A Love Letter to Rapid City

Already this year, Rapid City took home two more awards, being named the #3 best city in the country for recent college graduates and the 25th best city in the country to raise a family.

It seems like everyone is starting to realize what’s special about Rapid City: world-class mountain biking, world-class brew pubs, and a worldclass downtown. Maybe that’s why Rapid City was the 36th fastestgrowing city in the US last year.

Want more proof? Wallethub named Rapid City the 12th best-run city in the country. The Wall Street Journal rated Rapid City as the #1 emerging housing market. And Rapid City was the #1 place people from Sioux Falls moved to. That’s right. Everyone East River wanted to come west.

Of course, we could go on and on and on. And so, we did.

Welcome to this issue of Elevate, where we explore all the reasons— well, at least 25 of them—we love Rapid City. While I won’t spoil the entire list here, let’s just say you’re going to be both rewarded for being so in the know and surprised by what you didn’t realize we had. I’m personally a fan of the entire list of reasons 20 through 25. Naturally, they involve eating or drinking.

What are your top 25? Do you agree or disagree with our list? Did we miss something? Should we have stopped at 25 when we could have gone for 100?

Let us know, and maybe we’ll get it on the list for our next 25. Until then, stay safe and God-speed.
