Hearts for the Arts was a collaborative branding project. Maximilliano Cisneros, Zachary Barton, and myself all had the same interest in helping the arts in an elementary school. Through word of mouth, we heard that 107th St. Elementary School, located in Watts, CA, needed help with their theatre program. This year, the children at 107th St. were trying to put together The Lion King play. We made sure that we used The Lion King theme throughout our entire deliverables to be consist and to have a connection with their play. We wanted to help them by fundraising money to make the play happen. Our goal was to raise $1,000. We created a gofund me account and put together our main bake sale event at CSU Dominguez Hills. We successfully raised the $1,000 for their theatre program. Because of this group project, we won the Student Research Day competition at CSU Dominguez Hills. We then went on to compete in the state wide CSU finals in CSU East Bay.
