Most Reverend Michael Bruce Curry comes to Harlem’s Episcopal Church

Annual commemoration service for the first Black priest in the Episcopal Church, Absalom Jones, was held at Harlem’s St. Philip’s Church. The Most Reverend Michael Bruce Curry, elected head of the Episcopal Church worldwide, was the preacher at the ceremony on Saturday, Feb. 12. Bishop Curry became known after preaching at the royal wedding of Harry and Meghan Markle in England. The internationally known Most Reverend Michael Bruce Curry is the 27th presiding bishop of the Episcopal Church. Previously he served for 15 years as the bishop of North Carolina. The Rev. Canon Terence Alexander Lee is rector, St. Philip’s Church, Manhattan.
