Flooring and Rugs: cosiness underfoot

Rugs are great for reducing noise if a room is echoey. They also offer warmth and cosiness underfoot and, if the design is bold, they can really make a statement – bringing a striking artistic focus to the room.

Gan’s Degrade rug collection is the latest contribution by Patricia Urquiola to their hand-knotted rugs, delighting in colour and tones. Gan is available through Siesta Interior Design in C. Plaza in Nueva Andalucía (www.siestainteriordesign.com).

Top Isabella Hamann and Markus Hilzinger brought out a collection of stunning carpets for JAB’s Urban Jungle range. The Spray and Love version, shown here, is just one of seven designs created by the interior designer-architect duo. JAB is available through Cortidea on the Mijas Road and in Urb. The MDV Collection by Marco de Vincenzo is a new range of handwoven rugs by cc-tapis that transforms the lurex textile, which Marco de Vincenzo is famous for, into a stunning artisanal addition for the home. Top Pergo’s Nordic Polar Oak is a light wooden floor, with wide and long planks, that gives the room a spacious and natural feel – and is particularly easy to maintain.
