a major state owned Chinese company which has significant investments in resource projects in Australia and globally. The Rockland’s copper mine, owned by ASX top 200 company CuDeco, is located 15km from Cloncurry in north-west Queensland, and is one of the largest high grade copper mines in the state. The Cloncurry region represents the largest copper belt in Australia, and is host to the giant Mt Isa copper mine and the Ernest Henry copper mine.

The two gas supply paths are: - Continuing to actively cooperate with PetroChina in accordance with a Letter of Intent to use reasonable endeavours to negotiate and execute a commercial tolling agreement, for gas owned and arranged by PetroChina to be supplied to the Company’s first LNG train; and - Negotiate directly with gas suppliers. Discussions and greements are being progressed with two established gas supply parties.
