OUR SPIRITUAL COVERING Raphael Yapha. Lead Pastor, Living Springs Chapel.
The bible says many are called but few are chosen. That is how I can define the MMU Christian union, as among the few who are chosen. I have had the rare privilege of interacting with this breed of exceptional people from the pulpit and also from very close quarters and the following are my honest deductions: 1.There is a special grace deeply engraved in the fabric of the union that aids it pioneer and trail blaze constructive spiritual and intellectual movements that have the capacity to positively influence this generation at all levels and in the various strata of life. 2.The special unity that exists in the headship, leadership and membership has positioned her for the commanded blessing. 3.It is the epicenter of a variation of very unique and rare gifts that transcend from the pulpit to the market place. 4.The existing organizational structure is predicated on posterity with the rare glare to handle generation of leaders each comfortably running in their lane yet accomplishing the same vision. 5.Her unique ability to embrace people from different bckgrounds and walk of life favors her to reach and indelibly inscribe in the hearts of many others the gospel of our Christ and his kingdom on the earth. I consider myself privileged to have been your covering. I celebrate what God has done and is extremely excited about what God is about to do. In His Mighty Service. Raphael Yapha.

FIRST THINGS FIRST
WORD FROM DAD
DAD EMMANUEL FAVOR
What shall be said of a place that has so much relevance and memories that molded many to becoming who they currently are? MMU CU is my home. Forever. It is in this community of believers that my life took shape. It gave me clarity on a major part of the picture that God is painting of my life’s story. It birthed me to becoming the man I am today. Like a strong three-strand cord that cannot be broken, is the love that dwells among the people who are in this community. With love, commitment and understanding, this place literally took me on a journey of transformation of my mind, healing of my heart and an infilling of my spirit with the revelation of God’s perfect plan for my life and of those whom I had an encounter with. It is in this place that I found covenant sisters and brothers! The friendships that I built while at this place, will surely last me a lifetime. In a world of so much uncertainty, MMU CU created a safe environ-

ment for me to function as myself without judgement and prejudice. With the help of the amazing women and men of God who would occasionally come to minister to the CU members, the institution took its time to get some of us to a place of sanctity, stability and truth grounded in Christ. As a partaker of its riches, I know that that institution is Holy-Spirit breathed and the anointing flowing from that altar is evident. Truly, what shall be said of such a place? For me, even now, when someone mentions MMU CU it becomes deeply personal, because I know just how rich that gold mine is. I will forever cherish the place and most importantly the people I met while there.

TEARS ON THE ALTAR
TRUTH WONDERER
Beaten, bruised and battered Wavy feet, severing pain Exhausted finds last solace With a bent knee, he let’s loose the streams Years of holding back, craves freedom Grief overflowing, last refuge. He knelt on the Alter, to seek emancipation
There’s out there a wonder There upon it I constantly ponder There’s a truth I search That none other can match There’s a light that shine That leads the lost to the ninety nine Things wished for unbequethed Hope groped for to be reached.
Heart is heavy, body is tense Opens mouth, words dry in his throat All the guilt, and the burdens heavily upon laid He held on for long, and a bit longer Years of holding back, craves for liberation With a cough tears running down his chubby cheeks On the Alter, he cried a river of tears. “Come to me, you who are heavily laden,” said he With these words came all his grief The world was a harsh place for him Now he needed a rest from the fierce judging eyes Years of saying he’s okay, trying to look strong He finds his breath and slowly whispers “ God I’m sorry, I can’t do it no more.” So there on the Alter of Christ He saw the saving grace The place where at his solace rest Here he is a baby, on the arms of his father Here he knows nothing but grace Here he can cry himself to sleep Because at the alter, he feels at the feet of Him Tears at the alter, he cried for his soul.

There’s a hollow in the heart of a man A seeking of a cool place in a burn Ashes consolidated into flesh The filthy declared once more fresh There’s a web that our souls entangle Fights, wars and love triangle Seeking insatiable Making ourselves expendable. There’s a hope that can be found For the lost souls, the chained and bound A new song that they sing To praise the past victory in uncanny thing Void hearts filled with solace songs Tears, morass of sorrows, things heart longs Found in one truth older than ages He the order and founder of all ages.

God’s Greatest Adversaries
T
he greatest enemy of hunger for God, is not poison but apple pie. It is not the banquet of the wicked that dulls our appetite for heaven, but endless nibbling at the table of the world. It is not the X-rated video, but the prime-time dribble of triviality we drink in every night. For all the ill that Satan can do, when God describes what keeps us from the banquet table of his love, it is a piece of land, a yoke of oxen, and a wife (Luke 14:18–20). The greatest adversary of love to God is not his enemies but his gifts. And the most deadly appetites are not for the poison of evil, but for the simple pleasures of earth. For when these replace an appetite for God himself, the idolatry is scarcely recognizable, and almost incurable. One of the reasons food has this amazing power is that it is so basic to our existence. Why is this? I mean, why did God create bread and design human beings to need it for life? He could have created life that has no need of food. He is God. He could have done it any way he pleased. Why bread? And why hunger and thirst? My answer is very simple: He created bread so that we would have some idea of what the Son of God is like when he says, “I am the bread of life” (John 6:35). And he created the rhythm of thirst and satisfaction so that we would have some idea of what faith in Christ is like when Jesus said, “Whoever believes in me shall never thirst” (John 6:35). God did not have to create beings who need food and water and who have capacities for pleasant tastes. Hunger and thirst were created for the glory of Christ. And
fasting was created for the glory of Christ.Which means that bread magnifies Christ in two ways: by being eaten with gratitude for his goodness, and by being forfeited out of hunger for God himself. Let me try to show you why I think this is what Jesus means when he repels Satan with the words, “[Man shall live] on every word that comes from the mouth of God.” Why do I think Jesus is saying, “Trust in God, not in bread”?The key is found in the context of Deuteronomy 8:3 where Jesus gets the word in Matthew 4:4: Deutronomy 8:3 says “And he humbled thee, and suffered thee to hunger, and fed thee with manna, which thou knewest not, neither did thy fathers know; that he might make thee know that man doth not live by bread only, but by every [word] that proceedeth out of the mouth of the LORD doth man live” Notice carefully. Now he is saying that the giving of manna is the test. Not the withholding of food, but the giving of food—to teach them that man does not live by bread alone. He gave them manna, an utterly unheard-of food falling from heaven. Why? So that they would learn, Moses says, to live on everything that comes from the mouth of God. Now how is that? How does the giving of miraculous manna teach that? Because manna is one of the incredible ways God can, with a mere word, meet your needs when all else looks hopeless. So Moses’ point is that we must learn to depend on God and not ourselves. We must trust him for every utterly unexpected blessing that is commanded for us from the mouth of God.
But now watch what Satan does with that truth in dealing with Jesus. Satan says to Jesus, “If you are the Son of God, command these stones to become loaves of bread” (Matthew 4:3). In other words, “Make manna for yourself, like your Father did in the wilderness.” Satan is crafty in the extreme. He is a subtle exeggerate of Scripture. He knows the raw content of the Bible. He has seen that the manna was meant to teach the miracle-working power of God to provide for his people in distress. So he argues with Jesus, “The reason your Father gave manna in the wilderness was to teach the people to expect miracles in distress; so treat yourself to some miracle bread, and you will be obeying Scripture.” To this Jesus responds, “Satan, you are so close and yet so far. You have always handled the word of God that way, so subtly and so deceptively. You sound like you approve, but you turn every word against God. The point of the manna was this, Satan: Don’t trust in bread—nor even miracle bread—trust in God! Don’t get your deepest satisfactions in life from food—not even God-wrought miracle food—but from God. Every word that comes out of the mouth of God reveals God. And it is this self-revelation that we feed on most deeply. This will last for ever. This is eternal life. Be gone, Satan, God is my portion. I will not turn from his path and his fellowship, not even for miraculous manna.” See you at the top!! By Alex Mwaki

QUESTION?
What does the Bible say about sex before marriage? There is no Hebrew or Greek word used in the Bible that precisely refers to sex before marriage. The Bible undeniably condemns adultery and sexual immorality, but is sex before marriage considered sexually immoral? According to 1 Corinthians 7:2, “yes” is the clear answer: “But since there is so much immorality, each man should have his own wife, and each woman her own husband.” In this verse, Paul states that marriage is the “cure” for sexual immorality. First Corinthians 7:2 is essentially saying that, because people cannot control themselves and so many are having immoral sex outside of marriage, people should get married. Then they can fulfill their passions in a moral way. Since 1 Corinthians 7:2 clearly includes sex before marriage in the definition of sexual immorality, all of the Bible verses that condemn sexual immorality as being sinful also condemn sex before marriage as sinful. Sex

before marriage is included in the biblical definition of sexual immorality. There are numerous Scriptures that declare sex before marriage to be a sin (Acts 15:20; 1 Corinthians 5:1; 6:13, 18; 10:8; 2 Corinthians 12:21; Galatians 5:19; Ephesians 5:3; Colossians 3:5; 1 Thessalonians 4:3; Jude 7). The Bible promotes complete abstinence before marriage. Sex between a husband and his wife is the only form of sexual relations of which God approves (Hebrews 13:4). Far too often we focus on the “recreation” aspect of sex without recognizing that there is another aspect—procreation. Sex within marriage is pleasurable, and God designed it that way. God wants men and women to enjoy sexual activity within the confines of marriage. Song of Solomon and several other Bible passages (such as Proverbs 5:19) clearly describe the pleasure of sex. However, the couple must understand that God’s intent for
sex includes producing children. Thus, for a couple to engage in sex before marriage is doubly wrong—they are enjoying pleasures not intended for them, and they are taking a chance of creating a human life outside of the family structure God intended for every child. While practicality does not determine right from wrong, if the Bible’s message on sex before marriage were obeyed, there would be far fewer sexually transmitted diseases, far fewer abortions, far fewer unwed mothers and unwanted pregnancies, and far fewer children growing up without both parents in their lives. Abstinence is God’s only policy when it comes to sex before marriage. Abstinence saves lives, protects babies, gives sexual relations the proper value, and, most importantly, honors God.

Eshet chayil: woman of valor This rings a bell right? But before I tell you, guess… okay you got it! Proverbs 31 woman. A woman of noble character. She is worth far more than rubies. I know we all have, at one point, read this chapter and we were like, how? How can a person (human being for that matter) be so flawless and perfect. Many of us even discount the idea that this could be possible (this is one of those moments when we tend to forget that nothing is impossible to the Lord) and we end up feeling shortchanged. That we have worked so hard at this but we just don’t seem to get there. We, however, miss the point!
It is unlikely that Esther knew how to read or write. Clearly matters concerning the state were beyond her scope of expertise but that didn’t prevent her from fulfilling God’s purpose for her life. She trembled just at the thought of meeting the King but she stopped at nothing to save her people just like the proverbs 31 woman would take care of her household. Therefore, in our attempt to become women of valor let’s remember that it is in our weakness that His power is made perfect. By Mercy Mwende
First, this woman was a fictional character in the bible. The story is based on the saying of king lemuel on what his mother taught him. This were the qualities he prayed for that his future wife would possess. This brings me to the realization that the target audience for this chapter was men. It was meant for men to celebrate their women, daughters and most importantly pray that their wives would grow into this virtuous woman. But we have turned the table around and made it a checklist for women. A list of performance demands rather than a fruit that comes from a heart yielded to God. We tend to forget that a woman can only become virtuous through her faith and more inclined to focus on this chapter as a way of reducing womanhood to marriage, motherhood and domesticity when really it’s all about character that transcends both gender and circumstance. I choose to use circumstance because it’s not a once size fits all kind of message. Every woman has her own journey and purpose to fulfill. Her own story to change. In pursuit to become strong and fearless virtuous women, we find women we can relate to and others we just can’t but would really like to. Deborah, for instance, the warrior princess, I always refer to her as the ancient superwoman. She didn’t just sit in the sidelines when there was a national crisis, she stood strong when the courage of men failed. To her it was ridiculous that a man would refuse to send his troops to battle unless a woman led the way. It is obvious that she was a very articulate educated woman, she had to be having been chosen by the people themselves to administer justice. Ruth was known as a woman of noble character long before she could even get married, be wealthy or have children. Hardwork, intergrity, honesty and the ability to take intiative made her a woman of noble character. She too brought good to Naomi and Boaz.

A TRIP DOWN MEMORY LANE “Mom, where does God stay? Does He have a big golden house, with big glass windows and big lights? Is that why the sky shines so bright at night?” God, such a big concept for such a tender mind to comprehend! You see, even at that tender age our curiosity was still wide awake. I find it rather interesting that even though most of us could not correctly pronounce the word “parallelogram”, some of us still can’t, we somehow knew “the big God in the sky”. The great God, who never lost a single battle, in all His majesty still gave His son as remission for our sins. Remember, before you even lied about the dog eating you homework, did you not whisper a seconds’ prayer? “Please God; do not let me get caught! Amen.” In that very little-big way, we always sought our refuge from the big, unknown God of the shinning skies! We had so much faith, yet still very little knowledge about this God. We attributed every smile and victory to Him. So now we are older and almost grey but can we say the same about our faith and source of divine strength? Did that also remain constant? I know life did not turn out to be that orchid of roses or that vineyard of bliss but when your muscles buffed up or your curves bloomed, did you let you knowledge of God also grow? It’s sad that with age came bigger challenges. Now you worry about dollar bills unlike not getting the biggest balloon. That is just life! Interestingly, the same God in whom you had so much faith never changed. As He was back then, your ever present help in time of need, so is He. However, we need to bridge the gap between our knowledge and our experience. When I talk about knowledge, I mean the knowledge of our God. When I talk about experience, I mean the experiences we have had in life.

Through the journey (experience), we may have lost sight of what really mattered. It did not matter how sickly you felt, it only mattered how good your God was. Neither did it matter how late your dad was from work but your faith that he would get home safe mattered most. I challenge you this day to take a stroll down memory lane, before you resented the good old days for the joy you lack this day! When you biggest worry was that it rained last night so now you can’t ride your bike but wait, you can now chase the chirping birds! Don’t you long for that kind of peace? Now remember who gave you that much joy and calm. Who was always there when you needed Him the most? That same God calls out to you this day. He seeks to start afresh building upon the memorial stones of the victories He accorded you. He says that this time it going to be even bigger. Back then, you were just a child but now He is calling you to be a son (son represents an heir not gender). It doesn’t matter how far off you think you have strayed, just stretch out and He will reach out to you. He promises whole lot of the finest things in life, not hard-earned but given freely through grace. He swore by His mighty name to never leave you nor forsake you. If only you would find it in your heart to trust in Him the same way you did! All you have to do is close your eyes, open you heart and say these words, “LORD, I NEED YOU!” Then take your dusty bible from the creaking shelve, flip the first page and let the Journey begin By Kennedy Munene
LESSONS FROM THE TEN YEARS CHALLENGE
T
he ten year challenge thing started as a social game where people could compare their progress in span of ten years in a picture. Celebrities took to it to show their growth and how age has transformed them in the 10 year gap(2009_2019).Someone went ahead and suggested another way to look at it…the environmental change.it is evident that it has changed negatively the trees have been cut down the rivers and oceans have been polluted , the air is dense with too much carbon dioxide. The following devastating photos will give a very huge lesson that we ought to care for our environment.
Looking at it from another angle apart from entertainment it has lessons to young people that it’s not all about the glamour. It takes time to reach the top just like the way you cannot climb a tree from the top. Instagram as a social media platform can make young people have very low self esteem given all the glitter in their lives .it was a big issue for me but after the challenge I relaxed seeing the changes therein and you can conquer with me that some were unbelievable while others were just hilarious. It got me to testify how God can bless one from grass to grace, seeing just how through the years people celebrities for this matter have progressed. They show the young people aspiring to make it out there in either music, media, production many other industries that they have to start somewhere. By Wangari Waweru.
Immortal surrendered to death Today I let my pen bleed And tell you why you should not be left When the gates of life will open When the Messiah will open the sky and come down to take the ready ones Paradise was made for us So that we can eat the bread of life there And drink the holy water of life So that we can rest there and enjoy the faith we have kept about Him It not how you lived here or attended Christ services Not how you we’re a good person That will vote you in: into the eternal life It’s your faith and believe in Him (but you
should live like Christ) He gave His life on the cross for us He shade tears in the agony of pain and said ‘it finished’ He close His eyes and the immortal surrendered to death He have widely opened His arms on the cross to welcome all (He did it for all) He shade His blood for us Every whip on His body: is a sign of hardship We have to bear when you decided to give your life to Him Every temptation is whip we need to bear By Kanari Larpei

PROSPERITY GOSPEL There are millions of churches worldwide. And to be honest I have gone to many of them. Not because I didn’t have a specific church to go to but because I was trying to run away from being told I will be blessed every Sunday .I wanted to experience a God who not only provides but teaches me the true value of life. I was desperate to know what I am living for and all I could hear from most of the preachers was all about having cars, houses, money, wives, husbands and children. Was I really living for such things? So the question is, what did I really expect and want? I was from a reckless life and i wanted someone I can be attached to; and that was God, it was Christ Jesus and the holy spirit. But when I entered the church I found something else from my expectations. I was not looking for God to make me happy through possessions but fullness of joy and peace. I was not looking for a God who can only heal but one who can cause a disease and heal. I wanted to know what causes his wrath and since we have all fallen short of the glory of God, when and how we should we not cross him and then tell us in black and white without telling us first about his grace and how merciful he is. We want to know that besides his cool nature he also can breathe fire that can gnash your teeth to gums. Prosperity gospel actually preaches more about benefiting from God than loving and living in him. Due to lack of clear understanding of what God expects of the church and hard economic situations, many try to come up with their own churches therefore missing the mark and so to gain more members all they have to offer is how to get rich and live a happy life on earth yet without digging to the core purpose of a Christian life. They preach for their own good. They talk about
18
2019
tithe, thanksgiving, offering throughout and no time do they speak about what is exactly entailed in the bible. Furthermore, the more people bring money in church the richer they become. I am not against such preaching but all am saying is that when we focus so much on such sermons to meet the needs of the congregation then we are failing. Timothy warned about teachers who taught what people wanted to hear to gain their favour. (II Timothy 4:3-4). After all these observations I noticed something in common about all the preachers. The same way a praise and worship member cannot take the congregation to spiritual level he or she has never been, it also happens to preachers. It is only the Holy Spirit that knows and reads the mind of God. Therefore, unless you are filled with the Holy Spirit you can never (no matter how much anointed) preach what God wants you to, to the people. Because there is no connection . I believe God is precise and therefore such preachers will really strain during a sermon because they have nothing specific for the people. Others will repeat the same sermon thrice and never realize since they don’t encounter God himself. They must have copied notes to preach since it is not in them; it is not a testimony but a duty. In conclusion all I can say is that let us not serve God for what he can provide but for who he really is. We should get to experience him by ourselves to know how amazing he is and know what he expects of us as his children .No one is bigger than God and also nothing is too big for him. We want soldiers to read his word and preach the reality and the true gospel in depth. In this era anyone can have all the possessions they want so we don’t need such preaching anymore. Written by Mbaabu Juster Kathambi.
WORSHIP Is More THAN MUSIC For many people, worship is just a synonym for music. They say “at our church we have the worship first followed by preaching”. This is a big misunderstanding; for every part of a church service is an act of worship be it: praying., scripture reading, singing, confession, silence, being still, listening to a sermon, taking notes, giving an offering, baptism, singing a commitment card and even greeting other worshippers. Actually worship predates music: Adam worshipped in the Garden of Eden, but music is not mention until Genesis 4:21 with birth of Jubal (who was the father of all who played the harp and fluent-he is the origin of singing and playing). Keep in mind that Adam was not by then in the Garden of Eden and he use to worship God in the Garden of Eden. This show that by getting involved even in the task that God gave us is another kind of worship to Him. Worship is more than music, even worse nowadays ‘worship’ is often misused to a particular style of music. In this usage, if a song is fast or loud or uses brass instruments, it’s considered ‘praise’. But if it is quiet and slow and intimate may be accompanied by guitar that’s worship. This is a common misuse of the term ‘worship’. Worship has nothing to do with style or volume or speed of a song. God loves all kind of music for He invented them the day He gave Jubal the ability to play harps fluently. Probably, you may not like all of them, but God does! If it is offered to God in spirit and truth, it is an act of worship. For you attending church or any activity God’s activity is another form of worship, He want us to live in faith and strength as we worship him through the activities; He gave all of us an opportunity to make His church complete; for our Lord Jesus Christ is the tree and we the part that make His work complete.
You may not have the ability to preach, to sing, confidence to stand in front of people but you must figure out the part you belong to make His work complete. For that is the kind of worship our Lord expects. For are like the fruits of holy spirits: joy, love, patience, peace, kindness, goodness, faithfulness. You may have ability of making someone somewhere be patient in waiting our Lord, bringing peace in someone life through your activities, create joy, love and cohesion among the family of Christ. Everyone must have a bit of making His work complete so search yours. If you are to sing, there is nothing like ‘Christian’ music: there are only Christian lyrics, may it be glorifying God directly or make impact to bring changes people’s life. It’s not the tune that makes a song sacred it’s the message in it. There is no spiritual tune. If I play for you a song without the words, you’d have no way of knowing if it is ‘Christian’ song. He knows He will provide,
He loved us that much, He tells you not to look at her lustfully, to, Guide you from sin. You see, He says that silver and gold is His, because, He provides in accordance to the riches in Christ Jesus, and, Of course, He defies the laws of science by Walking on water, because, He can, ooooh, He can. I also do get that, Our trust in Him is never misplaced, So, Trust, in the living God, Forever.
FREEDOM BY TABBY IRUMBI
Coming to MMU meant only one thing to me. Finally an opportunity to do what I loved. You only know how sweet freedom tastes after tasting bondage, right? I didn’t know just how much sense this phrase will make in my life. Let me back track a little bit. I have lived and done things to please people, not what I wanted, or what I knew to be right. I didn’t know how to live any other way…until I came to MMU CU.
idence right on my head. So I hated myself. My self-esteem was way down. People love taunting those who appear different from them. I could not escape the hurtful remarks. I used to see my friends take it well when a tout called them, ‘wagithomo.’ Me? If I had a gun I would have already shot someone. I knew something was wrong with the doctrine I had. I mean, if my spirit was convinced that it was right, I would not feel bad about it, right?
Have you ever gone somewhere that you didn’t want to ever leave? That’s the feeling I had the first time I stepped into the sanctuary. I have never been in a congregation of young people totally sold out to Christ. It felt awesome. I loved how people were joyous…wonder what these people eat to make them like this. It was not your normal kind of church. This one was a family. People loved each other. It is not a rare sight to find people in the sanctuary sharing the word or just holding hands and praying together. I have never wanted to belong anywhere as much as I wanted to belong to this family.
I don’t mean to say that covering your head is wrong, please get me right. Romans 14:23 says, But he who doubts is condemned if he eats, because his eating is not from faith; and whatever is not from faith is sin. If you cover your head and you believe it’s the right thing to do and your conscious does not judge you, then you’re in the right. I knew I had kept myself in a bondage, Christ says that He came that we may have life and have it in abundance, John 10:10. He did not come so that I could tie myself with religion even if I did not believe it. Knowing all this gave me the courage to seek my freedom. I’ll tell you this for free, I’ve never been happier.
I have been brought up in church. So I knew much about Christianity. Or at least I thought so. You see, there’s a huge difference between growing in church and growing in Christ. In MMU CU, I got to know Christ for myself. I realized I knew so little of the one who died for me. It’s like having a crush on…let’s say Travis Greene. You know of him but you have no relationship with him. That’s how I was. I knew of Him, I just didn’t know Him.
I love MMU CU for so many reasons. But one reason surpasses all others. It is a bible-based church. We don’t do stuff ‘cause others are doing them. We follow what God says in His word. I always bless the Lord for this family. It is here that I received my freedom. It is in this place that I got to know God for myself. It is here that I got to know my calling. There is a special anointing in this place and no one goes through MMU CU and remains the same. You cannot
Through this amazing fellowship, I got introduced to God as my father. I have lived following doctrines and religion, thinking it made me righteous. Until I realized that God is more than religion. I knew that as a lady I had to keep my head covered. So I grew up with my head covered. This set me apart from others in a not so good way. I knew I was different. Even if people didn’t say so, I knew it…I had the ev-
encounter God and remain untouched.

Like did he have weddings daily. hehe. 4.How did it all start now that you are fast rising comedian? I really can’t describe.I always have been cheeky since when I was kid mostly in primary school and I really don’t know I could actualize it to a consistent thing until when was in 2nd year back in campus that I did a video just innocently, didn’t know it will get over 4000 views on my IG page. That was the starting point. 5.What do you tell creative/talented people who are yet to release their craft? JAEL KEYA
1. Who is Jael? Jael is a daughter of a Father who knows how passionately He loves her and for that reason she tries her best to live in such a way that will not only make Him proud but also draw others to enjoy such a relationship. I am just a simple girl with crazily big dreams too. 2. Reading or audio? Reading. I am a thorough learner, so reading helps with having the words inscribed in my memory. 3. Name top five famous believers who inspire you? Oh, Lord! I can make a list of about 20! But well: Bishop TD Jakes and the daughter, Sarah Roberts Jakes – you gotta check my girl out btw! Lisa Bevere, Joyce Meyer, Christine Caine, Priscilla Shirer, Peris Samukat, Terry Gobanga – oopps! That’s past five. 4. What is the impact of women in ministry? Women were never an afterthought of God’s creation. We were the crowning jewel to everything that He created. The thing that made everything He created to be good. That said, our impact can never be qualified or measured because I believe as we currently are, we haven’t fully exploited the potential that there is in women in churches. The moment we as a community devote to seeing our women become the truest versions of themselves as the Father created them to become, then shall we be getting close to knowing just how much they can shake things up. But for now, I will say this, there is no ministry without women! 5. Name five books you’ve ever read before and they transformed you? Lioness Arising – Lisa Bevere Don’t Settle for Safe – Sarah Jakes Roberts

Find your style and find your comfort. Not everything that is trendy should be in your closet! 7. What would you tell aspiring women entrepreneurs? For the longest time I never used to think of myself as a would-be entrepreneur, but in the recent past I have been adjusting. I believe that whatever you set your mind, heart and body to do, do it with all your strength, might and commitment and I know our Father will see your dedication and He will reward you. And hey, always be ready to learn, evolve and grow. 8. Mention something on worship? Worship is not a part of your life; it is your life. We are told to “worship him continually” and to “praise him from sunrise to sunset, Most importantly, for me worship is falling in love with Jesus. 9. What promise of God has come to pass in your life?
Just one? Cause that would make an entire book! Let me tell you of a recent one, I have been out the workforce for about 5 months now. When the year started I told God that I knew He promised He would not withhold any good thing from His children and therefore I needed a job. I then gave him specifications of where I would like to work and in His faithfulness, a month didn’t pass before I was called in for an interview. Now I am working and not only that, it is more than what I asked for in my specifications. He is a faithful Father. 10. What is a skill you have that people might not know? Haha, my goodness! Do I really have one? I think people don’t know that I can actually try to draw. I wanted to be an sketch artist ones but gave up along the way and settled to just become an art collector. CARONKARA DESIGNS Who is Carol? An alumnus of Multimedia University, currently pursuing fashion business. I consider myself a kingdom entrepreneur in partnership with God to invade the market place and bring in kingdom order. Define Fashion? Fashion may mean different things to different people, but to me it’s an art. It artistically communicates about the wearer in that one can put together an outfit that will influence not only how they feel about themselves, but also how they are
perceived. Now what I love about fashion design is that I can create a look on an individual that will influence many things. Which Bible character inspires your business? That will have to be David. His excellence in playing the harps put him in a position to be strategically maneuvered by God to be able to do what he was called to do. He didn’t just randomly get to the palace, but his excellence created his way there. Excellence strategically positions you to a place you will be noticed so as to cause the influence. It causes men to stand out. Remember we are a city set on a hill-set above all to shine. Mention something on tithing? As scripture states, tithing opens the windows of heaven and this pours you divine ideas and insights. Open windows of heaven gives you access to divine inspirations and insights and without running out of ideas, you can continue to build and make more wealth. Best dressed women of all time? We can all agree that that our first lady Margaret Kenyatta never disappoints when it comes to dressing. I love Jullie Gichuru’s style, Kambua the gospel singer’s outfits always

draws me and Joy Kendi a fashion blogger has such a great sense of fashion. Last but not least, Diana Opoti a household name in the Kenyan fashion industry is on a level of her own. How did serving God impact your business? Serving God in the Christian union impacted my business in many ways but perhaps the most notable one is that it connected me with people who have played a significant role in the growth of my business. How would you describe women in ministry? Firstly, I appreciate and honor the women who have gone ahead and responded to the call of God and are now impacting the world in a great way. These women have basically become acquainted with their authentic selves and have come to a place of walking in the light of what they discovered about themselves. That’s what every woman needs-to discover their authentic selves in their creator then have the courage to live it unapologetically. For every contribution a woman has in their various spheres of influence, whether they think it to be big or small, they are a gift to the world because they were made for a divine purpose. What is your ambition? I look to grow my fashion brand to a powerhouse whose influence will extend to the nations. I started by saying that I consider myself a kingdom entrepreneur. I believe for sons of
God in business, it is never business as usual, but a strategy for kingdom influence beyond the four walls of a church building. We must penetrate every level of society with the gospel of the kingdom- even in the fashion industry. The sons of God need to engage with society to reach people where they are and connect them to God’s original plan and purpose for them. Jesus commanded us to go and make disciples of all nations. Every community is a target for God’s love. What would you tell young entrepreneurs? You have your grand vision, you can clearly see the big picture-what you want to accomplish. You obviously aren’t going to accomplish everything in one day, so what you could do is break down your vision, make it plain, then start small with what you have as you expand. Be patient with yourself. I highly recommend gathering as much knowledge and information as possible relating to your field in order to become an expert in it. In addition to that, seek to acquire more skills than what you already have relevant to your field. What the skill you have that people might not know? Oh! I can make garments with a sewing machine. I recently enrolled at a certain local fashion school and you can bet I have acquired some new skills.

The pearls department is a ladies fellowship in the Multimedia Christian Union that brings together ladies with the intent of growing together in our knowledge of who we are in God.The vision of the department this season is authenticity in our identity. When our identity in Christ is established our daily lives becomes a reflection of Christ, the light of the world, a city set on a hill. To achieve the vision we fellowship together as ladies once every fortnight and come share our understanding of God, genuinely open up about our walk with God and our daily life as Christian ladies. It also provides an avenue for growth in our various gifting and callings. Apart from that we attend various fellowships outside the school to learn more about God. The ladies department for me has been very crucial in my walk as a Christian. It has provided an avenue to learn, ask the difficult questions and find strong ladies who have pushed me to become better. It has provided the most genuine of friends and the best mentors i could ever have. It is an amazing place to learn about God and have fun.

INTERCESSORY PRAYER CO-ORDINATOR GEORGE WAGA
ASSISTANT PRAYER CO-ORDINATOR
TABBY IRUMBI
Isaiah 62:6-7 “I have posted watchmen on your walls, Jerusalem; they will never be silent day or night. You who call on the Lord, give yourselves no rest, and give him no rest till he establishes Jerusalem and makes her the praise of the earth” This verse perfectly sums up the role of an intercessor. The book of Isaiah equates intercessors to watchmen. The work of a watchman is to be on the lookout. In early days, kingdoms used to be protected by a wall. There would be watchmen who sat on those walls. Some could be at the gate, others would be stationed at the top of the wall. The work of the watchmen at the gate is basically to let people and things in and out of the kingdom. The work of the watchmen who sat on the walls was to be on the lookout for anyone approaching the kingdom. These watchmen were the first to notice anyone approaching and determine whether they are enemies or allies. The watchmen would then alert the kingdom and if people approaching were enemies, they would find the soldiers ready to fight them and protect the kingdom. We can safely say that an intercessor is someone who stands in the gap for people. Intercessors hear from God and speak what He says to the people. Intercessors seek the heart of God. When God speaks a word, let’s say concerning the church, intercessors have to pray until it comes to pass. Just like watchmen, intercessors see things before they manifest and prepare the people about them. When there’s trouble ahead, intercessors have to stand in the gap and intercede until the trouble is returned to sender. Role of the intercessor clear? Cool, let’s now share something small on prayer. James 5:16 “Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective”
44
2019
The KJV version says, prayer of a righteous person availeth much. Do you know how much power you have in you? God says that the power that rose Jesus from the grave lives inside of you. Sometimes we settle for less because we do not know just how much we deserve, how much Jesus has availed for us. You can stay bed-ridden for months when you don’t know that healing is already in you, Christ won it for you. How do I know how much has been availed for me you ask? By reading the word of God. There are thousands of promises in the Bible for you. Take some time today and know what God says about you in the Word. “He calls me blessed. He says I am a son in His kingdom. He also says it is His good pleasure to give me the kingdom. I am righteous. I am bold. I am well. Okay, I got that. What do I do with this information?” prayer! James says that the prayer of the righteous person availeth much. Speak what you want to see. You cannot be an effective Christian if prayer is not an important part of your day to day life. That’s what we do as the intercessory department and as the church. We use the power given to us. We activate it and activate our faith in prayer. Prayer is communication with the Father, we all know this, right? You don’t communicate with your Father only when you need something. You talk to him every time. As you eat, as you walk, as you do your stuff. It pleases God when we spend time in His presence. Jesus gave us an open invitation, whoever is thirsty, come and drink. There’s so much that is found in the Father. The more you know him the more you want more of Him. Your relationship with God will only be as intimate, as deep as you want it to be. Make a point of spending more time in His presence. Always remember, ‘the prayer of a righteous person availeth much.’ Shalom BY GOERGE WAGA
FATHER I AM IN PAIN
When life overwhelms you and you just want to quit. When words don’t make sense and tears cant stop falling. When you reach your breaking point and you feel like you’ve got nothing and no one to hold on to. What do you do when you are in pain? How do you deal with depression when all you want is to stop… thinking…or feeling…or breathing There’s one character in the Bible that I love…David. He was this great king, the man after God’s own heart. I love his leadership skills, his humility, his wisdom, and his deep love for God. But what I love the most is his honesty in the presence of God. David used to pour out his heart unto God. He told him exactly what he felt. Psalms 6:3 my soul is in deep anguish. How long, Lord, how long? Psalms 25:16 turn to me and be gracious to me, for I am lonely and afflicted. These are just two instances when David poured out his to God. There’s so much more (read Psalms). This gives me hope. You don’t have to keep your feelings bottled up until you reach a breaking point. You don’t have to hide your pain, your frustration from God. God is your Father; He knows you better than you know yourself. You don’t have to act all holy and try to please him with your good prayers, whatever your definition of good is. He wants you to be real with him. People may not understand your pain. They may think you are crazy, or just want attention. But your father understands. He feels you. He longs to embrace you with His love. Don’t let pain kill you. So when you feel like you have come to your end. Talk with your father. No beating around the bush, no pretending to be okay, no “sanctified prayers”. Have a raw, candid talk with Him. BY TABBY IRUMBI

ASSISTANT. BIBLE STUDY LEADER
BRIAN MAKAU
All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work. 2 Timothy 3:16-17 NIV
As you begin to study the Bible, determine your goals, methods and resources. If you simply want to be a more careful reader of the Bible, perhaps begin by reading a small portion of the text daily with a Bible reading plan. If you want to put serious effort into learning the Bible, you will need to make a greater commitment. Such an approach may involve several hours a week of focused study and the use of resources such as commentaries. There are also some basics that apply: Take Seriously the Importance and Quality of the Book You’re Studying: Although we may wish the Bible were entirely clear, students of literature would never expect that from other important books. When it comes to the Bible, it should be obvious that we have to study the Bible to understand it. Some writing – a newspaper story, for example – might be understood by almost any mature reader. Other writings – such as a Shakespearean play – might require readers to consult dictionaries, study guides and other aids because of the nature of the language and the subject matter. Yet

other writing – a calculus textbook, for example – might require years of prior study as well as patient, focused effort to understand even a single page. The Bible contains literature at all these levels: Some parts any reader can follow, some parts that require help and some that are difficult enough that even seasoned scholars struggle to comprehend them.
This is to be expected. A book claiming to be authorized by the One whose thinking and communication can range from the simplest level to far above human understanding should require serious effort from seekers of its truth. It is naive to think that the Bible differs from other literature in being automatically comprehensible, or that our good intentions and love of God will overcome our need to study in order to appreciate the quality of the ideas he has put into writing for us. Respect the Bible’s Genres: No serious Bible student can ignore the various genres in the Bible. Ten predominate: narrative, law, wisdom, psalms, and prophecy in the Old Testament; and gospel, parable, Acts, letter and apocalypse in the New Testament. To understand and appreciate the Bible’s content, each of these genres must be read differently. Consider two examples: Parables are stories told to willing students, not those who refuse to bother with what seems irrelevant to them (Mt 13:10-17). Thus, they resemble puzzles, containing punch lines that help willing readers see a truth they might have otherwise missed. Western culture is not used to parables, but with reasonable study, the parables of the New Testament reveal a great deal about the nature of God’s Kingdom. Similarly, proverbs, part of the Old Testament Wisdom literature, frequently present life’s choices in a semi-riddle fashion, which require that readers take time to understand them. Those who work out the meaning of a proverb often read it repeatedly and thus learn its content while trying to understand its point. Respect the Format: The format of the Bible requires appreciating it as an anthology of many books, each of which has its own integrity: Readers of the Bible must start by recognizing the genre of a given book and then reading it as both a unique piece of literature and one that contributes to the overall message of the anthology. The Bible is an integrated and univocal text that benefits the reader at both the individual book level and as a whole.
Respect the Historical Sweep and Context: In one sense, the Bible is like a world epic: It covers the sweep of history from the very beginning of Creation to the end of history when our universe is radically transformed. Biblical books always deal with something that is part of this very big picture – the story of God’s creation, its fall, his ongoing redemption of it and/or the ultimate consummation of all the hopes of God’s people fro a permanent establishment characterized by God’s goodness. Few other books, even other religious scriptures, resemble the scope of the Bible. Respect the Multidisciplinary Nature of Careful Study: There are several different ways to look at any piece of literature. In the case of the Bible, it pays to look from every angle that might yield a payoff. It is convenient to think of 11 such angles, or steps, in the study process: Text – Seeking the original wording to avoid treating a scribal error that accidentally crept into the text as original. (Translations and study notes already depend on this scholastic research.) Translation – Studying how to best convey in a modern language the concepts conveyed by the original Hebrew, Aramaic or Greek. (consulting multiple translations and study notes aids in this process.) Grammar – Analyzing the language of the passage under consideration to be sure it is not misunderstood. (Even one-volume commentaries will often explain these issues.) Lexical content – Seeking the correct meaning of individual words and
phrases found in a passage. (Study notes, commentaries and Bible software aid in this process.) Form – Studying the literary category and the characteristics that make any passage special. (Study Bible articles on genre serve this process.) Structure – Analyzing the way the elements of a passage are ordered and how that affects its meaning. (A careful reading of the Biblical text, especially with the aid of commentaries, makes this possible.) Historical context – Studying the milieu in which the Biblew was revealed, which helps yield the point of its contents. (One-volume commentaries and study notes, like those of the NIV Faithlife study Bible, are designed to reveal this.) Literary context – Studying how a passage fits within the book of which it is a part and how that affects its meaning. (Examining how a passage relates to those before and after it, and to the book as a whole, helps with this interpretive step.) Biblical context – Analyzing what a passage contributes to the Bible as a whole and what the rest of the Bible contributes to understanding the passage. (Reading through the Bible as a whole, and reading passages that are cross-referenced, help with this.) Application – Seeking to conform beliefs and actions to the guidance the Bible imparts. (Act on what the Bible says.) Secondary literature – Examining the wisdom and diligent study of others as they have put it into books and articles. (This step should be used throughout study, but it is usually best to do after attempting to draw your own conclu-

and continuity for that you’ve learned in Bible study.
Don’t Try to Reinvent the Wheel, and Don’t Go it Alone:
Respect the Difference Between Words and Concepts:
As you read through the Bible, look up anything you don’t fully know or understand. Make use of the many good resources available to help you be a better student of the Bible than you would be on your own.
Most people are not aware of the difference between words and concepts, yet respecting these differences is essential to accurately interpreting the Bible. For example, in Luke 10 when Jesus illustrates what it means to “love your neighbor as yourself,” he tells the story of the Good Samaritan. This account does not include the words “love,” “neighbor” or “self,” but the story richly includes the concept of loving neighbor as self and shows how that concept works in an exemplary illustration.
Bible dictionaries give an overview and a brief analysis of virtually any topic mentioned in the Bible, and they also connect that information to the various books and major doctrines of Scripture. Likewise, Bible commentaries explain Bible passages from an expert angle. Reading with a good study Bible provides additional help. Such resources introduce Bible books and special topics, and provide aids that explain the particular verse or passage under investigation. Take Notes, Like a Good Reader Should: If you rely entirely on your own memory, you’ll eventually lose many valuable insights. But if you develop an external memory – your notes of observations you’ve learned – you will preserve them. Writing down what you have learned also forces you to express your thoughts more cogently and carefully that if you merely relied on memory. Memory fades with time, but written notes provide you with an element of stability

A significant aspect of Bible study is understanding the words used in the text. But even more important is understanding the concepts used – the point, significance or meaning of a passage, verse, statement or word. Pray for Help and Study with Other Christians: Ask God for help and guidance in your Bible study. God will empower you with the desire, patience, and discernment to recognize the simple truths of the Bible and understand the complicated concepts. In addition, read the Bible in Christian community, as that is a critical component of growing as a Christian. www.bibleconnection.com

BUNGOMA MAIN MISSION 2018
This has to be among the most successful missions the
Multimedia University of Kenya Christian Union has ever held. It involved a partnership between the Word of Life Bungoma and Multimedia University Christian Union. Sure, enough the plans were rigorous but then who is like our God for we dedicated the plans of our mind to him and He saw us through. The mission involved activities such as • Crusades • Door to door evangelisms • Children’s home visit • Revival meetings • Sports and games I have to say the mission was full of memorable events and the raw power of God was at work. It was touching to see children, young men as well as the elderly believing in the son of God our saviour Jesus Christ. The gospel was never meant to be preached without power and Glory to God as the crippled in the name of Jesus rose up to their feet, the sick and bed ridden gained strength and were healed. The mission took place for a week but the impact and shaking that took place in Bungoma could only be God.
55
2019
The mission saw one hundred and twenty missionaries taking part and the labourers moved into the harvest fields joyfully filled with the spirit of God. The street evangelisms particularly stirred up the citizens all in awe of a young people totally sold out to God. Behold the lamb of God who taketh away the sin of the world. There is no other salvation in but in Jesus Christ and his life is the light unto men. God uses those who are available and by the Grace of God, one thousand and fifty souls believed in the lord Jesus Christ unto salvation. Son of God whilst you are full of energy use your time to share your faith and the glorious news that the grave is empty and the Messiah is risen. He is seated at the right hand of the Father and is above all powers and principalities. You are seated with him and are an empowered Son of God to fulfil the Great Commission to reach out to the lost. We not only believe in the anointing but also in excellence when the sons of God accomplish his purpose and will all glory and honor goes to the lord. It is written that the word became flesh and dwelt among men. The realities in the word of God entrusted to his stewards of the mysteries ought to be dispensed everywhere that the whole earth maybe filled with the knowledge of his glory. Multimedia University Christian home is more than a fellowship it is a family and with the able leadership of the priest of the mountain Emmanuel favour, lives have been impacted. There is chaos in hell, the sound of mourning, this is as the sons of God have plundered hell and populated heaven. Special thanks to leaders Branden Njonge, Carol Wambui, Peter Prince, Carol Muthoni for the great outreach to the people of Bungoma.

n our lives, we only have a limited number of days to live and do what we were ought to do. Still, it is enough time for having a complete life despite the disappointments encountered along the way. The remaining few days in our lives should be to push and accomplish God’s will in our lives. It is also meant to make up for the lost time. God can help us redeem time. He can accelerate your process. God is not godly because of what He doesn’t do, He is God because of whom He is and what He does. Finishing is one of the characteristics of His Godliness. His image and likeness, we too must express same characteristics, the ability to finish everything we start ( Philippians 1:6) Such is the nature of God unless His fullness is not in us. Romans 14:17 So then, faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of Christ. Faith will activate God’s fullness in our lives. It will strengthen our inner man and push us closer towards making impossible things the normal way of completing all that God demands of us.

Why Hope Family? Hope family as the name suggests has given many a hope in many areas of their lives. It is the best place for anyone who wants to have understanding in various aspects of life gets other people who have the same experience to share with them, get to learn and find out how to solve these matters concerning life. We discuss awesome topics that are rarely discussed in the church due to the limited time frame of the church services. These includes sexuality, family, relationships, behaviors, finances, business, academic related issues, among other social related issues. In hope family we get everyone to interact with the other and have a close understanding of who their fellow church members are. Hope family is a training ground in areas such as leadership, problem solving, decision making. Leadership: Members get the opportunity to lead some sessions during the family meetings and by the grace of God most end up in leadership in various capacities both in church and in the political arenas, they learn how to make decisions from the
others who are more than willing to give out what they know. We all agree in our family that HOPE FAMILY IS WHERE LEADERS ARE BORN.
a real family where members come for your aid in case you are stuck in any situation. There is genuine love among the members.
Talent nurturing: In hope family we believe that individual growth is what will lead to the general growth of the church. Members are given the opportunity to showcase their talents in various giftings that God has given them such as in drama, storytelling, poetry, spoken word, dancing, drawing art, public speaking, singing among others. We are all proud of these great talents in our midst who normally make our Wednesday meetings unrivalled all over. They cheer us and make laugh, some of us are made to manifest our dancing capabilities that we didn’t know existed.
Fun and Entertainment: Hope family is known to be the leader when it comes to activities that bring members together to have fun and feel good among themselves. Games and fun during family meetings and those presentations that we normally have are just on point. We normally have movie nights where we watch together as a family the best movies of our choice. We normally have retreats where we go outside the campus and have fun in the best places of our choice. We normally have finalist bashes towards the end of every semester where we dine together as a family and celebrate our senior members who are finishing campus.
Care and affection: Hope family is where you meet people who really shows concern for you. There is that welcoming atmosphere where everyone feels a sense of belonging. Everyone is a leader who shows value in the opinion that others give. In hope family you get

o begin to put into writing the merits of multimedia university Christian union would be like counting sand by the shore line, that said, perhaps some things are better put down so that future generations may know our God has always been faithful, especially when mountains and valleys fill their journey. I count myself privileged to have witnessed the translation of members from just born again Christians to sons who live out everyday as our father intended, enjoying the wholeness that Christ so wholesomely paid for.Mmcu was and still is a nurturing garden for spiritual babes to men and women of valour in the kingdom, it translates the word of God from the mouth of God to the hearts of people.I have seen the word of God translating to life in this place, life in members school fees, food, rent, providence, relationship nurted, families mended. The practicality of God dwells in multimedia Christian union. And anyone, absolutely anyone will be privileged to grow in this Garden

ultimedia University Christian Union, a pillar of hope, a greater restoration center a place that God had ordained for his people and meets at their level of encounter. Graced greatly and differently to nature men of valor and women full of excellence and enabling them to identify and walk in their purpose. Having anchored in the word, the church has raised a generation that not only depends on God but makes the word received work and live in them and other people as well. Being a pillar of Hope, many lives have been revived giving them another chance in Christ Jesus and enabling them to see the goodness of living in Salvation. The student fraternity and the staff have been the greatest beneficiary of this ministry and may it live long for glory and honor of God’s name. The union embraces every one of them (those from
inside and outside) in oneness as if they were born together, the love of Christ in their hearts puts them together hence qualifies to be a family. Great counsel from leaders and men of God through the Holy Spirit has given any beneficiary a great urge to dissect through in the word and have them grow in it always. The Christian Union has been the hope to the Multimedia University fraternity where it is looked upon on making decision and influencing a lot of agenda that would result to policies. Many of the members and even the union leaders take part in school leadership positions which is great milestone for “…when the righteous are on power the people rejoice.” Proverbs 29:2. My spirituality got a boost after I was fully introduced to sonship identifying myself as an heir in the Kingdom. This has been a life changer that when you get to be born again it does not end at accepting Christ but you become a partaker of him in the eternal life forever. This is an indication that the doctrine preached and taught in this place is not out of the bible. Blessing and favor of God be with MMU CU in Jesus name. Amen.

THE PILLAR
THAT GAVE US HOPE
J
acob had bethel; Moses had Mount Horeb; Paul had his road to Damascus. For most of us, we had MMUCU. It was the one initiating environment from which God unfolded His Purposes in our lives. In our generation, such environments are very vital in the execution of the last day move of God and how you handle them determines how equipped you become to be used of God. How you discern and understand such environments sets you up for your Divine Purpose on the face of the earth. Over the decades of existence and operation, it has been so clearly apparent that MMUCU is not just any other club or society. It is a mystery of a place; a spiritual establishment with the authority to have a foothold within the wholistic MMU fraternity and beyond. By design MMUCU has been a voice, in the institution and beyond, to communicate soberness and stand for God’s standards. It has been a hub of com-

passion that has touched the community spreading the love of God. I have always held the opinion that institutional Fellowships such as MMUCU (and others) best demonstrates what the body of Christ should be like: an encampment that is not defined by denominational demarcations but rather where people come together because of their love for God – And as we have all witnessed; where there is such unity, God commands a blessing. But even with all these powerful functionalities, MMUCU comes down to one definitive acclamation: ‘A Pillar of Hope’. All the moulding, raising, sharpening, Discipling and commissioning we got from MMUCU was underlined by Hope. That we were not mistakes and God had a plan and purpose for our lives. That even in our severe discrepancies and weaknesses, God had His eye on us, waiting for us to receive His love. That even in our immaturity, we were being processed so that we are built up into strong spiritual houses. That even in our
naivety and fragile frailness we were carriers of Revival to the nations. And against all odds – The Lord Loved us when we were still in darkness. Ladies and gentlemen – you will never enjoy the benefits of light until a lampstand is availed for the lamp to be placed on. MMUCU has been the lampstand that continues announce the existence of The Light in a very dark world of the Young people. This is why we shall be forever indebted to the flourishing and establishment of that altar. And now the future is bright for the body of Christ because of this fellowship. I challenge you in love, to play your part. Whether you are an alumnus, a present member or you just joined the fellowship. Run your race to service that altar and participate in the building of that House. Shalom. God Bless the MMU – Christian Union. Signed: Moz Muchoki (Chair Person 2015-2016)
