HOW TO

l Start this look with a crisp, white base. White is a resilient colour and will, of course, work with anything you use with it. It will also help to keep the look feeling fresh. Use a slightly blue- or grey-toned white to match the rich navy and you’ll have a cooler, brighter look overall. l Layer in the blues with large areas of textiles like curtains and soft furnishings. Use a range of blues, from whisper light washes of greyblue to deep-sea navy. This will help to give the look depth and interest. l Find a rich, orange-toned red or coral as your accent colour. This creates a contrast to the blues and will give the look a burst of energy. Use the coral tone sparingly throughout the room on cushions and wall art. Remember that less is more when it comes to using accent colours. l To style this look later in the year, ramp up the moody blues. Take inspiration from the weather and bring in rich steel-grey throws or thick navy rugs. Dyed sheepskin textures will feel super cosy too.

HOW TO WORK THIS LOOK

l This look is based around the dreamy combination of warm sandy creams and yellow-toned greens. Start your scheme by creating a palette that will inform the rest of the look. Choose one rich cream colour and team it with one light and one dark green hue. You can use paint swatches to help you choose but you don’t need to use these colours as paint. l Use one of your three chosen colours on the largest areas of your room. You could have a cream carpet and cream walls to create an airy look or use the dark green on the walls to give your room a deeper and more cocooning feel. l Seek out prints and patterns with light botanical designs that match your palette of greens. Avoid anything that is very densely patterned and look out for subtle grasses and leaf motifs for a more calming, breezy effect. l To take this look into winter, bring in metallic elements. Brass and gold touches will make the greens feel rich and luxurious.
