DESCRIPTION

LEVELS

READING/WRITING

Readings and compositions, reading games, writing stories, vocabulary exercises, reading comprehension, meaningful writing.

GRAMMAR

Explanation, structures, usage, grammar games, analysis, oral and written results, grammar exercises for tests.

Beginner

COMMUNICATIONS

Speaking practice, conversations, presentations, listening skills, communicative approach, oral exercises.

Intermediate

Grammar, reading, listening, and vocabulary exercises. ELI offers the test for daytime classes.

TOEFL

Advanced

Intonation, word stress, enunciation, vowel and consonant sounds, speaking exercises. Evening classes only.

Students can start any Monday or Tuesday (Semester or Summer) according to calendar. Students can take English classes from 1 week and up.

Placement test is taken upon arrival. F-1 visa holders need to be full-time students. Non-F1 students can choose one or more courses or take the whole program. TOEFL preparation and test are part of the daytime program only. TOEFL ITP is administered at the end of each term. TOEFL ITP does not have any extra cost. It’s included in the tuition fee. TOEFL ITP passing score helps students apply to any CUNY school and degree. Evening classes open if the minimum of students are reached. Attendance is mandatory for F-1 students. ELI classes are offered on campus. All students get a university ID (Dolphin Card) to have access to CSI facilities/ shuttle buses. Contact us to arrange your application and visa paperwork.

Dates and fees Classes offered: Reading/Writing, Grammar, Communications, and TOEFL Workshops. All levels of English are taught with an emphasis on American culture. TOEFL Workshop classes are included in the price of the Spring, summer and Fall sessions and are also offered separately except for evening classes. They are specifically designed to enhance test-taking strategies for the TOEFL, ACT, and CATW exams. TOEFL test is included in fee and administered only at the end of each semester/summer term.
